While I can't find another person, I gave him a go alone, and found that you can just faceroll tank him easily without using any other tricks at all. What a surprisingly easy 3m hp mini-boss to me.

It's worth noting that this is a pretty sweet place to farm bodyguard rep. Each kill of this boss and his minions nets about 500-1000 rep, depending on how long you take to kill.

Below is a list of the garrison Bounty quests. These are obtained from visitors to your garrison - each day you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a Bounty quest NPC. Other possibilities for visitors include Harrison Jones, a trade vendor, a dungeon quest NPC, or a raid quest NPC. The bounty quest NPC is Shadow Hunter Ty'jin (Horde) or Renzik "The Shiv" (Alliance).

You can visit the garrison of friends who have the bounty quest NPC to get the quests (or use the group finder if people have been kind enough to list groups with this NPC).

Bloody Stack of Invitations has a chance to drop from the mini-bosses that are the target of the daily Bounty quest. This includes Tremor, Undertow, etc. as per the chart above. When it drops, only a single Bloody Stack of Invitations drops per group (rather than for every group member). However, the 3 Ring of Blood Invitation inside can be distributed by the person receiving the stack.

Each of the Bloody Stack of Invitations contains 3 Ring of Blood Invitation. The Ring of Blood Invitations are BoE and can be sold or traded on the Auction House.

The Ring of Blood Invitation initiates a quest (The World Famous Ring of Blood!) that involves killing 5 opponents in the Ring of Blood, and rewards Mogor's Cache, containing gold, Apexis Crystals, and follower upgrade tokens/follower armor sets.

I was having problem soloing this guy as a WW monk until I figured out that you can kite him around and, for some reason, his adds will despawn or just stop following. So just focus boss and back up a lot and the adds will typically not be a problem. Unless you have decent AOE, they'll tear you up pretty quick. Otherwise this guy doesn't do anything of note.

It seems noteworthy that if you use a pet as a tank in this fight (e.g. as a solo hunter) take care so the pet doesn't slip into the rocks or it may become unattackable for Ik'rix or the hivelings he spawns. Particularly when he leaps to the other side of the rock to call them, immediately make use of either of the pet commands Follow or Stay, or its Passive stance to put it into a safe (exposed) position or reset it to your side, so it doesn't follow him through the rocks and ends up in some awkward place. Doing so may even keep the hivelings from joining the fight right away, so you have more time to attack Ik'rix. Next time he leaps, he will most likely wake them, but they may then even despawn before you have to kill them all the way, which greatly reduces the damage they'd do to the pet. You can even slow them and kite them, but it shouldn't really be necessary and you can just keep standing in one place for the whole fight. Just be quick enough to kill at least some of the little ones, mostly by letting your AoE do the trick (Multi-Shot - Incendiary Ammo - ) and they're done for.
Should the pet die though, just Narrow Escape or Posthaste away and quickly revive it.

I agree with HarlWindWolf, that this fight is easily solo-able as a hunter, it just takes me a while. However, I've never finished killing him and it's probably because of the reason HarlWindWolf listed, him jumping everywhere wildly might make him be in a position where for some stupid reason, he can't attack my pet OR me and always right around 50% he evade bugs and resets. It's really, REALLY annoying since it takes about 3 or 4 minutes to get him to 50% on my hunter.

I'm wondering if it's actually the fact that he's on rocks where he can't attack my pet or myself, or if it's because he's leashed in a pretty small area. It's always about 50% when he evades, has been targeting both myself OR my pet when it happens. I've also tried killing his adds when they spawn, and ignoring them, and that doesn't change anything either.

However, since I've fought him a dozen times trying to complete this quest, I can tell you HarlWindWolf is on to something about all of Ik'rix's adds. If you ignore them, they eventually do go away, but will eventually return again - and when they do, another round of the 6 or 8 guys are added, increasing the total number each time, doubling, then tripling, so on. But even as Marksman, they still really don't hurt my tank pet (a bear in this case) as long as I toss him a heal every once in a while. I don't know how many times they will keep increasing in numbers because, as I said, Ik'rix always evade bugs out at 50% for me and there are only 3 rounds of his adds at that time.

Since no one other than HarlWindWolf has mentioned this evading issue, I feel like maybe it's a pet tanking (like warlock with a tanking minion) or hunter issue only? Has any other class encountered this super annoying problem? Or perhaps it really is a leashing issue like I originally thought? This really bugs me and I'm left with no options but to submit yet another ticket for another broken issue in WoW - for me, anyway. If I learn anything about leashing or whatever I'll update this, unless someone else knows the answer and has posted a reply by then. Thanks to anyone with helpful advice about this, it's driving me crazy!

Retrieve the Iceshatter Carapace from Hivelord Ik'rix at Southwind Cliffs in Frostfire Ridge.

Description

We've got a radical new idea to try using ice ravager carapaces in our tempering process for armor and weapons. It's the sort of trailblazing work we strive for, commander!

Only problem is, ravagers apparently aren't keen on our guys and gals taking their carapaces off of them. There's this particular ravager at the Southwind Cliffs in Frostfire Ridge called Hivelord Ik'rix - if you could take him down we wouldn't need more for weeks!
