I found this quest somewhat silly. Vengeance for Our Soldiers has you specifically killing 7th Legion SUBMARINERS. Guys who are swarming all around the place in diving helmets and who are using tridents as weapons. How could they have POSSIBLY gotten past the Forsaken warships? Hmm...

Needless to say, that they used a frickin' submarine did not exactly come as an earth-shattering revelation to me at least.

You may want to turn up your view distance if you have it sat to low, because I couldn't see what I'm supposed to after the view pans up from the sub. It doesn't matter for quest completion, but you only get one look.

Interestingly enough, this quest has the same name as the first part of the Shifting Sands questline, which opened the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. The entry for it no longer exists on WoWhead, searching for it takes you here instead.

Amazingly the telescope allows you to pan around the submarine before fixing on the ships.

...heh. The name of this quest used to be the name of the quest that started the questline (after getting enough Brood of Nozdormu rep) for Scepter of the Shifting Sands before it was removed.

This page says that the quest giver is Gilneas Camera 01, but if you accidentally abandon or decline the quest, you can go back to Forward Commander Onslaught to re-accept it.

Telescope is at . You can't miss it just look back where you came from stone bridge and you must see big golden telescope.

If you have an addon like Azeroth Autopilot that auto skips cutscenes, you'll need to disable that feature momentarily before clicking on the scope.

As of today, this quest can't be completed on a character without flying as far as I can tell. I was on my level 16 when I discovered the walls surrounding the telescope have been fully repaired (assuming due to the Gilneas changes this patch) and the telescope isn't accessible. I walked around the entire area trying to get to it but couldn't find a way. I submitted a bug report hoping they'll make one of the gates open or something so people can access this again via the ground.

This is how I was able to complete it: I invited a higher level friend to party and party synced so they'd be in my phase, they then flew me over the wall. Had to leave party so the telescope would show up again, I completed the quest, rejoined group/resynced so they could fly me out.

Since patch 10.2.5 the gate is closed, you can do it using the method from the video - https://youtu.be/yzBsSQMZbIY
The coordinates of this ledge are - /way 55.4 43.1
The developers promise to remove the gates for patch 10.2.6

Look around the Cathedral Quarter. There should be a telescope nearby that the 7th Legion uses for spying. Find it and use it to scout the harbor. We need to find out how the 7th Legion got past our fleet.
