This quest could appear to be bugged out. The shrine is directly behind the quest giver. Use the /lay command before attempting to drink the water.

Note that you want to use the Flask of Moonwell Water in your bag while you're next to Lea. Do not use your Dreamwalk spell, like I did, or you'll have to Dreamwalk back to Lea and drink it.

Drink your Flask of Moonwell Water to enter the Emerald dream, Lea will join you soon. Fight your way to Spirit of Ursoc. Dont worry if Lea got killed, she wount die through this scenario. After you reached Ursoc, there is a fight starts. Few friendly npcs will join your party and help you to fight. There will be four waves of assaulters and then Xavius will come, stun all friendly npcs around and let his minion Arch-Desecrator Malithar grab Claws of Ursoc. You only have to kill Arch-Desecrator Malithar to obtain claws.

1. When Dreams Become Nightmares (Scenario)
• Accept the quest, When Dreams Become Nightmares, from Lea Stonepaw at coords 51.2, 36.8 (Grizzlemaw in the Grizzly Hills).
• While standing at the Shrine of Ursol near 51, 37, drink the Flask of Moonwell Water to enter the Emerald Dream.

Stage 1 - Ursoc's Lair
• Defeat Rothoof Defiler on your journey through Ursoc's Lair.
• Travel to coords 48.8, 51.4.

Stage 2 - The Light in The Dark
• Travel to the area of 49, 33, and assist the Spirit of Ursoc, by killing Rothoof Defiler.

Stage 3 - The Nightmare Approaches
• Fight Blightborn Sludge and Rothoof Shadowstalker mobs while performs a ritual to retrieve the Claws of Ursoc.

Stage 4 - The Nightmare Continues
• During the second wave, protect your group by tanking Rothoof Defiler and Rothoof Shadowstalker.
• The Rothoof Shadowstalker will sometimes use the ability, Nightmare Step, to reappear behind you.

Stage 5 - The Nightmare Continues
• During the third wave, you will tank Blightborn Sludge and Corrupted Defender.
• When Corrupted Defender casts Nightmare Gasp, step out of the cone attack to avoid its damage.

Stage 6 - The Nightmare Continues
• During the final wave, protect your group by tanking a pair of Corrupted Defender.
• After the Corrupted Defender die, you and your group will be rooted to the ground with Tendrils of Agony, and the Shade of Xavius will arrive with Arch-Desecrator Malithar.

Stage 7 - The Fallen One
• Arch-Desecrator Malithar will run over to the Claws of Ursoc, and pick them up.
• Tank Arch-Desecrator Malithar.
• Face him away from the group, so that no one else, but you gets afflicted with Crushing Thrash.
• Head to 50.1, 26.5, and pick up your artifact weapon, the Claws of Ursoc.
• Speak with Lea Stonepaw to go back to the normal realm.
• Turn in the quest to Lea Stonepaw.

Quest is completely doable as catform. As with all spec quests just swap to your desired spec after accepting the initial series of quests.

another buggy quest -- if you die like I did, you can come back to the same place but you'll find it empty.. Worse, the Abandon button does not work - grayed out.

Zharshoul's comment about using your favorite spec is probably the best approach. The two big bugs I ran into in Guardian form were 1) You're constantly losing health at some rate, even while not in battle, so you literally can't win. 2) You can't use bandages or healing potions, which doesn't make any sense but it seems that many of the normal class mechanics in Legion work only intermittently. No consolation but the Mage series is even worse - nothing works. You just keep dying until your repair bill begins to resemble the national debt.

Killing the bad guys was easy in Guardian form, but then you die too. After the third time, I switched to Feral, Prowled past all the trash and made it through the final 273 stages of the quest only dying once, again because my self-healing mechanics stopped working. Weird and buggy series, which could have been a lot of fun except that a lot of things simply didn't work consistently and others didn't work at all. Good luck and just keep swimming; you'll get to the Azores eventually.

I liked this scenario more than the other tanking ones that I've done so far (Paladin and DK). Unlike a lot of the other "kill the thing, get the loot" artifact scenarios, it's a bit more like the Proving Grounds in that it has you apply basic tanking skills. Little ones, like "don't drop the bad on your party members" and "don't face the boss towards your party if it has a cleave or a breath."

Most of those bugs (or gripes) players experienced before seem to have been fixed. Either that or it's a lot easier with a certain level, item level, spec, talents, etc.
The first artefact weapon I obtained was G'Hanir as I prefer the role of a healer over that of a tank. So I went into the Claws' story with my restoration spec & equipment.
I'd usually preferred feral as my secondary for questing (or temporary dps), but ever since those Affinity talents were introduced, I've often kept the Balance one instead.
Did most of the whole event in moonkin form (lvl 103, ilvl 716). Only really had to heal myself (significantly so!) in the two phases when those larger brutes spawned.
The NPC's healing only came in larger surges it seemed, so it didn't suffice to heal a restoration moonkin tank. Ursoc helped a little with the "tanking" in phase 3 though.
It was close, momentarily, but I'm glad no one died, heh. Also, I'd say the restoration artefact fight was somewhat more hectic and erratic altogether.

If you happen to not have the Flask of the Moonwell Water, you can use the Shrine of Ursol directly behind Lea to get back to the Emerald Dream.

just did this scenario three times in a row with Highmountain, Kul'Tiran and Zandalari allied races.

for all three of them, upon picking up the Claws, their models defaulted to the checkered cube during the mini cutscene. not sure if it is a glitch on my end.

also, Lea Stonepaw repeats her 'lets get out of here' line twice

Did anyone else find issues using certain moves? It tells me "invalid target" when I tried to moonfire or charge to things. I thought it was that I needed to be in bear spec at first, but then I still had issues. I mean my druid is level 60 now, so it was easy to auto attack kill things, but annoying still.

This bugged out on me at Stage 5, Surviving the third assault.
I discovered if I attacked one of the ?red tree guys? by the wall, it started up again and I was able to complete it.

Now that we have Ursol's blessing, we can safely pass the magical wards and reach the claws' resting place!

Now, we must pass into the Dream. Lay down before the Shrine of Ursol and drink of the moonwater you brought earlier and your spirit will drift off into the dream.

Be careful, the Dream can be a dangerous place.
