Menagerie Custodian is taught from Instant Arcane Sanctum Security Kit and is looted from The Curator, which is the Arcane Guardian boss from the level 70 Burning Crusade raid Karazhan.

Menagerie Custodian together with other new pets added in patch 5.3 meets the requirement to complete Raiding with Leashes II: Attunement Edition which rewards Tito's Basket that teaches Tito.

The custodian comes equipped for gallery protection -- all of its moves (other than the ones on button 1) Do at least 30 base damage. Recall that average attacks like Zap have a base damage of 20, so these are really quite good. The downside, of course, is that they're all better burst damage, not necessarily better sustained dps: Shock and Awe is just great, doing 30 base damage instantly with a chance to stun. Lock on does 45 damage, but takes 2 turns to do it, making it only a modest upgrade over spamming Zap. Demolish does 40, but with its 50% hit rate, it averages out to be the same as Zap. Finally, Ion Cannon hits for a whopping 50 base damage right away... but then takes two rounds to recharge, so it actually does LESS sustained dpr than Zap

I prefer to run mine with Zap (Instead of Overtune) and Shock and Awe (instead of Demolish), but its final move can go either way: Lock On is better damage in the long haul, but Ion Cannon is the perfect move to unexpectedly finish a battle, or to use when you know you've only got one action left before you die. Really, it depends on what the rest of your team looks like and thus what you intend to use the Custodian for.

+ - useful for pet battle.Tactical abilites:
1)Lock-On/Launch Rocket 2nd use is not supposed to be on next turn after doing Locked On/Setup Rocket. You may delay the hit for using best advantage of enemy's vulnerability.
2)If you are faster: Extra Plating protects you from current round's main attack aswell.

Just started leveling up my own Menagerie Custodian and wow he is an amazing battle pet. If you are looking for a strong mechanical pet, this one is definitely worth upgrading to level 25.

I use Shock and Awe and Lock-On, those two skills hit for a lot of damage. (and the nice thing about lock on is that it always marks the enemy no matter what they cast) Ion cannon is awesome as well, especially if you use a pet with howl right before it...uber damage!

So yea awesome pet to have. :)

RNG is a pain in the a$$ , I have run Karazhan every week on each of my 8 Lv 90 toons for two months now and i haven't yet had this drop. This pet seems to be far rarer than a blue Minfernal ( of which i have two ) . Oh well , here i go again - another eight runs through Karazhan . . . .

This is a specific request for Blizzard, when Warlords of Draenor comes live, please remove the pet cap or raise it to 10 for this pet.

I want to have 10 of these in the Tier 3 pet Menagerie, just roaming around and saying ''The Menagerie is for guests only'' in echo.

Ha! I have mine and he patrols my garrison's roads. I have a level 2 Pet Menagerie, not sure if that explains it or not.
