Blue version of the Magnificent Flying Carpet, added as a Frozen Orb sink in 3.3, and it's pretty nifty rug too. It's also considered corny to be listening to "A Whole New World" while riding it.

Requires 4 Frozen Orbs and 1 Ebonweave/Moonshroud/Spellweave to craft. Tack on the additional 6 Frozen orbs to purchase it, you're looking at bare minimum 10 heroics or a trip to AH to get the orbs. Requires 425 Tailoring to make and use, flies at 280% speed in Northrend and Outland, also requires Artisan Riding. (Info added because people constantly ask these questions regardless if the info is RIGHT UP THERE).

6 Frozen Orbs- For Pattern

4 Frozen Orbs
30 Frostweave Cloth (Transition to 6 Bolts of Frostweave)
6 Infinite Dust (Infused with Bolts of Frostweave to make 3 Bolts of Imbued Frosweave)
2 Eternal Life ((20 Crystallized Life) Creates 1 Moonshroud)
2 Eternal Shadow ((20 Crystallized Shadow) Creates 1 Ebonweave)
2 Eternal Fire ((20 Crystallized Fire) Creates 1 Spellweave)

Note that Moonshroud, Ebonweave and Spellweave no longer have a specific location to create them and don't have cooldowns along with the patch.

I looked at the name and expected to see ice or some form of icing on my carpet. Needless to say I sorely disappointed :(

And as of 4.03a, the buff tooltip now references Aladdin again, as does the Magnificent Flying Carpet. =D

Yup, 4 balls are definitely Frozen orbs, while in, for instance, Magnifficent one these are Monarch Topazes!

Is anyone else as disappointed in this mount as I am?

I *LOVE* the front half of the mount... a beautiful ... FROSTY ... blue. The back half of the carpet, however, looks like it's been in mud. It looks filthy!

They really need to add a passenger flying carpet mount.... then it will complete the whole aladin look ... you'll probably need to be a prince of persia *sic* to buy it too....

This may seem pretty obvious but...

Despite scaling to your flight speed it still requires 280% Flying to learn!

Also BoP so be prepared to fork out for fast flying for your tailoring alt!

For all you mount collectors, this does count towards Mountacular (Mountacular) I did not have this on my tailor, logged over, created the item, logged back to my main and got credit towards the achievement.

Since I didn't see it here, I've compiled some information on collecting all of the flying carpets. This is useful for everyone, but especially if you are leveling tailoring only for these mounts!

There are 4 carpets currently in game (as of 6.2.2) and they all qualify as separate mounts. Only the Flying Carpet is not Bind on Pickup, and can be sold on the Auction House or traded. Magnificent Flying Carpet, Frosty Flying Carpet and Creeping Carpet are all BoP.

Here are some notes about these mounts:

Expert Riding is required to learn the Flying Carpet. This costs 250g, with reputation discounts to a minimum of 200g at Exalted.
Artisan Riding is required to learn Magnificent Flying Carpet, Frosty Flying Carpet and Creeping Carpet. This costs 5000g, with reputation discounts to a minimum of 4000g at Exalted.
Flying Carpet, Magnificent Flying Carpet and Frosty Flying Carpet are flying mounts, while Creeping Carpet is a ground mount.
Once learned, the mounts will remain a part of your collection and will count towards mount achievements like Lord of the Reins. Even if professions are later switched, the mounts remain in your collection - you just won't be able to use them without Tailoring.

Below is a chart outlining where to get each carpet. The information included is:

Where to learn the pattern.
The tailoring skill level required to learn the pattern.
The tailoring skill level required to ride the carpet.

NOTE #1: The tooltip for Frosty Flying Carpet indicates Tailoring (300) required to ride it, when it fact it is a skill level of 425.
NOTE #2: The tooltip for Creeping Carpet indicates Tailoring (300) required to ride it, when it fact it is a skill level of 700.

The minimum character level required to ride the carpet.

NOTE: The Creeping Carpet would require minimum level 90 simply because that is the lowest possible level to reach 700 skill in Tailoring

The level of riding required to ride the carpet.

NOTE: Vendor materials are denoted as such - (V)

In summary, to learn all four mounts (i.e. add them to your mount collection), you need the following:

Materials for all 4 carpets.
Artisan Riding.
A Level 90 Character.
Tailoring at skill level 700.

Below is a breakdown of crafted mounts. Note that "profession specific" mounts are those for which either having the profession or using the profession (e.g. Fishing, Archaeology) is REQUIRED to learn the mount. Non-profession specific mounts are those where the profession is not required to learn them - either non-soulbound mounts that everyone can use, like Vial of the Sands, or mounts available from other sources, like Riding Turtle.

Quick numbers:

7 total professions (5 primary, 2 secondary) are required to get all profession specific mounts
10 crafted mounts are usable by anyone, and are typically available on the Auction House
Only 4 professions have no associated mounts - Inscription, and the 3 gathering professions
All 6 new Legion mounts are profession specific

I found this carpet to be easier to get than the Magnificent one. Mainly because of the Monarch Topaz required for that one.

For the Frosty Flying Carpet, you can buy the Frozen Orbs in Dalaran and head to Lake Wintergrasp to get 20 crystallized shadow, life and fire. That is, if Lake Wintergrasp is controlled by your faction. I found the crystallized fire to drop the least frequently but maybe that was bad luck or maybe there are just fewer fire elementals than the others. Oh, and yes, the elementals do respawn. It just takes a while.

I had no competition for the spawns and it took me roughly twenty minutes to get at least 20 of each (level 85 'lock, so no problem dpsing them down).
