Quest bugs if Godfrey dies during her capture. Lose aggro, then just wait a while for him to respawn and for her to reset.

Be very careful while running - if you accidentally cross over the greymane wall, your "helpers" (Baron Ashbury, Lord Walden, and Godfrey) will disappear. Running back into Silverpine Forest territory does not make them re-appear, and if you approach Lorna she will simply stare at you, and is not attack-able. Abandoning the quest and running back to the Forsaken Front will also make them not re-appear. Reloading UI and logging out also do not make them re-appear. As of this moment, I cannot locate them anywhere and sadly, am unable to re-obtain the quest. Will update this post if I am able to find them again.

Edit - after opening a ticket, I frustratedly ran to the flight path guy and flew on to Hillsbrad, as that was my next questing hub. As soon as I was in flight, I saw them reappear below me on the ground with a quest icon above their heads. I flew back and was able to accept and successfully complete the quest for my first ring! Woohoo!

For some reason, the first time I tried this quest, as soon as Lorna said she'd rather die than come with us, all of my helpers disappeared. I had to fight Lorna alone and I died. Tried again and it was okay this time.

With your helpers it isn't that hard. When I got low on health, I hid behind Godfrey until I got health back then joined the fight again.

Godfrey and friends will initiate the action when you get closer to Lorna. They'll walk over and confront her.

They disappeared for me too when I crossed the Greymane wall, however I soon as I crossed back over, they reappeared.

Contrary to what wowhead states, this quest's series does not start with Pyrewood's Fall. Given the lore (as I remember it) I suspect you have to start with quests at the Forsaken High Command (in northern Silverpine Forest).

Quick update on this quest - it's still a little buggy, you do not 'collect' Lorna unless she goes down within a few yards of her starting position and she's attacking one of your NPC followers; Iet Ashbury and Walden keep aggro on her for the fight, with the 7.3.5 changes to scaling, this makes for a pretty long fight - just wait it out and it triggers properly.

Anyone with a decent heal spell:

My first attempt with my shadow priest, I cleared the area and let my "pets" do most of the work (like I've done with other toons in the past), while I Shadow Word: Pained her, careful not to draw aggro. I was slowly burning her down until Walden died and mobs started respawning on top of us.

So, how to keep your people alive and not draw aggro from anyone? Position yourself behind Lorna so she's the only one you'll be dealing with no matter how long the fight takes, and instead of dealing light dps, HEAL WALDEN. You'll notice Walden usually draws aggro anytime you aren't which is why he dies first. You can easily just throw an occasional heal at him without aggroing Lorna. And a plus: when Walden has sufficient health, he'll stop healing and start dpsing along with the other two.

Blizzard really need to sort the scaling out on this quest. I've failed for the last 2 hours to kill her as a fire mage decked in heirlooms . Her and the worgen should not be elites at this level

A strange glitch happened where all three assisting npc's disappeared midfight and defeating her did not update the quest. I had to wait there for her to respawn so I could complete it the 2nd time.

My Experience:

I did this quest at level 49 as a fury warrior. Was very hard at the begining and I died couple of times. Then I read some of the comments here (Thank you) it worked for me.
Tip number ONE is stay away from Lorna and let Baron Ashbury, Lord Walden, and Godfrey start the fight and aggro first. I waited behind her tent
Less than a min later join the fight and stay CALM. (if you get frustrated for the number of times your character have died it is gonna take time) she is so annoying :)
Just do your rotation and avoid (dont step on) the fire (her ability which I can't recall what it is called) on the ground.
A safe spot for the fight is close to her tent where she stands.
Make sure also you are close enough to her and Godfrey is alive.
Once she is unconsious VICTORY he will carry her and you are done.

Mount up (Dont be scared, just hug the mountains and run run run) and head back to Warchief to turn in the quest.

Congratulations you have reached now the final quest to complete

Quest failed twice because one of the NPCs kept fearing her further and further away from her tent. I don't remember the fearing happening before. I found the best thing to do as an affliction warlock was to set my voidwalker to Passive and tank her by her tent. So long as I had aggro, she wasn't feared. Drain Life easily healed me for the damage that she was doing.

FYI, this quest is bugged for a Frost Mage. I tried it 4 times in frost mage spec and every time Lord Walden died, Lorna took almost no damage and the NPC's weren't able to fear her. When I switched to Arcane I was able to finish it the first time.

This quest is still buggy as of 2020/07/19. The only reason I was able to complete it is because there was another player and we fought her together. Way to fail, Blizzard.

Just did it as a Mage, just kited her around the tent (you can attack through it, she can't since she's melee. Took abit less than 5 minutes but definitely couldn't have finished it without kiting around the tent. One of her hits brought me to 30%

If you're here from the Reddit speedrunning guide - this quest is extremely buggy and seems to break any time anyone zones in near her. It's very sketchy and almost not worth the effort.

After having zero issues with a slew of alts making their way through the area over the last week and a half, my hunter couldn't complete the objective while my pets were out. Ended up nearly getting clobbered into the next century, but got the quest done.

This quest is still buggy as of 9.1.

You need to keep your "undead buddies" close to Commander Lorna Crowley AT ALL TIMES.

If you "nuke" her from range and "facetank her" it will NOT count as completed when she goes down. Use survival cooldowns (buddies WILL heal you) and/or let the undead guys get aggro and tank the NPC if you're having trouble.

Just FYI.... If you stop questing in Silverpine Forest and don't accept this quest, I've just started knocking out quests in the Hillsbrad Foothills zone with Lord Godfrey, Lord Walden, and Baron Ashbury as side kicks. Killing mobs stupid fast.

Update: they disappeared after the Sludge Fields cut scene.

Do not let Godfrey die! if Godfrey dies the quest will bug and you won't be able to complete it.

After about 15 or so attempts to complete this quest, and several times reading these comments, a comment near the bottom gave me the clue I needed. So here's what I did

1 Set Godfrey as my focus
2 Made sure my pet (I was playing a hunter, but I think it would work with a lock as well) had growl turned on
3 As soon as Lorna became aggressive (her name turns red and n her health bar also becomes red) sent pet in
4 Used Kill Command each time Godfrey took any damage to make sure Lorna was focused on the pet
5 As soon as Lorna collapsed, Godfrey picked her up and put her over his shoulder
6 Once the yellow text appear to announce that Lorna has been captured, mounted up and rode sticking close to the edge of the battle field.
7 Handed in to Sylvanas

Blizzard Developers need to review the health and stats of companion NPCs in the Silverpine questlines.

For this quest, Lord Godfrey is rather weak compared to what he is meant to be, and if you do not have a pet, you may have to utilize the fact that he is a caster. Once the fight against Lorna Crowley starts, pull her away from Lord Godfrey, not too far, so that he keeps casting and you are more of a distance from him - then, survive, beat her up, and done.

Description

Lorna Crowley, daughter of Lord Darius Crowley, is currently at the Gilneas Liberation Front camp, located near the Greymane Wall, to the southeast.

Our primary mission is to infiltrate the camp and capture her alive. The Dark Lady believes that she will be able to use Lorna as a bargaining chip against Crowley. I say we just kill her and bring her back as Forsaken, but we must do as the Dark Lady commands.

We must hurry before the rest of the Alliance forces arrive.
