To go along with the new The Black Prince faction there are some quests that end with the reward of a legendary item, the Breath of the Black Prince! This item is likely used to upgrade your gear in some way. Before helping Wrathion, you first share a drink with him while talking about the future of Azeroth.

The first quest in the series requires an honored reputation level, which is earned by killing the mogu and mantid in the Townlong Steppes and the Dread Wastes, as well as any raid creatures.

You must also collect Sigil of Wisdom x 10 and Sigil of Power x 10 from Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, or Terrace of Endless Spring. While you are raiding, you need to defeat the Sha of Fear in Terrace of Endless Spring to obtain a Chimera of Fear.

At some point after this he will reward you with a Breath of the Black Prince, but the quests are not chained yet, so we can't be certain as to what the requirements are.

According to the quest descriptions he seems heavily invested in the fate of Pandaria, even hinting towards the oncoming Horde and Alliance war fleets that will turn the beach of Krasarang Wilds into a battlezone in Patch 5.1.

the big question is if the enchant will depend on class as well, since DKs are atm. relying on their runeforging for a boost compared to normal enchants. so if they still are so in MoP and end up with same enchants it will be bad

At the moment there are 9 Weapons that can hold the gems awarded by this quest

After obtaining the first gem, additional gems will be 10,000 gold.

I can confirm that you can buy any type of gem after receiving your reward for 10,000 gold by simply speaking to Wrathion.

If you want another Gem (and you don't have a weapon to socket it), put it on the Void Storage and talk to Wration, he will have the option available.

This apparently is the only safe way to obtain another (other than deleting and hoping it will show on Item Recovery).

You need to pay 10k as normal.

Wrathion turns into a Black Whelp (those cute baby dragons) after he hands you the gem and flies away.

Consider he's still a baby in dragon age (new Cata players gets the opportunity to meet him while he was still in his egg) so in "mortal" time he's younger than the player.

But it's still funny sight, especially after all his grand words and dazzling magic...then poof, true form baby dragon.

You turn this quest in at 75, 76 on th top of a mountain. Right click on The Hammer of Folly on the ground. You will get the hammer in your inventory and it can be vendored for 100 G. After you right click the hammer Wrathion will come walking up the stairs. Watch a short cutscene and grab your reward.

Wrathion's dialogue upon completion of the quest:

As you walk into the tavern:

Wrathion says: You are looking pale, my friend. I trust you have not allowed fear to get the better of you?

Quest "Fear Itself" completed

Wrathion says: Allow me to gather up my things, and I will meet you there.

After you take a short trip to the east to Mason's Folly, wait momentarily on top of the hill, Wration will come up the steps shortly thereafter:

Wrathion says: I often venture out here to think, the view is breathtaking, would you agree?
Wrathion says: Pandaria is indeed a jewel. Such beauty. It makes you want to protect her, yes?
Wrathion says: I feel the same way about Azeroth herself.
Wrathion says: You have done great things friend. I can assure you this is but the beginning of our work together.
Wrathion says: Behold: The power of the foes you've vanquished.
Wrathion says: And the wisdom of those you've outsmarted.
Wrathion says: Here! The embodiment of the fear that you've conquered. May it now strike terror into the hearts of your enemies!
Wrathion says: Finally, a gift from me. Make no mistake: The Black Dragonflight lives on!
Wrathion says: There. My work is done. You can now greatly augment the power of any sha-touched weapon.

Breath of the Black Prince completed.

Wrathion says: We are just getting started, friend! Our greatest challenges lie ahead.
Wrathion says: But when war comes to these shores, you and I will be ready for it.

Wrathion transforms into a whelp, and flies back to the tavern to await completion of the quest "Incoming..."

Although this one may not be a prerequisite, the next quest in logical order is: Incoming... That quest was originally about waiting for patch 5.1 "Landfall."

The final Legendary will be a Gem of your choice giving you +500 of your chosen stat, the Gem choices are as follows:

Agility - Crystallized Dread

Strength - Crystallized Terror

Intellect - Crystallized Horror

Each Gem is a Reward Choice from the quest Breath of the Black Prince in which upon completion will also give you:

118,000 experience

75 reputation with The Black Prince

and the Achievement Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince

If you haven't done this quest yet, make sure the game music is turned on before you travel to Mason's Folly. A nice strings piece will play when you're talking to Wrathion. It really enhances the scene. You'll really be missing out if you have the music turned off for this, moreso because at the time of this comment's posting, no YouTube videos showing the quest include the music.

If you already did the quest and missed out on the chilling music, I feel no pity for you. But I'm a nice guy, so here's a script you can paste into the chat window to hear it play:

When Wrathion transforms, he somewhat has the model of a Searing Whelp. He then flies away as that model.

I haven't played with sound on since literally BC, so when I read these comments about the music during this quest I turned it on and it was pretty epic.

THEN he turns into a tiny whelp, makes a funny noise and flies away. I DIED ROFL AFTER ALL THAT HE SQUEAKS AND TAKES OFF AS A TINY DRAGON. Intentionally hilarious or not it was awesome.

Players who complete a series of quests for Wrathion in Mists of Pandaria will be rewarded with one epic (purple) cloak and one legendary (orange) gem.

As with all quests, Customer Support does not assist players who accidentally select the wrong item as their reward. However, these players can purchase an alternate version of Wrathion's cloaks and gems from the Blacktalon Quartermaster.

Regardless of your character's reputation with Wrathion, the Blacktalon Quartermaster offers these items with the following limitations:

The legendary Crystallized gems (item level 513) will only be available to characters who have completed Breath of the Black Prince
The Eye of the Black Prince will only be available to characters who have completed Call of the Packmaster (Alliance) or The Soul of the Horde (Horde).
The legendary Primal Diamond gems will only be available to characters who have completed The Crown of Heaven.
The original epic cloaks (item level 600) will only be available to characters who have completed Cloak of Virtue
The Timeless Essence of the Black Dragonflight will only be available to charactersA Pandaren Legend.leted A Pandaren Legend.

If you fly over to Mason's Folly and he's not there, go down to the bottom of the steps, get onto a land mount, and then ride up to the top on your land mount. That should trigger it.
