This quest replaces the previous version of this quest which offered the best quest reward ever. Now the quest reward isn't nearly as good.

When killing for the mirefin heads, chances are you will get poisoned. The only way I found to cancel the poison effect was to attack a Mirefin. Using health potions seemed to only speed the poisoning process, but as soon as I attacked something the poison effect was immediately gone.

Strange, it seems that they all have heads, but when you kill them, it turns out that he doesn't have a head....This is paranormal...What are we seeing then? Demons with a shape of the head ?

To quote the questgiver:

"Don't crush those heads now. It makes them sad. Sad heads aren't good eating."

When you don't get a head for loot, your character effectively destroyed it. There are several ways to imagine how your particular character did it, so be creative ;)

In order to open this quest, you must complete the two quests Marsh Frog Legs and Jarl Needs Eyes. He gives them one at a time. and upon completing Jarl Needs Eyes, this one opens up.

The quest text and rewards refer to an ogre out on his own near Brackenwall Village: Mudcrush Durtfeet.

I am not sure since when but the drop rate on the heads have considerably increased.

Must have done this quest on numerous alts and always 'cursed' the drop rate. Usually you had to purge the little peninsula twice and then some to complete the quest.

But not anymore!

Only had to kill 10 Mirefin (mix of Coastrunners/Murlocs) to get all the 8 heads.

Says here that the reward option Mud Crushers have +20 agility which seemed too good to be true and it was...in-game that stat is +11 agility.

Collect 8 Mirefin Heads from Mirefin Murlocs.

Description

You meet some people out here sometime. Nice people. Met an ogre once. Ogres get hungry just like me.

I'll never forget what he said. He said "Mud big ogre. Me hungry. Go bash fishy. Bring Mud food. You feed Mud or Mud eat you."

So I got him those fish and he ate 'em up. That's when I started too. The heads are the best part, all soggy-like.

Don't crush those heads now. It makes them sad. Sad heads aren't good eating. Get me happy heads and I'll eat them and be happy too.
