Already had a Vessel of Horrific Visions in my bags and the first step of the quest did not complete when I bought a second from Wrathion
I then entered the horrific vision assuming the quest would complete, but it did not after killing Thrall
Re-logging however, fixed this, and the first step of the quest was completed and it allowed me to continue by doing the vision for the second time

8.3 quests will be pushed to you automatically if you meet the following criteria:

-Are Level 120
-Have the Heart Forge unlocked - See The Heart Forge
-Log in or zone in to Boralus or Dazar'Alor

Make sure to buy a Vessel of Horrific Visions from Wrathion before progressing. You won't get credit for the Horrific Vision if you don't do that first.

Edit: Since I saw this on the forums as well, DO NOT BUY IT BEFORE YOU HAVE THE QUEST, you won't have enough unless you're okay with waiting a few days to get more coalescing visions.

In order to go into a vision, you click on the "Tenebrous Gateway" but I had to re-log in order to click on it.

Would like to add once accepting the quest if you already HAVE a Vessel of Horrific Visions you DO NOT need to buy one. Just relog and itll skip to the next part. :)

Fulfilled both requirements of quest, but couldn't turn in quest. There's clearly a bug as I've seen several report this on the Blizz forums. Logging and/or restarting game won't fix :(

ATTENTION!

If you, like me, purchased the item(s) before accepting the quest there is a chance the quest is or will bug as in failing to recognizing the possession of the required item.

Past trail and error of various methods I found that while having the quest in your quest log and exiting the game followed by starting it up again progressed you to the next stage of the quest which allows you to enter the Horrific Vision.

Just tried to do this quest. However, once I started the Vision and it consumed my Vessel, all I got was a black screen with N'zoth on it. It never went away and all I could do was stand there losing sanity and not able to see anything.

Eventually had to Hearth out. So.. wasted a Vision and Vessel, and now can't get back in. I opened a ticket so here's hoping I get a response and maybe another chance at the Org vision...

You need to buy the Vessel of Heroic Visions from Wrathion in the Heart Chamber for 10k visions.

If you, like me stood there confused why you couldn't open it with the one in your bag you already had from who knows what rare or what box you opened and got it from. you need to buy one from him for the quest to progress at all.
it's dumb, i know right.

so buy the thing, do the thing. get it done. gg.

Is this quest solo like the ones before this one? My sole reason for for playing the 8.3 patch is for playing horrific visions solo.If possible, I'd like to start this off without a multiplayer rush fest as a forced first experience of this patch. But once I click on the portal it puts me in a queue. When looking up video guides on youtube, there are always two portals. A blue one and a red one. But I only have a red one.

If the game doesn't acknowledge that you have a Vessel in your bags from prior to accepting this quest, I found that putting the Vessel I already had into the bank, then withdrawing it back into my inventory satisfied the requirement to acquire a Vessel from Wrathion.

I was a little concerned over the cost (being a casual and all, items are hard to come by) but I bought the vessel. Do not worry about the costs, looks like you get both the vessel and the cost returned to you after completing.

Annnnnd if you fail at killing Thrall, you still pass the quest. Sanity not required!

Once in the vision you'll be given an objective to 'Slay the Disciple.' You'll have to kill two mobs by the blue entry door (which you can immediately see) in order to gain access to the objective. Use of invisibility to avoid aggroing mobs along the way is very useful. While the quest won't be successful unless you attack the disciple, you don't have to actually kill him to be successful.

Your usual Quality software by Blizzard...

I did this on a Mage and a Warlock with a VW. Mage had no problems getting by all the adds (pretty much walked down the middle). My VW though seemed to pull everything no matter how far away, so I'm guessing they're group pulls (whether by design or not who knows). So be very careful with your VW.

You dont actually need to do anything - enter the vision fully and then leave - do not kill anything - hand in quest - get momentos - SIMPLE
