If you are in a group and arrived later than your friend and suddenly you can't progress because you're in their phase (which is ahead of your quest progress), you can relog standing in this area for game to force you into the previous phase YOU need for quest. This will allow you to proceed.

To get there, take portals to Stormwind, where you can take a portal to Jade Forest. If the Mogu you need to talk to isn't standing there or obvious, look on the ground in front of Magni. Click on the Mogu on the ground.

The first time I did this quest on one toon, I arrived and switched to Wowhead to check something, and completely missed the Mantid attack. Apparently Magni took them all out for me. I also didn't get a quest ! over the Mogu's head, leading me to have to figure out who and how to talk to the Mogu.

The second time through on my second toon, I saw that the Mogu was standing when I arrived before he falls over. Then the Mantid attack happened and I killed them, then the quest ! appeared over the Mogu and I clicked on him to get the next part.

You need to meet Magni outside of Mogu'shan Terrace, NOT the Seat of Knowledge atop Mogu'shan Palace, which is nearest the Mage portal to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. If you arrive inside of the overhead tower (Seat of Knowledge) inside Mogu'shan Palace where the Lorewalkers are, you'll find a version of Magni that you cannot interact with. Your intended destination is Mogu'shan Terrace south of Zouchin Village, near the Mogu'shan Vaults meeting stone.

Do NOT go to Mogu'Shan Palace (Seat of knowledge). You can not talk to Magni there, though he is there.
Go to Kun-Lai Summit - Mogu'Shan Terrace.

Do not move too far away after you have spoken to the mogu, i accidentally went too far and the quest broke and the mantid never came, because i thought it's already over after the talk...otherwise you are going to have to go back to the chamber of heart and get the quest again....

After you finish that quest you have to pick up Essence for your current spec if you want to get and others Essence you can buy it from Zhang Ku, the Rajani quartermaster. You can find him in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms (44.45, 75.46) inside the building where you usually pick your dailies up. The price for it is 10 Corrupted Mementos.

Don't. Ever. Die.

I had 95 corruption levels on my alt. (I got corrupted items through world quests before going all in to the 8.3 quests.) When I started the fight with the mantid started, I created 2 Eyes of Corruption and one a Thing From Beyond (OMG MY WORST LUCK EVER) at the beginning which concluded an instant death.

After that, I realized I can't re-engage the fight so I had to abandon and retake the quest. But doing that removed me from the open-world instance thing and vanished Magni so I had to return to the Chamber of Heart. But I used my hearthstone to return here a while ago (from the Uldum assault) so I had to fly all the way back. This was the most ridiculous event occurred to me in modern wow times ever.

Makes me laugh everytime I do this. Sometimes the Mogu never dies, sometimes he dies when the mantid kills him (like he's supposed), sometimes he dies before I even talk to him....

Yeah this game isn't buggy...

Hello,
Supposed that you're a returning player after several years who did not play in Pandaria back then and leveled so fast that didnt really quest in there, and therefore don't have flight enabled... how do you get to the proper place for that quest, please?

(asking for a "friend" haha)

Even if you've killed the mantids, do not fly away like me thinking it's time to go to Vale of Eternal Blossoms for the next part.

Otherwise you won't get credit and won't be able to hand in the quest and can't restart the event, and you will have to abandon the quest and fly back to the chamber of heart just to get the quest from Magni inside again.

tried to do this on an alt. talked to mogu, he got killed, the mantid attack started. killed then and turned in the quest to magni. he has nothing further for me. ugh

Cho has nothing for me either. the quest is showing true using the script posted here

Description

The last I heard, Mogu'shan Vaults was still abandoned. We shouldn't have too tough of a time reachin' the engine, since we've already defeated the mogu guardians in that place. Well, what are ye waitin' for? Let's get that engine turned on!
