As of this build garrosh seems to be overlapping with his throne and evades all attacks making the scenario impossible to finish.

Btw, you will NOT be able to defeat Garrosh on your own so don't start panicking or getting upset if you can't get his health down much, just keep fighting him tho and then eventually the roleplay will kick in and then enjoy the amazing kick ass conclusion cinematic! ;)

Pretty much broken. Mobs aggro from halfway across the map, companions run off on their own and die, and Garrosh hits like a truck.

There is an issue with this quest that you might not be able to speak with Durotan. While you enter the area it feels like you get an instance change just like when you get into your own Garrison and you face a lag spike. After that when you try to speak with Durotan it will not work and he will not do anything.

Some people say that waiting around an hour next to Durotan will fix it, but i didn't have that much time to try it. I have tried to interact with him 3-4 times on different days and it was always the same. And one day i've tried to enter the area from the Western part of the mountain instead of the Eastern part and somehow it worked. Maybe it was just random but might be a solution for others too.

When I came up to the top I found a small gap in the barricade to the right of the gate. Yrel wasn't there. I attacked Garrosh who de-spawned. I went back to the gate, turned around and Yrel was there. I couldn't talk to her but all went smoothly from there on. I attacked Garrosh again, at 50% quest was done.

Currently bugged for me. I can't speak to Durotan - he just idly sits there after I click his dialogue.

Edit: If his dialogue doesn't work, it seems to phase you out of the server. You can't accept group invites, hearth, or do any action for that matter. NPC's and mobs all despawn, you see nothing outside of a ~40 yard area beyond Durotan. Definitely a phasing issue

Be sure you follow the path Durotan takes killing all "necessary" mob. If you deviate at all (say thru the gate on your right, just below the one that fortifies Garrosh) you will find he despawns when attacked during final stage of the scenario.

If this happens (or if you have despawn issue) track back and retrace Durotan's path from where you may have deviated, making sure to kill any remaining wolf riders, etc. along the way. Doing this and a /reload seemed to fix my "despawn problem" ... at least it did for me =]

Durotan must have been very confused when Garrosh said to Thrall:

Very well, shaman. We finish this alone, where it all began...
...at the Stones of Prophecy.

As far as Durotan knows, Garrosh and Thrall came from some strange other world, along with the rest of the Alliance and Horde. (If you click on Vindicator Yrel or Rangari D'kaan after the quest is over, they both talk about Garrosh and the player coming from a very different world that they obviously don't understand.) Given what he knew, Durotan must have wondered how Garrosh and Thrall could possibly have begun anything at the Stones of Prophecy. (I think you could even say that Durotan was...ahem...stunned when he heard it.) To me, it seems strange that things were just left that way. Seriously, when will Durotan demand that someone tells him what the hell is going on?

The cinematic was cool, though! If you want to play it again inside the game, click on Gorehowl, which Thrall left in place. Just look to the north for Garrosh's remains, which are easy to spot from the Stones of Prophecy (where you wind up at the end of this quest). From a distance, what's left of Garrosh looks like a grey boulder that doesn't belong where it is. The coordinates are 68.8, 28.2.

The rest of this comment explains the relevant history in case people don't know or forgot...
Two important things happened earlier at the Stones of Prophecy, but only the first one involved both Garrosh and Thrall. Horde players could witness it during a scripted event that was originally part of the BC quest Hero of the Mag'har. When Cata came out and Garrosh replaced Thrall as Warchief, the quest was removed, but the scripted event was retained and added to the end of There Is No Hope. In the scripted event (Wowpedia has a nice transcript), Thrall traveled to Garadar (in Outland) to visit Greatmother Geyah (she is a follower in WoD) because he found out that she was Durotan's mother and therefore his grandmother. At her request, Thrall inspired Garrosh, who had been very depressed and fatalistic, by taking him to the nearby Spirit Circle (a circle inside the stones) and showing him a vision of how Garrosh's father, Grommash, had redeemed himself by killing Mannoroth. In hindsight, that seemed to work a bit too well. (In the cinematic, Garrosh said, "You made me what I am," but Thrall disagreed with extreme prejudice.)

Years later, after doing a bunch of bad things, Garrosh escaped to an alternate Draenor. According to a short story on Blizzard's website, Garrosh led that world's Grommash to the equivalent place (now called the "Stones of Prophecy") and showed Grommash visions there that convinced him to trust Garrosh. That led to the Iron Horde that we are currently battling.

