Note that this is the 4.0 Culmination of the legendary questline (which results in Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince). The quest that gives the reward is Breath of the Black Prince.

Quest chain starts with Wrathion, at Tavern of the Mists, at the top of the Veiled Stair.

The other possible gems are Crystallized Horror and Crystallized Dread.

Is it still possible to get the Breath of the Black Prince, as in the thing that turns ur wep into a legendary? because this replaced the Breath of the Black Prince.

Blizzard has now stated that once a player finishes the legendary questline for these gems and obtains one, they may buy more from the Prince, although they will not necessarily be cheap. Therefore, there is no reason not to socket whichever Sha-Touched socketed weapon you obtain first, as you will be able to obtain the gem again later on.

I wonder where the Tanking items are (again). We tanks are always left behind in the secundary stats. It would be nice to see that it can be placed in a weapon whit a dodge or parry stat instead of haste or crit. The same with BS weapons. Also a Stanima gem would be nice. I never have problems with my threat. So why should i want more str? I rather have 500 sta = 5k health

If i get two Sha-Touched weapons with sockets as a dual wielder, and I can only use one of these gems. Would any other gem fit in that other gem slot? The weapons are not unique, so I do not understand how this could work.

This is really important for dual wielders, because if not it may be a bad idea for people to roll on a 2nd one. Anyone know?

After socketing your weapon with the gem, a new chat option will open up with Wrathion to purchase another gem. Price is 10,000g.

Just wondering, can you use two of these gems, one in each different spec?

I have one equipped one on my Main Spec Prot Warrior weapon, and I was wondering if I can equip one for my DPS spec weapon? Don't want to part with 10k gold and find I can't use the second gem.

And just to add, I'm annoyed that in my DPS Fury Spec I can only add one gem, what the hell blizz? Makes the second weapon look average!

The final Legendary will be a Gem of your choice giving you +500 of your chosen stat, the Gem choices are as follows:

Agility - Crystallized Dread

Strength - Crystallized Terror

Intellect - Crystallized Horror

Each Gem is a Reward Choice from the quest Breath of the Black Prince in which upon completion will also give you:

118,000 experience

75 reputation with The Black Prince

and the Achievement Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince

As of rolling restarts today on 1-9-13, this item and the other 2 legendary gems can now be purchased from the valor gear vendor Commander Oxheart at Niuzao temple for 10.000G as well as Eye of the Black Prince for 2500G. These items ARE affected by guild perks, and with it you can get them for 9000G and 2250G respectively with those perks alone, and for even less if your a goblin as well.

This will make it much cheaper to just buy the gems here while in a guild with these perks and will finally allow you to buy more eyes for your new weapons! :D

As of the hotfix being implemented january the 8th:

Commander Oxheart in Townlong Steppes will now sell Crystallized Dread, Crystallized Terror, Crystallized Horror, and Eye of the Black Prince for gold to players that have completed the appropriate quest lines.

As 10.000 gold is a lot to waste on an avoidable error, please be aware that a player character may only equip a single Legendary Gem ( Crystallized Horror, Crystallized Dread, Crystallized Terror) into a Sha-Touched Weapon and cannot, as in duel wield, equip a second gem into an off hand weapon. Also, the quest reward Eye of the Black Prince places a prismatic socket along side your original Sha socket which will accept a jewel crafted gem but not a second Legendary Gem.

So, I finally received CrystallizedTerror and im keeping it in my bags because sha-touched weapon didnt dropped for me yet.
My question is, what's the point of having this fancy gem in-game since it doesnt fit any Throne of Thunder weapons? Even if i had Eye of the Black Prince i would not be able to fit that gem into my brand new weapon.

If, like me, you're a thick as two short planks and don't realise that the gem is unique-equipped... and if you then spend a massive amount of gold on buying a second one for your off-hand weapon (fury warrior)... and if you then find it's useless and can't be refunded (no sell price), well then, try to submit a ticket to customer support.

I did this today (embarrassed cough) and put in a ticket, expecting that I'd wasted a few thousand gold and would never see it again. Yet in a few hours I received my gold back in a mail from customer support.

Seriously impressed with Blizzard, I really didn't expect that.

Since this gem cannot be used on ToT weapons, I now find that my 483 2h axe (with this gem) is still giving me higher dps than a 502 2hander with two standard +160 STR gems.

Personally, I think Blizz should give us an item that will put a Sha-Touched socket on a regular weapon. I'd be perfectly happy with that even if it was an epic PITA questline that takes forever to complete.

I checked today and if you've completed the quest to gain access to these they are still available in the game, they seem to have lost the property "can only be used in sha touched weapons" does anyone know if they can be used in current 630-680 gear?
If so 31 to Str is better than 50 to any secondary. Hesitating before I spend the 8k to buy one.

Despite what the notice says, the item is still available and can be purchased from the vendor in the "Sold by" tab.

The item is still available. If you are exalted with the Black Prince, you can buy those +10 intellect, +10 strength, and +10 agility gems from the Black Prince Quartermaster for 8,000g each.

So here's a fun fact about these gems: if you already have one socketed in a weapon, you can no longer buy any of them from the vendor. If you want to set up a Timewalking weapon for a second spec, you need to:

Vendor your existing sha-touched weapon.
Buy your second Crystallized (Scary Gem).
Buy your weapon back from the Buyback tab.

And don't log out during any of this! You'll lose your original weapon and gem, and have to go through the item restoration process.

What a pain in the buns.
