Undead worgen roam the Shattershore.

There are 3 shipwrecks here, the quest objective is in the middle ship, which sits further back from the shore.

Swim through a window, and at the bow is a skull pile with Grol's head on a pike. When you take the broken amulet from the head, the spirit of Grol appears behind you. Kill him, and loot the intact amulet.

I did this quest with my Rogue-Combative-level 57. I went to the middle ship wreck, through the window with the cannon sticking out. Swam to the pile of skulls with head stuck on a spear. Clicked on it got a broke amulet, then big fatso appears. I killed him, loot the real quest amulet. But, no soon than the deed is done then fatso appears again to fight again, me at half life in XP, from the last battle with him. I did not get to stealth. I did die after working my way to the opening to reach surface, headed for shore. Timing is a joke to this quest.

I didnt read that his spirit came out and attacked you, therefore i swam back to the shore, not knowing i was in combat. I found it funny to see him following me up the beach.

If you can activate the skull pile but nothing happens, check you don't have Broken Amulet in your bag already.

I looted the skull but someone else tapped the spirit so I had to wait and try again. Attempting to loot the skull pile again to summon the spirit appeared to activate it but nothing else happened until I removed the broken amulet from my bag.

To unlock this quest you must complete Watcher Wazzik's 3 quests around the Dark Portal. The Vile Blood of Demons, The Charred Granite of the Dark Portal and Enhancing the Stone

How to "find" Loramus so you can get the The Amulet of Grol quest.....

First you must complete a series of quests that starts with Futile Pride at Dreadmaul Hold. This leads you through a longer chain starting with Into the Mountain with following quests from Bloodmage Lynnore and Bloodmage Drazial. Then Loramus will be in the cave with the Bloodmage duo. After completing several quests from Watcher Wazzik at Loramus' request, Loramus will offer the 3 amulet quests.

Quest is broken as of new patch. (At least today) Head of Grol is there but nobody can access it. "That is already being used." Can't complete the zone without this quest.

It's still bugged. Workaround: I completed the other two amulet quests and turned them in to Kasim. I then returned to the Grol amulet, and it worked for me. Hopefully this helps.

I got the error message when there were several other people clicking the object as well. I went back down there when there was noone there and was able to click it.

Still broken as of 8/19/2019. My character just says "I can't loot that right now."
I guess this quest is never getting fixed.

EDIT: I abandoned the quest, did some other quests, and came back to it, and it looted the pile of bones. So the quest works, but is still bugged.

Tried to abandon quest because I kept getting the "I cant loot that right now" bug but it wasn't working.

I stood on top the skull pile for a while spam clicking the thing and reading posts on here and all of a sudden the guy just spawned and I was able to kill it and get the item for the quest

Patch 8.3.0.3374 (Mar 21 2020): still buggy but ultimately works. I'm an Alliance player on Stormrage. I only got the amulet quests from Kasim before this. First I got the one in the cave, turned it in, and I hit this one next: I and another player were having the same problem: "I can't loot that right now." Over and over again. I probably clicked the bone pile a dozen times or so without success before leaving the first time.

I did the Murloc quests to the south (including third amulet), turned in the third, and then checked Grol's amulet again. No luck. I left for Stormwind and came back, turned in some gems to that collector, and returned. This is about an hour after I first found the issue. I clicked it a few more times and it finally worked.

Just keep trying it over time. You should get it eventually.

So I went for this quest today trying to do Loremaster and it was broken again. I tried everything, abandoning didnt work, doing the murloc quests didnt work. In the end, the only thing that worked (for me) was finishing all the other quests in the zone, only then was I able to loot the pile and spawn the NPC I needed to kill. Hope this helps!

Still bugged as of 6/3/2020, but I found what worked for me.

According to the WoW forum topic on this issue (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/the-amulet-of-grol/218127), a couple of people found that switching your warmode phase worked (if you have it on, turn it off and vise versa). And after trying everything else, it worked for me too. It was extremely annoying as it involved a lot of travelling, but it did work and it's work a shot if you're having trouble with this quest.

It's also worth noting that after switching your warmode phase you will have to talk to Zidormi again to change to the older version of Blasted Lands.

Had the same problem as everyone else on this quest - "This item is already being used".
When i started writing the report ticket regarding this issue, an NPC spawned Spirit of Grol. Yelling "You will never take amulet. Grol lives forever! Groll will kill you".
Upon killing this NPC, i was able to loot it.

So apparently you have to wait for this NPC to spawn?

Obtain Grol's Amulet from the Shattershore in the Blasted Lands.

Description

Grol... the ogre who tore me apart.

<Loramus laughs.>

It would seem that Grol's body has changed hands several times since we died together, but it no longer rests with the ogres. His body, along with his amulet of power, is in a wrecked ship off the Shattershore, to the east. His amulet is the last... once combined, the three will give us access to Razelikh, and therein lies our chance to stop his madness.
