Was randomly dismounted from Wrathion on the way to the throne. I fell and died, and had no way to continue the quest. I abandoned the quest and at first went back to Wrathion and did not find the quest. However the quest giver is actually at the forge. Reaccepting allowed me to ride Wrathion again and get to the top - in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Wrathion was in such a hurry to fight with his sibling that he dropped me to my death on the way to the throne. Flying back to my body to rez left me with no way to continue the quest. I abandoned it and went back to the forge to grab the quest from there. I needed to put the repaired stone back again.

If Wrathion drops you to your death on his way to the throne, there is an NPC dragon named Zakastia right at the base of the throne that ferries you directly to the top. There is no need to abandon and retake the quest. Simply rez and walk straight ahead until you see the ferry.

If Wrathion dumps you and you die, even if you rez and find your way back to the throne room there's nothing going on, no npc's, and no cut scene.

It seems the only way to progress is to drop the quest and pick it up again, and hope you don't get a repeat performance.

I am so completely stuck on this one. As soon as I hit the stage where you 'Travel with Wrathion to the Throne" he takes off - no time to hitch a ride. So I fly up on my proto with just a couple of Skyward Ascents. As soon as I land in the throne room - servo ejecto. You have been disco'd. I log back in and Wrathion has a grey question mark and won't progress the quest. I still have a marker from the ground to hitch a ride up.

Ok, reset should fix it, but again, Wrathion takes off immediately, but the marker to Join him for the flight up remains. I try flying up again and notice that not only is he in the throne room as a dragon, but he's also standing half way down on one of those walls that holds the lava, as a human .. sulking I guess because he won't talk to me at all there. Or maybe he's checking the lava for the guy he dropped.

Resets and relogs don't fix it so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Hi all

I present You Storyline Wrathion's Gambit. This Storyline is part of Waking Hope which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Storyline in order I done it:

1. Wrathion Awaits - Fly 42.4 66.7 to see Wrathion
2. Lessons From Our Past - Speak with Scalecommander Emberthal Movie will start.
3a. Sharp Practice - Test the skills of 8 Blacktalon Assassins. Just speak with noobs around and fight with them.
3b. Best Plans and Intentions - You need to:
- Speak with Archivist Edress 43.7 67.2 wait until conversation finish
- Speak with Fao the Relentless 42.4 66 and after conversation press on Blacktalon Battle Plans in tent
- Speak with Forgemaster Bazentus 42.8 66.8
- Speak with Talonstalker Kavia 42.3 69.3 then use Scouting Scope
5a. Talon Strike - Djaradin defenses disrupted until 100%
5b. No Time for Heroes - Kill 3 NPC: Piercer Gigra 35.5 68.5 on top of tower , Olphis the Molten 35 66.7 , Modak Flamespit 35.4 60.6 on top of tower.
7. The Courage of One's Convictions - Speak with Wrathion then move on bridge until Movie will start. Then go inside Citadel and kill 12 mobs inside.
8. Taking the Walls - When You enter Citadel You can pick up this quest. Now You need to Speak with Wrathion He will move you to 26.8 60.1 to destroy Siege He will do it 2 more times like that. After destroy last siege go kill Champion Choruk 27.1 57.
9. Obsidian Oathstone - First speak with Wrathion the npress on Obsidian Oathstone 27.5 63.2
10. A Shattered Past - Enter vaults beneath the Citadel 27.1 61.1 and collect 12 Oathstone Fragment.
11. Forging a New Future - First go and press on Earth-Warder's Forge 24.6 60.9 then collect from Animated Cindershards mobs or pick up from Cindershard Coal 6 Cindershard Coal.
12. The Spark - First press on Forge and after few sec pick up from it Reformed Oathstone Fragments.
13. Restoring the Faith - Fly and speak with Wrathion 27.3 62.6 movie will start. After jump on Wrathion ( in dragon mode ) when You land movie will start. Finishing this quest will finish storyline.

The quest is just obvious enough but the bugs just maddening enough, to make me wonder if there's a bit of the old gods still stuck about both of them. I am convinced it's supposed to be simple: a catch-a-ride quest that needs you to catch up to him first, wave the green-loop-to-hop-on in his direction and mount up.

It seems, ~~as of 7th December 2022,~~ you are not granted progress of Wrathion's Gambit when having skipped the Obsidian Citadel Assault Quests.
Made a forum post about this, hopefully it will get some explanation if this is supposed to be.
Anyhow, it should not hinder Loremaster progress (which is an account-wide achievement), because our Main character should have done it the normal way and thus must have obtained the Waking Hope achievement.

Edit: an hour or so later I have just got credit for the missing chapter and I was granted the "Waking Hope" achievement!

If you're here before Wrathion has possibly dropped you: be ready, because he probably will, and you will die. Have a goblin glider ready to use, or a sea mist potion, etc so that you can avoid my (repeated) fate. :)

Edit 2023-07-21: either the bug is fixed, or there may be a timing element to it; if you delay talking with Wrathion for 20 seconds or so, he apparently takes you up there safely. Since I started doing this, I have not been dropped. I will continue to be as prepared as possible however. lol.

Edit 2023-08-13: The bug is not fixed in 10.1.5, so it appears to be timing-related. I have only been dropped (even after posting the edit above) if I rushed to let Wrathion fly me up. So wait a bit and save yourself some heartbreak :) I now think 10 seconds is probably sufficient.

Edit 2023-10-05: Still bugged in 10.1.7.

Okay if you get dropped and then drop the quest and can't find anyone, run back to the forge and you can pick the quest back up from the Forgemaster. It's very confusing, but I ran over there and found everyone.

I got dropped and died. I couldn't get through the doors so I just got on my flying mount and flew up and over the wall. No need to drop the quest if the only part left uncompleted is to approach Wrathion.

Hilarious how an expansion launch bug that kills you is still in the game at the very end of the expansion. Blizzard just doesn't care about quality anymore.
