The mobs start at 62, 22 and are all elites. Almost all are single pulls and could probably be soloed, I would not recommend it. Its a lot of mobs and most have 24k hps+. Firegrom is really no different from any of the battle mages, just named. Pretty simple, just long if you solo.

lol me and a lock solo'd it :p, the baron stablemane was there and we found out that if we pulled the mosb close enough to him he attacked them and killed them for us! Bonus tbh.

Enforcer's and Ravager's walk together, but are not linked and dont come together if you pull one of them.

Maybe possible solo, but i recommed a group of 3 for this one.

We did this with a:

69 Warrior
68 Warlock
68 Rogue

Warlock actually tanked the mobs with Siphon Life and Drain Life since Warrior coulden't get any healing, worked like a charm. Warlock had about +650 spell dmg and that's the lowest requirement for it to be possible.

i dont know how yalls soloed the Enforcer + Raptor elites... jesus christ that posion dotted me for 350 damage/5sec for 2 minutes. the raptors alone critted me for 1800 a pop, that's almost 1/3 of my HP.

Agree with Plant, i managed to solo this quest by slowing fear/dotting them. They'll run into other mobs but will not add.

So far so good soloing on a 68 frost mage. Have no trouble fighting the ogres, the ravagers are harder since they charge but still manageable. haven't tried any battlemages but should be fine too.

Soloing Feral
Pain ...but no mobs aggro socially so pull as you see fit.
Ravagers are by far the worst due to their disease.

And before Fingrom...there is a patrol to his door. single wanderer...take him out and maybe even guy inside. Fingrom is a pain due to surprise heavy hitting AOE. Otherwise keep him stunned as much as possible.

Doable just will take 30min.

I don't know if this changed after patch 2.1, but the mobs definetley aggro when feared into, especially the ravagers. At least, they all did for me several times.

Solo'd as a BM 70 Hunter. Took a while but was able to pull through. Really never had any problems, just make sure mend pet is always on and you should be fine.

Able to solo an Enforcer and Ravager at the same time as a 70 warlock. Combination of Fear and dots. Not really all that hard. No need to use pots or anything.

Couldn't pull just an enforcer or ravager by itself though as of patch 2.1.1.

lvl70 warlock. not a chance to do this quest solo. when feared, mob pulled the other pats too. gaving 2 elites on my back is a no-go. it looks Blizzard fixed the idea on fearing without pulling other mobs.

Do yourself a favor; Get a group to do this with you. Also you can use the group to do the next follow-up: Showdown ( http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10806 ) He will be easy and can be two manned if played properly.

can be curse of exhaustion kited, however it is not reccomended because it takes forever, and you can't kill the mages that way

hunters also able to solo them, just abuse traps fd+drink... very easy just takes some time, if you can't find a group for it.

Solo'd as a level 70 Demonology Specced 'lock. It wasn't easy, and it took a fair while, died once. Just send pet in, C.O.A, Corruption, Immolate, heal pet, heal pet, rinse repeat, watch your agro. The only problems came from ravagers focusing on me because of agro and patrols. The ravagers hit damn hard on cloth... critting me for over 2k, and to make matters worse they hit fast and have a debuff that increases physical damage taken and inflicts a hefty 300 damage per 10 seconds for 3mins.

If at all possible, try and bring another person, it will make the quest much much easier and quicker for both of you.

I solo'd this at level 65. Chain fear and dot ftw. The only deaths I had were from a lvl 70 rogue who kept messing with me.

Some what easily soloed as a 70 feral druid. They do hit hard, but you should be able to out dps them in cat and you only need to switch out to heal about once per battle.

The most important thing is to WATCH OUT FOR PATROLS. There are MANY patrols, and its easy to have 2 mobs on you at once pretty quickly.

As a well geared prot warrior (full t4 and epic equiv) I could solo this quest pretty easily. Each mob would only take me out around 25% of my health, so I could do 3 of them in a row and then med my hp back up.

I found that killing the ravagers is EXTREMELY benificial as they leave a debuff which ticks for a decent amount of HP (150 hp every few seconds for 3 min) and also causes you to take more physical damage. So save the ravagers for last.

Soloed slowly but easily as a badly equipped (489 spell damage, 7070 mana) resto druid with enough in balance to get insect swarm. Do the Ogri'la quests first so the ogres are neutral to you and you can generally pull the raptors separately by rooting the patrolling ones and attacking them after the accompanying ogre has moved off. On the rare occasion they get linked in to another mob, just focus target the raptor and keep it slept whilst you take the ogre down first.

