Currently in the beta this quest is very frustrating- mobs that are tagged by anyone else don't count, and it's extremely easy to tag stuff. Additionally you have to be careful to stay in the area, as there is no warning, you just get kicked off the mount.

Same issue here. Tagging and vehicle boundary are both very annoying. Headbutt really doesn't do enough damage, Leap Smash has a very short range.

I never knew it was so difficult to be Icehowl.

Upon completeing this quest it becomes a daily. However i cant find that it gives you any reward other than 13g 60s

So, let me make sure I understand this. We get a wild animal addicted to coffee then bribe it to wantonly slaughter local sentient life in a land where violence can make very bad things happen, then we come back the next day and do it all again.

We're the good guys here, right?

At 90 it allowed me to do the quest get the boots gear reward and I received 21g20s. As for daily you get 13g62s at 90. The boots were worth 13g32s. Total no where close to 121g as reported above.

Is this the only quest required for "Burlap Trail" in order to get credit for it in Slum It In the Summit as part of Loremaster of Pandaria? I've done the initial quest and the daily just after it and still show in my achievements a grayed out portion for that quest.

I really liked this quest. The only two numbers on the controls you need to worry about are "1" (Leap Smash) and "4" (Hozen Snack). All the Hozen you need to kill are over by where the Sha pops up. Just go right out the front entrance of the base camp and head up the first road that goes left. Keep in mind that "1" (Leap Smash) requires you to be far enough away from all the Hozen to actually "leap" towards them. The targeting mechanism won't work if you are too close to the crowd you want to destroy. When you see your health going down, hit "4" (Hozen Snack) to feed yourself and top it off. Use an avoidance pattern during cool down of "1" and "4" if your health is too low and it won't take any time at all to kill 100 Hozen. My son loved this quest - it's something like a cross between "Whack A Mole" and "Frogger" in a twisted way. You whack them when you leap and avoid the traffic during cool downs.

If you are doing this questline to try and get the Hozen-Fur Fuse for the Brawler's Guild, just thought I'd inform everyone that you can in fact get it on the initial mass slaughter quest. It doesn't have to be the daily version to get it. You will know if you get the item when it pops up LFR style loot at the top of your screen. Good luck out there!

A very useful quest for getting in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms as soon as you reach level 87 (instead of gaining access via the Temple of the White Tiger quests). Travel to the Kota Base Camp and do the quests to get Kota Kon down from the mountain. After smashing 100 Hozen, simply ride Kota Kon down to the Golden Gate. To the left of the gate, there's a low spot on the mountain top that can be reached using the jump ability. Once at the top, just dismount and "carefully" fall to a small ledge down below. Once there, it's just a series of low falls til you reach the bottom. Then just ride to whichever Shrine is yours (Horde or Alliance) and get the flight point.

Great. This thing dies on the slightest touch of anything. 10 Hozens per attempt. Do I really have to repeat this 10 times? I can’t tell you how much I hate those vehicle quests, not only in Pandaria. They destroy the whole questing experience. Utterly.

Goddaϻn, Blizzard, please spare us with these vehicle quests if you don’t have one who is able to program them properly! And remove them alltogether from the old content, so that we can level our alts without those childish annoyances.

But, I know, you want to sell your level boosts...

So basically this quest has become a nightmare after the scaling changes.
Blizz seems to keep forgetting to check on how this impacts certain quests,Burning Crusade mobs and some other zone quests seems to suffer the most.
I did this quest a long long time ago and it wasn't this bad.
But now all the Hozen hit poor Kota Kon like a truck.
All is not lost however.
If you don't feel like flying back to Kota Basecamp to pilot Kota Kon every time they waste her just take the quest slower than you usually would.
If you see a large group of Hozen, Leap Smash into the middle of them,making sure you don't miss any because it will kill them all if you aim right.
Use Hozen Snack when off cooldown if there is only 1 Hozen remaining and if you see two or more face them and use Headbutt as it has a rather nice AoE and should take care of them.
Hozen Shamans should be taken care of ASAP because they hit 5-6k per Lightning Bolt but the melee range Hozen aren't a problem unless you can't Headbutt them.

This will teach me for not doing all the quests in the zone back when MoP first came out and instead jumping from zone to zone as I out leveled the area.

Unfortunately, Blizzard was too stupid or lazy to scale this quest properly with the level scaling changes. The hozen deal MUCH more damage than they should, to the point that a group of them can kill the yeti in literal seconds. Prepare for a lot of flying back to the starting location to remount.

Not sure if people still find this nerfed. Just did this twice the quest then the repeatable. I found it quite fast and the 2nd time doling it I did it probably 5 times faster. Use 1 on large groups at a distance. Use 2 if charging into groups and use 3 on the random 1 straggler if you use 1 or 2 and someone lives. Moving around always and just making sure you don't pull more then you should you can do this within 2-3 minutes tops. Just keep moving only aim for large groups.

Just consider yourself playing a very Overpowered Glass Canon!

What in the serious f*ck is blizz's problem? How the hell did no one test this before they released this again? I take the yeti to the hozen and just one is enough to do 90% damage to the yeti. Even the abomination vehicle quest in Northrend wasn't this bad.

This quest as well as the Alliance one with Sully in the Jade Forest is broken because of the level scaling and Blizzard not testing remix enough :) Adds kill the character you control in 2-3 seconds generally.

This has been broken for many years so not just a Remix issue, sadly. To make matters worse, the hozen don't seem to respawn after you "die", so you are left with a couple here and there in the closest area. What I found "helped" (if you can call it that) once the closer packs were mostly dead, was to skirt around to the side (right for me) to get to the larger groups on the far side without aggroing. Still many back and forths to complete this abomination of a quest.

What I find REALLY amazing is that there is actually a DAILY version of this quest for the real masochists out there...

I found that if I watched my health bar, snacked when needed, (3) and didn't go for too many at a time, this was achievable without dying.

remix: the key to doing this in one run, like other commenters are saying, is do NOT take on too many. wait patiently for certain cooldowns. jump into a big group of 5-6, head butt the rest that didnt die, grab the one straggler, and if all else fails, run away!

In Remix it would be faster to kill these Hozen without Kota Kon's help but, ofc Blizzard, the kills only count if she does them.