The stones over and around the spirit circle in BC look roughly similar to the Stones of Prophecy in WoD and the surrounding geography is also similar, but the open field where Garrosh and Thrall fight in WoD is occupied by Garadar in BC. If you want to check out BC's Spirit Circle to compare it to WoD's Stones of Prophecy, it's just south of Garadar at 54.6, 39.8 in Nagrand.

There is a point in the quest scenario that gets somewhat confusing. Most of the time, you can just stay close to Durotan and go wherever he goes. However, at about the fourth stage, Durotan tells you to flank around to the west while he blows up a gate and goes straight ahead. You are supposed to meet up with him again, but where to do that isn't clear. The scenario instructions just tell you to go to the "rally point up the hill," but the area is fairly flat. Worse, the blue area on your minimap will show Garrosh's location, but Durotan barely moves toward Garrosh during that stage, so you don't want to go there. If you do get close to Garrosh, he just says some things and Durotan doesn't show up.

When Durotan tells you to flank around to the west, you will be in front of a gate at about 75, 76. Go west across a shallow gully, then go south parallel to it for a while. When you get to 70, 81 (where the little stream is leaving Grommashar) turn east and go up until you reach a very sorry looking fence at 73.5, 81. You could easily walk through gaps in the fence to reach the last gate before Garrosh, but don't go that way. Instead, go north (away from Garrosh) and meet Durotan near 75, 77.5, just inside the gate where you left him. Enabling objective tracking, but disabling beast and humanoid tracking (if you have them), should help you find his location on the minimap.

When you reach Durotan and click on him, he tells you that it would be impossible to get past the pathetic fence that had big gaps in it, so you will have to use another route, which involves killing Durn the Hungerer, to get to the gate in front of Garrosh. Even though that's ridiculous, if you just stay near Durotan, the rest of the scenaro will work out. At least it did for me.

The coordinates are only somewhat close because I figured them out by stealthing back in. I couldn't measure Durotan's exact location since he wasn't there.

So, am I the only one disappointed with the cutscene? Feels like Thrall cheated by using spells in the duel instead of letting the Doomhammer do the job it was built for.

The cinematic for this is good. But really the story line in the game that leads up to this is amazingly garbage considering that's supposed to be one of the strong points for this game.

You really can't understand what is going on unless you read the books. And trying to tell a story in game with buggy scenarios is really really getting old.

Probably one of the most anti-climatic "story lines" I've ever seen.

At the end of the quest line, after the cinematic, you can talk to all of the NPCs standing around underneith the Circle of Prophecy.

The quotes are pretty much the same for an Alliance character.

But if your world created monsters like Garrosh – why should we trust you?

The Archmage tells me that Garrosh set all of these events in motion.He was a criminal from your world, yes? I have never seen the orcish idea of “justice” before.

I would say that it is over, but this war is just only begginning. Grommash's Iron Horde continues to grow stronger. My people will never be safe so long as his foundries continue churring out their terrible weapons. We draenai were not ready for this fight, but we must be preparred to finish it.

There are shadows before us, but only because we have the light at our back.

Khadgar:

We've closed this chapter. But Garrosh only set these events in motion... We'll still have to close all of the loops if we want to keep Azeroth safe. That means finding and neutralizing Gul'dan.

<Khadgar breaths a heavy sigh.>

Still a little celebration is in order before we get back to business. I've got a bottle of aged Dalaran red saved up for just such an occasion. If you'd care to meet me in my tower later.

The archmage is gearing up for another campaign. All he can talk about is finding Gul'dan.

But I worry...Gul'dan has already tried to kill Khadgar once. The Archmage is going to need al the help he can get.

We Frostwolves have always walked alone, with only our wolves at our side. But, our clan is part of this world, and it's clear we have a role to play in protecting it.

This “Garrosh” was a dangerous one. Still, he showed us something valuable. I see now that, united, the orcs can be great. It is more important than ever to have a righteous voice to guide them.

The Frostwolves may be that voice.

Durotan:

Garrosh came out of nowhere, and manipulated the clans as you would play a drum. It is good that he is finished.

