FYI, you should probably clear the entire cathedral (like you would in SM: Cathedral) before engaging him, as any other mobs still alive inside will also run to attack you.

I thought I'd be a heroic warrior, charging in. Didn't quite work out :(

Can anyone post practical hints for a clumsy L44 Human Hunter? I don't follow all the info on the screen, because it overwhelms me. I can usually learn what I need for a quest from these comment streams or from dying a few times. In this case, though, the baddies gang up on me, and I never manage to get past two or more at a time. I can kill one at a time outside the cathedral, but near the entrance to the last room, where Valdemar waits. Two or three wait just inside the entrance, so my ranged weapon does not help until I get line of sight. By then, it's too late to get a jump on them, and they overwhelm me. Even retrieving my corpse is tricky, given how far "in" I have managed to get myself.

I like how she gives credit to Eligor and Korfax for clearing out the abbey and barracks even though that was you, and then continues to do nothing herself while commanding you to do yet another task. Grade A delegation.

This quest is a perfect example of how badly the pre-WoD stat squish was handled combined with the idiotic 7.3.5 leveling changes.

I'm leveling an arms warrior, currently 51. This quest is not doable. I have 8k health, he has 21k. His aura gives him 1700 armor, which is INSANE at this point (and wasn't squished with WoD because the idiot devs overlooked these buffs). He has a spammable Hammer of Justice which can easily buy him lots of time to beat you down while you do little damage in return.

This quest should be marked group now, because that's what it requires.

Attention enchanters!

The Scarlet Archmage around the cathedral in Tyrs Hand are the only source of the formula Formula: Enchant Weapon - Crusader in the game. After handing in this quest at the Light's Hope Chapel the scarlet archmages will become unreachable for your character thus also the formula because the area of Tyrs Hand will change due to phasing. After finishing the quest there won't be any enemies around the cathedral anymore.

If you have already finished the quest you can either try to get the formula with another character (no need to be an enchanter, drops for everyone) which hasn't finished the quest yet or buy it at the auction house because the formula is not BOP.

Description

Well, I'm glad that Eligor and Korfax left some fun for me. It was a battle unto itself to keep them from rushing headlong into the middle of this cathedral.

That's YOUR job, after all.

The cathedral lies ahead of us, the last real bastion of Scarlet power remaining. Within it, Crusader Lord Valdelmar sits atop Tyr's Hand's crumbling pulpit of lies.

There will be no escape; there will be no mercy. The last simpering vestiges of the Scarlet Crusade end here. Slay him.
