Cage Key drops from Hexwood Binders, so you have to hunt some for.
Drop rate isnt 100%, but quest doesnt take much time to complete.
After collecting the key, free Warren Ashton from the cage at 24.6 56.6 spot.

1. Into the Crimsonwood	Inquisitor Cleardawn - Go to see Inquisitor Cleardawn in the Crimson Forest. Go northwest	Inquisitor Cleardawn
2. Odds and Ends	Marten Webb - You need to collect 4 Organic Matter Sample ( drop from Timber Mongrel) and 3 Bag of Reagents( drop from Hexwood Seer). Mobs are on northeast	Marten Webb
3. Saving Master Ashton	Inquisitor Cleardawn - You need to free Warren Ashton He is not far but at first you need to get Cage Key that is droping from Hexwood Binder.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
4. A Little 'Pick Me Up'	Marten Webb - Speak with Warren Ashton to give him potion.	Warren Ashton
5. Deeper into the Woods	Inquisitor Cleardawn - travel on east deeper into the forest.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
6. Controlling the Situation	Warren Ashton - You need to collect 5 Control Charm they are droping from Haunted Servitor.	Warren Ashton
7. Matrons of the Crimsonwood	Warren Ashton - You need to kill: Matron Elsbeth Garrick, Matron Stefania Denholm and Matron Wilona Blackwood. You will get item to help with it Weakening Potion. All 3 are in one place on northwest.	Warren Ashton
8. Stopping the Grand Rite	Inquisitor Cleardawn - You need to destroy 3 Ritual Foci. One is on south other 2 on north.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
9. Witch Way Out?	Inquisitor Cleardawn - You need to free 10 Captive Villager they are in cages you dont need to pick up any keys. Thay are on Northwest.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
10. In the Hall of the Drust King	Inquisitor - You must defeat Gorak Tul. First of all move on southeast you will see enterence to chamber go inside will ne short animation after will be fight with Gorak Tul when he will go under 25% hp he will run and his army will rise up .As well chamber is going to collapse and you need to run out. 11. Stick It To 'Em!	Inquisitor - Use Greater Control Charm to control Crimsonwood Demolisher that thing standing next to chamber entrance. Use it do destroy army ( get to 100% ) Skill 1 &2 are doing damage 3 movement spreed. When you will get 100% you will need to go on north. When you will get there speak with Inquisitor Cleardawn He will call Gryphons to take you to Arom's Stand. After finish this quest you will reach part of Drust Do It..	Inquisitor Cleardawn

I didn't need a key the last time I did it, but it was on a rogue, so maybe they don't have to?

May just be luck or buggy but after i killed a dozen or so and no key I abandoned quest. First kill after picking it up again i got the key.

Master Ashton says: "The things I've seen... The horror, the horror". The "horror" part has to be the line from the movie "Apocalypse Now" from Francis Ford Coppola. That line was said by Marlon Brando. Also starred Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall ("I love the smell of napalm in the morning"), Lawrence Fishburne (Morpheus from The Matrix) whos looks so young and thin it's hard to recognize him. And other actors who were very successful, like Dennis Hopper. It's a must-see. It's the only movie in my life that I've ever stayed sitting down to watch 2 consecutive shows in a row.
