Walk up to one of the smaller trees and use the Buzzsaw (first key on your actionbar). A few of the mobs will spawn that you need to kill. Just spawn Buzzsaw until they all die.

You'll know you have the right kind of tree when you can actually target it. There are a few in the same area that look similar, but cannot be cut down. When you get to a tree, hit the "Buzzsaw" option, this will be number 1 on your action bar. If nothing happens, try moving around to the other side of the tree. You'll know when there are snipers in the tree when the tree starts to tilt and fall over. A total of 3 snipers will jump down and land in front of you as the tree falls (it will disappear). Start spamming your "Fling Blade" button, which will be number 2 on your action bars. Make sure you kill all of the Scouts in the area before you attack a tree, because you can become very easily overwhelmed, and all of the mobs on your machine will be on you once your machine dies.

Let's see, you fight against Talendris Snipers...who jump out of trees. Then, when they are hurt significantly, they substitute themselves with a log. Why does this sound familiar?

Are you supposed to automatically be put into a shredder? When I accept the quest nothing happens. I just stand there. I tried walking up to one and no green arrow. I tried abandoning quest, logging out and logging back in and accepting quest. Nothing happens. Anyone know what I'm missing?

Edited to add: I've done the previous quests - Runaway Shredder and The Captain's Logs. The shredder worked just right for those.

This quest is actually quite fun. To me it was payback for the previous quest killing me 4 times. Insta-gibbing night elf rogues that aggro your shredder has a very satisfying feel to it, as well as the snipers sitting in the trees.

Don't forget if you're using a toolbar addon like say Bartender 4 you will most likely have to disable it to complete these quests or check the box w/in the BT4 configs to permit "Blizzard's Vehicle UI".

You can jump out of a shredder if needed, but it will quickly disappear. To get back into another one, beat another shredder into submission and jump in. There are several shredders roaming the area.

tl:dr: if you're missing buttons, ditch the shredder, log out and back in, and get a new shredder.

I had this quest with a goblin yesterday and my shredder got stuck on the lumber collection mode; it didn't swap the buttons out so i couldn't cut down the saplings. I tried getting a new shredder which didn't work.

In the end I had to ditch the shredder, log out and log back in, and get a new shredder. I finally had the buttons i needed for the saplings and scouts, and it was fine (the buttons updated, etc) for the rest of that quest chain.

Go to a tree and press Buzzsaw (1). This will chop down the tree, once you do that, then snipers will fall out, press Buzzsaw (1) and Fling Blade (2) to kill them

This quest is surprisingly annoying to complete at 120. Your own damage is minor, so more often than not your shredder will be destroyed before you get a chance to progress. Found it easier to cut down a tree and manually eject from the shredder to kill the hostile NPCs myself.

Since Blizzard decided to level scale, this quest is quite annoying. I used to be able to complete this quest in just one shredder. Apparently now, the elves that fall out the trees that you cut down do significantly more damage to the shredder.

Use the shredder's buzzsaw to cut down Azshara Saplings, and kill 9 Talrendis Snipers as they emerge.

Description

Hold still a second, I'm going to bring your main buzzsaw controls online.

Night elven snipers from Talrendis have been hiding in the trees, taking potshots at my workers. I want you to take care of those snipers... by first taking care of those trees. Look for Azshara saplings east of the main gates. Your shredder will know what to do. Chop to it!
