Completing the Code is a new collectible hunting achievement, added in 9.2 patch.

You need some progress in Zereth Mortis campaign to find Firim and help him with his quests.
Later, after completing Overgrown Story Firim's side quest, you can ask him for Unstable Containment Trap gadget.

To progress you need to locate achievement related mobs, throw trap at them and then examine.
Firim may offer examination daily quests sometimes so you can progress naturally.
Mobs aren't friendly and can be killed by random persons so you may need to wait for respawn (10-30 min).
Reward for earning achievement is Personal Containment Trap

This guide was made using test server gameplay so let me know if you found a mistake or something was changed.

Progress in the zone storyline up to the point when you unlock Firim and Pocopoc.
Get Unstable Containment Trap from Firim by talking with him

Find 18 rare mobs (most of them have single spawn) and use Unstable Containment Trap on them
Reward is Personal Containment Trap

If you're doing this achievement think about your fellow completionist and just walk away from the mob after retrieving research data so it resets and stays up instead of killing it and having others wait for a respawn.

When you complete the achievement, the toy is automatically unlocked in your toybox, you DO NOT get an item to learn in your bags or mail.

When NPC is not up you can also use the premade group finder tool to server hop. Search for the world boss Antros.

do those specials show for you after you have captured them? the first one i did before i knew it was an achievement was runethief. for some reason, i didn't get credit for it and have checked many times w/o seeing it since then.

I'm just gonna put this out there:

STOP KILLING THE MOBS AFTER YOU RESEARCH THEM.

How childish and selfish do you have to be to do that? Even if you're in combat, just RUN AWAY. Save everyone else the hassle and leave them up for the next person.

Hi all

I present Completing the Code Achievement. To reach it you must use Unstable Containment Trap on 18 mobs.

Unstable Containment Trap You can get from Firim is in cave 35,2 45,6. Main reward from finish Achievement is Personal Containment Trap.

Try to not kill mobs to leave it for other players - some of mobs have a very long respawn :(.

To even get started on this achievement, you need to be able to get Unstable Containment Trap.

However, you can only get this item by talking to Firim after having done the daily quest Overgrown Story the first time, so just be patient - one day the quest will be available for you too.

seems when i use the Unstable Containment Trap the mobs just run over it without getting trapped. Anyone have any idea what i might be doing wrong?

this should award 10 points at least as an achievement - it took a lot of time for me to track and find all the rare NPCs needed for the achievement

I always love these resources for help with Achievements like this one, however I'm curious why so many people tend to list the items in the 'numerical' order which they appear in the list of the Achievement rather than in a 'shortest route' order? Is this tendency for easy in some sort of addon data cross-over or just an oversight?