Fingrom was the only tricky part. First off, make sure you've dealt with the patrol who wanders up and down to visit him. Thereafter, good news - even though he's indoors you can still root him! So stand in the doorway, open with a starfire, swiftly root him and move out of line of sight. Straif back to cast moonfire, then straif out of line of sight again. Straif back to cast insect swarm, then get back out of line of sight. Rinse and repeat, leaving out the initial starfire. If for any reason you're not fast enough and one of his fireballs hits you, one lifebloom is enough to get you back to full health.

If you have the gear for Gruul's Lair (T4ish), this can be easily done solo as a hunter as well. I used a boar because it holds aggro far better than any other pet (if it has Charge). To kill the named, put the pet outside, downstairs, run up and misdirect to the pet, then shoot him. Jump down immediately. It's a bit tricky to place the pet so the "boss" doesn't have LoS because he is ranged, but worked for me.

If your guild runs Gruul's Lair, you can complete this quest while you're waiting for the raid to gather.

Just be careful about the pulls, and yes, completing Ogrila attunement first helps a lot (as mentioned above by somebody else).

Very easily solo'd as a 67 frost mage. Just make sure you don't pull more than one :P

NOTE: You can body pull the ravagers away from the enforcers, but you CAN'T pull them with spells or else the enforcers come too.

Yes. You can actually pull the ravagers, without pulling the enforcer they are walking with too.
But only with body pull.

but still.. finding a group is faster. i tried solo the quest as aff lock, and it went fine, but very slow.

Completed this yesterday as a L70 Combat dagger Rogue, after having this quest for quite a while without being able to find a good group. Was going to solo (right after I completed getting my Primalstrike Leather set), but I'm glad I didn't have to as it would have taken a long time and repairs would have been costly. I did find a PUG...but it wasn't "good" IMHO. Decided to stick with it just to clear my quest log. But it was painful.

Vanish saved me several times as our group (the others were 67's) wiped several times due to adds and others not being willing to take direction and work as a team. I was not group leader but had done this quest with my primary toon. I tried to tell the group where the best pulling spots were, to avoid killing mobs we didn't need, etc., to no avail. Had one member that just wanted to kill whatever was in range, regardless of the consequences. So...they all died...several times. One of the worst incidents was after a double mob fight, I was down to 40% and one party member intentionally pulled another mob. I healed and was able to backstab the mob to death, finishing at 8% health and vanishing as another mob added...and everyone died. Again. In another incident, the same toon decided to attack an Ogre Chef...that we didn't need to complete the quest...while another member was running back to rez. In spite of me telling him not to, he attacked, and we then had to waste more heals/take more damage for no good reason.

Regardless, completed the quest and moved on.

Teamwork...it does make a difference!

Solo'd as a 68 Unholy Death Knight.

I find it was fairly difficult. Died a couple of times before I got the hang of it. Avoid pulling the Enforcers that are linked to Raptors, that's just a death sentence unless you've managed to get a ton of gear (most probably haven't). You can avoid having to do this by actually just sneaking into the base. On the right side of the entrance (2 enforcers + 2 raptors at entrance) there's actually a small hole in the rocks where you can jump up (without exploiting) and walk behind them.

Within the base area, you'll find plenty of solo pulls. I found that even the ogres inside the huts weren't linked. I could Death Grip one out without aggroing the other ogre despite their proximity.

The only things to be careful about:

- Enforcers do enrage at times and hit really hard. They hit me for 1.2-1.8k in Frost Presence while enraged. For me, as Unholy, I just saved my ghoul's gnaw for this moment and stunned them and rush DPS'd them down.

- Raptors apply a 2 minute duration disease that does minimal nature damage (think it was like 189 a tick in Frost Presence) but the 2nd portion of the disease it what makes it annoying. It increases the physical damage you take which is absolutely dangerous when you fight an enforcer especially when he enrages.

- Battlemages were cake. Could easily keep them from casting saving one frost rune for Brain Freeze. Despite the 10 second cooldown being only a 4 second lockout, none of the mages tried casting anything in the 6 remaining seconds, not even the named.

Just soloed as lvl 69 retri pally.

You need to be sneaky and don't aggro more than 2 mobs at a time. If u aggro a ravager and a raptor togheter, repentance on ravager and burst raptor down, them heal yourself and go for the ravager.