But, the damage is already done. It's like I don't recognize my own people anymore. Grommash Hellscream has turned family and friends alike against one another, and it has to stop. We must dismantle his war machine: First by taking out his ogre allies, then by demolishing the Blackrock Foundry.

After that, we will bring Hellscream himself to justice. Just as we've seen today.

I'm finding myself agreeing with many of Garrosh's points as they spoke during the fight. Thrall did raise Garrosh to power and run off, without so much as being present to provide council. None can excuse the depravity of Garrosh, but while he was risen largely due to the fact he would command respect from the success of his efforts in Northrend, his ruthless nature was clearly evident there, and such types don't end well when handed absolute power.

Garrosh would have never been Warchief and been permitted the sort of power he had to abuse and feed his darker tendencies, and Thrall as a leader ought have recognized that while strong in combat, he lacked the poise to lead a delicate confederation. Garrosh is responsible for his actions, but Thrall plays a major role for failing to see what Garrosh was and giving him power one as such should never have.

I dc'd during the invasion/assault and of course when I reentered the game, all the mobs were gone. My progression list indicated that I 'needed to speak with Durotan' (so it had restarted). And the kicker was that the gates were all closed and there was no way out but to hearth back to my garrison.

Ugly, ugly issues with bugs on this one. I am not surprised.

I just completed this quest on my horde main Warlock. The epic upgrade I thought was 10 ilvl's, but my quest reward ended up as ilvl 630 Thundercaller's Cowl. Maybe with the new Tanaan Jungle content they upped the ilvl's of the random upgrades to help people early on as they continue to the new zone.

Now that flying is out, if you approach the starting area in flight you will be abruptly dismounted and teleported to a place nearby. After that you can't fly throughout the rest of the quest, although the random mount button will summon flying mounts for you. You will also be randomly dismounted after a short amount of time if you do that because of the Targeted for Elimination debuff.

So I finally was able to finish the quest. Yesterday, I could not complete stage 7 or 7 so I just left it unfinished (I DID NOT abandon it) and went back to garrison for the night. Today, I want to Wor’var and disabled all of my add-ons at the location. Then I rode to the Gates of Grommashar and the quest had reset. I went through the quest again (this time with no add-ons) and there was no issues. I hope this helps.

I just finish this quest now!

After like 2 h of reading and trying to finish this quest i figuerd it out that after pach 8.1.0 if you have interface addons it will bug the scenario.

If you wanna finish this quest deactivate all your addons and do the scenarios withouth addons.

Currently bugs out on final stage "Confront Warlord Garrosh Hellscream".

Garrosh is not entering the spammy talky phase, he becomes untargetable when you reduce him to 0hps and just follows you around whacking you.

Quest is bugged at the final stage. Disabled addons, dismissed pets. Garrosh is untargetable just like others mention.
Submitting a ticket but I have 0 hope it will get fixed.

I had the same bug, cleared cache, tried without addons and with Resurrection Sickness debuff.
But what i came with: started to hit Garrosh just near the throne, and Trall suddenly had appeared, and event was finished.

So here are steps that worked for me:

I did the scenario with disabled addons and Garrosh still get stuck
teleported to garrison and closed wow ( I did NOT abandon the quest)
scan and repair
returned to the gate and started scenario from beginning
From the first step I saw that friendly NPCs and Durotan are more active than before. In final step I just let Garrosh talk all his lines and then slowly started to melee him, he stunned me and Thrall came, blabla, cinematic, complete.

About the Bug in 8.1:

Following the hints in the comments, I deactivated my addons and started a scan and repair on the wow files. Back in game the scenario started anew. One important thing is, I believe, to let Garrosh run all his dialogues bevor you attack him.
Finally, I finished the Quest. Good luck to everyone facing the same issue.

If you're completing the scenario, but upon exit you're getting stuck in a "moveable" black screen, use the Character Unstuck function.

This quest has been bugged to high heaven for years now. Likely no real fix incoming.

Quest is now bugging out for me at Stage 3, Defeat Packmaster Grokglok. I kill him in one hit and the next stage won't load. I can't even use toy sword on him because the allies who fight alongside me also one-hit him. Whole body shrinka and disrobed completely don't help.

EDIT: Good news is that if you have a decent enough mobility spell/ability you can work your way around the closed gate to Garrosh directly and start the fight. I was able to get the cutscene to trigger and complete the quest following it without any issues. Thankfully!
