Stitched Pup is one of the new battle pets added in Patch 5.1. It drops off of Gluth in Naxxramas

This is one of the pets listed in the new achievement: Raiding with Leashes

For those wondering about the drop rate, Blizzard recently posted a little more detail. CM Brennvin said the following on a forum post (I added the bold font):

"We believe there was a lot of confusion when we originally announced this change and we're certainly at fault for said confusion. The original patch note was very vague to the point of being misleading. It was never our intent to weaken old raid boss encounters to allow anyone to have a chance to solo them, regardless of class, spec, or skill.

What we did change were encounters that were mechanically impossible for one person to accomplish, solely for the purpose of ensuring players have easier access to the hunt for the new rare companion pets -- the drop rates of which are actually set to account for a group of three players, not one.

Moving forward, though, we do not plan to adjust encounters for tougher raid bosses to be solo’able by all classes and specs."

Pro tip if your a dk clearing out the raid for pets.

While the boss is possible to solo on 10 man even with his devour zombie ability it can take a while, in blood spec anyway.

I figured id control a zombie (well test if they were controllable) they are

and atleast prevent it from eating one of them

it will keep trying to eat the controlled pet but be unable to and ignore all the other zombies

and the zombie pet will stack the damage debuff on the boss

making the boss die way way way way fast

wonder if this would make him soloable on 25 man if you got him to try an go for a zombie

Just got destroyed in PVP pet battles by this guy combined with unborn valkyr. The stitched pup is able to consume corpse on the temporarily dead unborn, when he needs a heal or just before she returns from haunt.

One of my favorite battle pets. He is an undead which means when he dies he will ressurect and be guaranteed one more attack before he permanently dies. His ability Howl can then be used to boost any other pet's spells for both turns. Most battle pets with howl are beasts so you can't guarantee it won't die too early or late for howl to be active for both turns on a new pet better suited for the current opposition.
