use the quest item to light the "blue eggs" around the pillars on fire. then follow the welps inside the cave to the west.

It appears this quest is bugged (atleast for me). I used the quest-item (Mother's Flame) to hatch the whelps inside the eggs. After that, I went to the Obsidian Dragon Lair to complete my quest objective. The whole quest got completed, but I cant talk to Baleflame. He doesn't have a questionmark above his head. I hope a GM can fix this. Otherwise I'm kinda locked in the zone, since I cant get follow-ups.

Use quest item at eggs around 58, 86.4.

Enter the cave 55.8, 83.8.

At 49.8, 85.6 quest is completed completed (inside cave).

Return quest forward in same cave.

I had the same problem with the quest turn in. I flew back towards the entrance and saw Baleflame running back in. He faded out and when I flew back to him, the ? was there.

the quest isn't bugged I thought that too , to deliver it keep moving inside the cave you will find Baleflame fighting with a big darke when it's dead you will be able to deliver it , hope it helps and good luck :)

When I got here, Baleflame was inside the cave hitting an obsidian hatchling that never took any damage from him or me. Been this way for at least an hour.

Quest is a little bit bugged. I was running it with a friend, got to dragon boss while a fight already in progress so we joined in. Afterwards friend was able to get quest from Baleflame but I couldn't. Tried flying completely out of cave, then back, no luck. Tried logging off (works for some of the other buggy quests in Cataclysm) which didn't help either. Finally we BOTH logged off and when we came back on, Baleflame had the yellow questionmark for me.once adjimens

Hunters beware. Feigned death to avoid adds and Obsidia despawned and had to start over.

I had this problem too.

Withough this quest fixed, we're loosing access to almost 1/3 of the Twilight Highlands quests... :(

This is bugged for sure. I even reported it and got little help. However turned it in again and was able to olcate baleflame in teh cave this time. maybe it's fixed or I just got lucky.

I couldn't turn it in, either in the cave or in the circle. I abandoned and the option for the quest was no longer there. v.v Any suggestions?

I followed the whelps into the cave and started fighting the dragon. after a few minutes the dragon diappeared. not shore if i killed it. after waiting another few minutes, no question mark and the dragon didn't reappear. I then abandon the quest to restart but I'm unable to get it back.

Very buggy quest. You'd think blizzard would have fixed it by now. Comments 2 years ago were saying the same thing.

As of June of 2012 this quest is still bugged. If the dragon disappears mid-fight, abandon quest, leave the cave and then come back in and the quest giver should be there again. As a hunter, the dragon disappears if you feign death or if your pat has aggro and you put him on passive.

In April 2013 the quest worked as described. The eggs are outside the cave, in the SW part of the forest. The ones in the cave will not work.

Obsidian Lair seems to be the only cave in WoW that you can fly inside of, which makes sense considering is a dragons lair.

You are able to mount up and fly around in the cave the whelps lead you into. So you can fly all the way in, and after finishing the next part of the quest you don't have to run/fight your way back out.

Use the Mother's Flame on Obsidian Eggs to release whelps. Follow those hatchlings to the lair of their mother.

Description

In the southwestern portion of the Obsidian Forest, you will find some of the black egg clutches. Many of the eggs can be hatched at any time with a bit of prodding from the right flame, and as the whelplings hatch, they will cry out and flock for their mother.

Do not worry, if this purging is to be taken to the whelps, that is not a task that I will force on you. I simply want you to let them out and follow them home as they seek their mother. It is she who we must confront.