Mages are easy, just repentance and hammer his flamestrikes and it will be fine.

Fingron is a not so hard fight, and u will need to kill one mob them pull him out of the room. interrupt the firebolts when u can, use ur art of war flash of light and it will be easy.

Took a little of time, but the 1k exp per mob + 14600 of the quest is worthy.

I'm currently trying to solo this as a 66 frost mage. I can't figure out how to pull the ravagers away from the enforcers. If I run close to the ravager, both come. It doesn't really matter because I've been using my water elemental to frost nova and then AOEing them with an icy veined blizzard. When they get close, I let ice barrier break and they are frozen from shattered barrier. I recast ice barrier and I run away and blizzard again. Next time they get close I frost nova. If ice barrier breaks it usually is off cooldown so I recast it. I also try to get a second frost nova out of my WE before it dies. I've also been using mana shield as they hit hard. It uses a lot of mana but I've been able to kill two at a time so that is only about 10 battles.

Very easy to solo as a retribution paladin.

Just use repentance on the humanoid, kill the ravager make sure your using Seal of Light and Judgement of Light.
Make use of every Art of War proc, and HoJ.

There's a way to get in the camp without aggroing all the guards at the entrance:
Approximately at 63.4, 24.4 there's a space between 2 spikes, climb there, jump on the palissade and jump in the camp. You'll be in a safe place and you can kill all mobs 1 by 1 (its easy to solo the quest from this point).

This is easy after patch 3.2 - just fly in and look for the loose mobs and kill them.
Currently doing this as a 69 Affliction Warlock, and it is easy as hell.

Send Voidwalker in, start with some DoT's and stay at max distance.
Health Funnel if the Voidwalker gets low, you should take aggro at some point.
Fear away once they get close if you don't have the hp/gear to take a few hits, if you can just drain tank it.

Rinse and repeat!

i pulled this off with my 67 shadow priest. it takes a lot of patience, and a bit of planning, but it is entirely doable by one person. Fingrom is the hardest piece of the puzzle, to drop him, you have to take out the battlemage at the base of the ramp leading up to him. Next, take out the patrolling enforcer that goes in and out of Fingrom's room. Finally, MC the second enforcer while standing as far away from him as possible; outside the doorway is preferable. Fingrom will not kill the enforcer in time, but when the MC finally times out, it will reset itself, leaving you with a Fingrom around 50% health. Kite him down the ramp a bit that you just cleared, and it's downhill from there.

73 MM Hunter with tenacity pet and quest greens/blues. Don't try it. I died pretty quickly. The ogres will pull with their ravagers - they won't pull separately.

Fingrom can be found on the first floor (i.e., one level above the ground floor) of the building at 66,20. Simply climb up the incline and enter the room. The room is occupied by Fingrom and one Bladespire Enforcer.

In Gruul's Lair, you'll see a two story hut with Leokk flying in a cage suspended in front of the hut. Go up the stone ramp on the left side of the hut to a room. Fingrom will be in this room (not up on one of the spires) with a couple of Bladespire Enforcers.

Soloed with a 66 BM hunter and a tenacity pet. Had to freeze adds and kite my main target away from them so my pets thunderclap wouldn't break the trap. Just don't forget to cast mend pet regularly, the enforcers do hit pretty hard.

I guessing this quest has been nerfed. I've done it twice in the past month or so: once with a disc priest and again with a feral cat druid. It wasn't particularly hard.

Went to the coords for Fingrom, 66,20 but did not catch on immediately that the edifice is a two story building. Thought maybe he was waiting to re spawn but used /target and found that he was in the SECOND level of hut, just a note in case you were similarly duped. Had no trouble as solo endeavor but a hunte is party of two.

Doing this quest is so weird after having completed the Ogri'la chain (Into the Soulgrinder) to become the king/queen of ogres. All mobs are neutral to you and when you kill them they say something that makes you feel like a horrible leader... >.<

This is, no doubt, old news - the mobs you need to kill for this quest are no longer elite. This quest is therefore easy to complete solo.

Description

You've proven yourself resourceful, and now I think I'm going to put you to personal use in my own fight against Gruul and his sons.

The Bladespire clan are the favored of the gronn, and while you may have thinned out their numbers elsewhere, you haven't yet dealt with their strongest.

Gruul protects the exterior of his lair with only the toughest of ogres, and it is those that you must kill. Head north through the Daggermaw Canyon and you will find Gruul's Lair at the end.
