Find the bomb in your inventory and put it on your hotbar. Click it and use like any aoe spell once you are over the Abyssal shelf. You can do as many runs as needed untill the timer runs out.

This is a really fun quest. I was a bit confused at first since the gryphoneer wouldn't let me fly to Abyssal Shelf, but then I realized that I was talking to the wrong NPC. The right one is the gryphoneer behind the one you talk to when you first arrive.

When you have the quest from Wing Commander Gryphongar, go to Gryphoneer Windbelly. She's standing next to the flying path (Runetog Wildhammer).
Talk to her and go to Abyssal Shelf.
Then you just using the bomb from your bag (a hot tips is to have the bomb in the action bar).

It's flying around there for a while, then going back to Shatter Point.
I finished on the the first flying tour, very funny and easy quest! :)

The quest ends at Wing Commander Gryphongar in Shatter Point. Good luck!

This as a very fun quest once i learned to fly with a trackball mouse was very easy and fun did this at lv. 61 in about 10 min. still had time just to go again for fun

A good hint is to hurry and deliver. Do NOT (as I did) go for coffee when the return flight began, just to returning to find my bomb has expired... Hand-in impossible.

This is a part of a 12 quest chain which you can start by talking to Force Commander Danath Trollbane in Honor Hold. Here is the whole chain.

You fly from the armored gryphon npc at or more precisely
You will want to choose to fly to the abysal shelf. flying to honor hold just takes you back home.
Only thing to note is that the bombs will disappear from your bag after a while if you don't do the quest right away.
If that happens, just abandon the quest and get it again.
This leads to 'return to the abyssal shelf, which is the same quest but doesn't give any experience or reward...so whats the point? idk it might give you rep or something.

For those having the same problems I was, point your camera straight down, maybe even zoom so you don't have the gryphon blocking your view, and thats how you bomb. Ignore the fact that you have the target available to the sides when you're looking over your shoulder, you'll just get lots of "out of range" messages.

On a side note, the bombs don't always kill the target. So take that into account. You don't want to fly again to kill 1 more overseer.

The bombs only seem to damage to quest mobs, I could not damage the wandering fel reavers in the area.

This is one of the most fun quests in the game, I have to say.

I was able to damage the Fel Reavers, but a bomb only did like 1k damage to it, and since it has over 250k hp, you can't really kill it ):

Fun quest, except when your targets move out of your range and you have to do another run to finish off a overseer or a few peons.

quest helper works nice for this quest, since it gives you a few lines under your minimap and if a quest requires a special item the little box for the item is there so you dont have to put it on your hotbar.

If someone else in your group is flying with you, you will only get credit for what your bomb kills. You won't get credit from theirs.

Put the bomb in the action bar and SPAM it (keep clicking on it and on the ground like mad). That way you will be able to throw 3-4 bombs PER COOLDOWN.

Should your bomb expire (for example, you log out after one flight and you don't have all of your kills), don't fly your toon up there and try to score the last couple of kills on your own. Peons are level 69 (and tend to come in packs), and overseers are 'skull' to a level 60. If you have a handy 85 around to help, that would be different, no doubt.

Yes you can do it in one flight, it is a bit tricky though. Throw the bomb when you see big groups together, especially when they are near the Fel cannons. Sometimes the overseer's can walk near the cannons to. It is quicker to slide the hotkey for the bomb in your action bars for quicker selection. There is no achievement though for getting everything in one run.

I got a problem I started the quest, logged off, and then came back to finish next day. my bomb has disappeared and I cannot get another one from the commander!

If your bombs expire and disappear from your inventory (they have an hour duration) just abandon the quest and get it again. He will give you more bombs to finish it.

the bombs can be used to kill the opposing members of your faction. same goes with the Western plaguelands : The endless flow. I found this out accidentally when i got honor points bombing the area and found out that i killed someone =P. Also, your own gryphon can be ridden while bombing the area if you find the one provided too erratic.

So... funny thing. You only get about 20 seconds to kill everything... appears the Horde flight path crosses itself and this now causes the wyvern to be confused, sending you straight back to the NPCs.

Looks like the quest is a bit glitchy. From what I noticed if you throw a bomb right when you get to the shelf it will glitch the wyvern's flight and send you back. I noticed that if you wait 10 or so seconds after reaching the shelf you should be able to bomb without worry.

The bombs only last an hour and if you exceed that then you have to abandon and reacquire the quest...
I don't think you can kill them all in one run.

The quest is bugged, when you click on "Send me to the Abbysal Shelf" it sends you 20 yards forward, and then the wind rider turns around and sends you back to the NPCs

The best method for completing this the first run is as follows...

1) Put the bomb on your hotbar, I put mine in the #1 position.
2) Zoom all the way in so you're in first person view.
3) Concentrate on bombing the peons and overseers first, you will get the cannons along with them as you do. The canons are easy so don't waste a shot on JUST a cannon unless there's nothing else in range or that is all you have left.

I usually get this done before I turn around and start heading back when done this way. I could actually do this quest twice in one run with this method. I used to make the mistake of bombing the canons first, they were easy, but that is the very reason to save them until last (or bomb them along with peons/overseers).

1. Mission: The Abyssal Shelf
• Accept Mission: The Abyssal Shelf from Wing Commander Gryphongar, at coords 79.2, 33.8 (Inside Tower at Shatter Point).
• You will receive a set of Area 52 Special bombs in your inventory. I recommend temporarily placing this on your numbered Action Bar to speed up response time.
• Speak with Gryphoneer Windbellow at coords 78.2, 34.4 and select, "Send me to the Abyssal Shelf!"
• After you reach Abyssal Shelf, use your Area 52 Special on 20 Gan'arg Peon, 5 Mo'arg Overseer, and 5 Fel Cannon. Try to target groups of these mobs, as your Area 52 Special has a cool down.
• After a certain amount of time, or after you killed all of your targets, the gryphon will fly you back to Shatter Point. Turn in the quest to Wing Commander Gryphongar (coords: 79.2, 33.8).
• If you haven't bombed all of your targets, you can speak with Gryphoneer Windbellow again to continue your bombing run.

A bit buggy. Quite often got a message "Spell not learnt" or "Out of range" when being close to the target. :(

If you keep getting the message: "Spell not learned"

Right click to release the bomb and then pick it up again. You may have to do this each time you try to drop the bomb.

To this day, I don't think I've ever completed it on one pass! I always end up about 1-2 mobs shy! Am I the only one who wishes the bomb's CD was, oh, 1 second shorter? XD

This time we've isolated the Legion's main production area, behind the forge camps to the north. I need you to get on a gryphon and destroy the whole damned thing!
