There is no event or anything after you complete the quest. The only thing that changed is that you seem to be immune to the curse of the Violet Tower in that place.

Don't know if anyone noticed the text where the archmage says "some scryed to remember, some scryed to forget" which is obviously an ironic refrence to Hotel California, considering the archmage can't leave the tower he is in.

I think no rewards and follow ups means that this chain will be continued in future , and mb...this will be chain for Black Temple key(or any other future instances).

Actually...it was affected/cut down by 50% but in a way you wouldn't expect.After you complete the quest and you aren't cursed, you do double your normal damage while in the tower. For example my normal fire ball (unbuffed) just hit for 4k. It normally hits around 2k.

So not having the curse in the tower allows you to double your normal damage. ^^ Having it just causes you to do your normal.

Sadly this quest line is unfinished for now. But I do think it would be very interesting when it is complete. This chain had us picking up items that had belonged to Krasus. And of course Krasus is the alias for the red dragon Korialstrasz who is a major character in several of the Warcraft novels.

If somehow this chain were to lead us to meeting Krasus I would be very excited.

As a duelwielder (enhancement shaman) the curse affects me, but only my offhand damage. Mainhand remains untouched.

The 50% damage reduction in this tower is a joke. Your damage is in fact reduced by 50%, but the big guardian's overall weakness is doubled. Once I turned this quest in I went down and killed him, but noticed something peculiar...my Unstable Affliction was ticking for 1100 damage. I checked my combat log from *before* i turned the quest in, and it had been ticking away for 450.

Talk about lame. All that work for 24 g at 70? Thanks blizzard. At least I ran botanica on a daily quest day so it wasnt a complete waste of time. You would think they would at least give you bonus rep with some factions or something.

When you are done with the quest at this point its over so you can destroy Archmage Vargoth's Staff if you dont think its fun anymore and is just filling up your bags.

I solo'd this as a level 80 fury warrior, Died once when he was at 18% then I put on my tank gear(t7.5) and kept my 2handers on while staying in zerker stance, I killed her with 11k health left, 13 gold 20 silver reward

This guy's fate is full of irony. He's trapped at the top of the Violet Tower, in a relatively out of the way location, waiting for someone to come by and help. After you go through a ridiculously long quest chain to free him, how does he celebrate? By sitting at the top of the Violet Citadel, in a relatively out of the way location, waiting for someone to come by and talk so he can hand out a pet pretty much identical to the elementals that surrounded his old location.

All elite. Guards L69, L70, All Peacekeepers L70.
Enter & face 2 Bloodwarder Protectors (BPs) and 1 Tempest-Forge Peacekeeper (TFP), pacing to and fro.
Wait for TFP to go away before attacking.
Next doorway 2 BP guards.
Thru doorway, another 2 BP guards and 1 TFP. If you try to pull TFP first, all 3 will attack.
Next , 3 guards, 1-TFP. Pull the guards, wait for TFP to go away. He comes around to your right. Go left. Face 3 guards. Go back & wait for TFP (takes 1 minute to make his round) to go away. Pull guards, back up, kill. (L70 guard froze me. My Elemental saved me.) Wait, when TFP comes closest, attack. Next: Face 3 guards, Blood Falcons (L69) to your left & L70 TFP in back. Pull back into tunnel, pull guards, kill. Blood Falcons have L70 guard. Pull, backup, kill. Wait at bridge for TFP guy. Two-L69 guards next, if you wait. All 3 if you don't. Pull, back up to avoid pulling the next 3 guards. Finally, see Commander Sarannis (L72), pacing to & fro, on bridge. Face 4 Blood Falcons & a guard. Pull, kill. Next, face her 9 guards. Takes her 18 seconds to do walkabout. Don't let pets detain guards at her bridge. Pull nearest guard from afar. Three will attack. Back up. Her pace may change, she rallies the troups. When she turns around & walks to bridge, Hunter or Mage fire at end guard and back away (5 secs max). Do this twice. Three will attack. then she does bridge pacing. Wait , then go for final 3. Pull, back away. Kill. Prepare for her. Attack, she fights, then pauses, smirks and calls 3 hard-hitting Menders for help. Major drops first time thru: Towering Mantle of the Hunt. Second time thru: Revenger Sword (lifestealing). Other items: Warmaul Gloves of the Whale (Plate) L66. Netherweave cloth, Sunfury Signets and incr. rep with The Sha'tar. Arcane Tomes. Bottled Nethergon Vapor (Health) & Bottled Nether. Energy (Mana). Netherbloom. Bread. :)

Even by the time of Mists, this guy still doesn't have the guts to go outside.

I wish there was a "/punch in the face" emote. I went through two Tempest Keep dungeons for that? Traipsed all over the place? A bit of casual XP? Not even an entertaining chat?

Just to mention that Archmage Vargoth can be seen in Dalaran and in MoP Thunder Isle (alliance ship).

So he DOES exit his tower and return to the Kirin Tor, and he joins the fight! :)

For Horde Loremaster:

All soloed on my alt 110 ilvl 934 Guardian Druid. If you’re deciding to do loremaster later in the game like me and you’re starting the zone fresh, I highly suggest doing it on a druid because you can kill and instant fly off, makes things go by so much faster.

All I did was follow around the large bold exclamation point on the map. Sometimes the quests are mixed and it makes you run around back and forth, but so be it. This is still minimum list of quests to do, everything else is a side quest.

You need to kill Commander Sarannis for the The Keystone. You can find her in The Botanica 5 man Dungeon. Its the most left of the flying "ships"

Venture into Tempest Keep's Botanica and retrieve the Keystone from Commander Sarannis. Bring it to Archmage Vargoth at the Violet Tower.

Description

It doesn't surprise me that Kael'thas has put the key to this ward in the hands of someone like Commander Sarannis. Prince Kael'thas is a great many things, but he is no simpleton.

In order to break this curse once and for all, you must enter Tempest Keep and claim the keystone.

Only once the keystone has been destroyed will I regain my freedom.
