I was stuck (as many people were) on the very first part. For some reason the book needs to "load information."

Me and buddy found that if you try to loot the book (which is in the top left corner across the table) Just leave you character there and it'll look like you're lagging but just leave him there and eventually the quest will update allowing you to place a nonexistant book on the table.

I tried the suggested "fixes" here and nothing worked....at least for me. There were 2 others standing around the first book trying to sort something. I dropped the quest, restarted WoW, picked up the quest and it worked fine. I had also disabled all addons for the quest; just in case.

Essentially I turned it off and turned it back on again...

This seems to be buggy for a few people as of writing this comment. Can't pick up the book needed - no inventory pop-up or anything.

Bit of a fun fact: in beta, you can actually fight a mogu instead of a dragon while on this quest. Not sure why it was changed.

Legion is absolutely killing it with these unique quests. Blizz clearly heard some people complaining about boring, repetitive fetch quests and are stepping up their game.

I'm doing these quests... and noticing that all my hunter pets are 'carrying' a book... as well as a lot of companion pets you summon!

All of them will hold them in their 'hand'... or paw, or whatever it is they have. Though with some pets it doesn't quite work out... my floating pets the book either sways around mid-air with them, or is stuck halfway into the ground. With 'bipedal' pets like Crusher or Terky, it works really well though!

Just something silly I noticed - try it with your pets! (I'll try to upload some screenshots maybe!)

OK to clarify, you don't actually loot anything. No loot window will open. Click, the book, wait a good minute, and then you will see the book vanish. In front of the quest giver a table will appear. Click the table.....continue on. A loot window is suppose to open as the parts after the first do but for some reason for right now this is how the first part works until it's fixed.

My workaround for the "can't loot the book" bug:

Basically assume the loot window is there but invisible, and click around the screen where it should've popped up. This worked for me (the one time I encountered the bug) so ymmv.

I wish someone would actually comment with some useful info rather than all these omg's, how cute, how wonderful crap that are all quite useless. How about something like where you go, where the books actually are, how you get them etc?

I'm not sure but I think this quest no longer exists. I skipped straight from Wanding 101 to Pop Quiz, completed the chain and got the ach. I never saw this quest (neither it nor the books seem to be there).

If you started this quest but didn't finish it, and now you can't figure out where you need to be, it's underground and the entrance can be found at /way 53.8, 40.5

Beast Master Hunters have a disadvantage here as well as with every quest in the Academy. The student disguise removes your artifact weapon. Even if you re equip your weapon the mechanism of the game will ensure you still fight as though you are equipped with a wand. This means that you lose the ability to have Haiti and your damage is severely diminished.
Apparently this is a common bug with ranged and magic casters.
If this happens to you unequip your artifact weapon and equip it again. If this does not solve the issue logging out and back in should fix it.

Edit: 1) Strikethrough- Not an every time occurrence like the comment may suggest.
2) Fix action should the bug be encountered.

Does anybody else have to right-click the table twice to actually 'enter' the book? On every character I've taken through this and my friend's characters, you have to click the table multiple times for it to actually register. The first click does nothing while the second click actually takes you into the sketch world

In case anyone's markers bug out like mine did and you can't find the last book (because the minimap area is misleadingly large), they're all in the same area; one on the rightmost bookshelf, one on a stack in front of that bookshelf, and the third in an open chest on the floor in front of the bookshelf.

Mine didn't spawn the third book, had to abandon the quest and take it again. Doesn't take long.
