Just observed a 50 minute gap inbetween spawns. The corpse seems to take longer to despawn.

First kill gave a stone and tome of valor. Second gave just a tome of valor.

We have taken the effort to down this right after 5.2 launched.

I can say that I was impressed by the loot offered at first

I had the Mini pet, 1 key stone and 1 tome of valor and also the epic key to Lei Shen's palace.

However, after I took the key stone and the pet, the loot table closed for me.

My guess is that you are only able to take 2 items per kill.

The new 5.3 rares seem to spawn anywhere between 40 and 56 minutes; I spend most of tonight running between spawn locations and getting pretty decent estimates. Will start camping specific ones tomorrow to get a valid timetable.

Keep in mind that loot "lags"; sometimes, I don't get loot at all, but when I pass the corpse again I can suddenly loot a Valor Tome. This is probably also the reason some of the corpses take so long to despawn; forgotten loot.

He does an aoe every once in a while that damages everyone that's currently engaging him. I would suggest that you pop whatever CDs you have to mitigate this incomming damage because it might be fatal if you're engaging him for an extended period of time.

Once of the harder ones to fight but still solable, he can be slowed so can be kited, biggest dmg spell is Haywire it seems the closer you are to him the more the dmg from haywire though its only around 2/3k more/less.

Watch for surrounding mobs these will root you for 3.8 secs

Drop Chance:

Note 1: If you are in a group and a caster you can actually avoid haywire at max distance even though it says 40 yard range!
Note 2: Depending on how many are killing the rare(s) will change the HP soloing it he has 10M hp going up to 40M if being killed by 4 or more players

I've seen him spawn a number of times now at 50, 91. He spawns in a running state, moving east.

no mater who tagged the rare it will give loot to everyone so DO NOT leave.

if you cant loot it there are 2 ways to get the loot:

log out and back in
go away from the rare until it phases out and then return

if it says "there is no loot' repeat the second way but stay away for a few minutes. dont worry the coprse wont despawn until everyone who killed it gets their loot from it

Confirmed. I was able to loot a pet even when not in a group. hd to wait a few for players to make there grab then after it calmed down I looted my own.

Has a Very Nasty Rage that sparks in mass. Keep away or it drains you pretty quickly. I unfortunately was't paying attention but still was able to loot it. It dropped a pet and a tome.

I think there is a week limitation for stones and keys.

Got both in my first loot on the first day. I've killed all available rares (took me two days) and after my first kill i was only reawarded with a Tome of Valor. (Loot was bugged most of the time, killing a mob nearby worked fine for me)

Is it the same with the summonable elites? Maybe you can loot only one kind of champion per week

You can loot even if the opposite member of faction tags it first, I am not sure on the drop rate but I managed to get one on the second kill. Just be careful when killing him of the nearby mobs (You are taken out of the Saurok disguise) and Haywire himself can do considerable damage with hit Haywire attack. Goodluck pet hunters :)

TL;DR - I was able to loot this rare for a second time today and I got (sadly) another Tome of Valor, but regardless, if you weren't 'able' to loot him more than once per day, I wouldn't have gotten that.
I've also noticed other people repeatedly killing this rare, so even if you don't take my word for it, I'm fairly certain people wouldn't be camping his spawn for hours to kill him over and over if he dropped nothing after one kill. I'll edit if I get the pet :)

*Edit* The stones have been confirmed to only drop off rare mobs once a week. But apparently you can get all three from that nifty single-person scenario, if you're lucky!

As for the looting bug, it's just that: A bug. Killing a mob nearby will trigger AoE loot and let you loot your rare, and if that doesn't work, it will in a few moments or after you kill another mob (in my experience).
In ADDITION to what other users have suggested, with relogging and all that. This is just what I specifically do, myself :p

I have just confirmed that the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry drops for ALL players who had tag on the rare, not just one. After several kills where no one looted it, every person with the tag got it on one single kill.

I have discovered that this rare is on a 45 to 60 minute re-spawn timer. The next spawn is based off the time the last spawn occurred. This also applies to all other rares on the island.

Just to clarify, you can loot him multiple times a week, and it is possible to get the pet on your second or third kill (happened to me). The only thing you can get just once each week is the key.

If you can't loot the corpse, make sure it was tagged to your faction and that you actually damaged it. Then log out and back in. It seems to be a pretty common glitch.

Very easy solo for hunters. Clear out trash surrounding the construct, then position construct and pet 40 yards away, preferably near one of the cliffs of the mountains that line the beach. Shoot/heal, and when the construct hits Haywire, heal your pet and move out of range (Haywire's range is 40 yards). Then move back in and expend focus. Rinse and repeat until dead. Congratulations on your new pet. (Hopefully!)

Be careful: 10 million hit points, which takes a long time and causes a lot of seadragons to respawn. They are dangerous, because they root you, and then cast a DoT on you for a lot of damage. Freeze them if they pop, and continue freezing until battle with construct is over. Don't attack them and remove threat on the construct, because he will follow your pet and Haywire you into oblivion.

Soloed this on retri paladin with iLevel 447 gear. I used these talents: Fist of Justice, Selfless Healer and Divine Purpose.

Just back him into the cliffs away from the patrolling Skumblade (at about 47,86). You won't need to move from this position. He casts Haywire approx. once a minute. The first time he casts Haywire, stun him to delay it. Make sure you have some holy power and selfless healer stacked. When he casts Haywire again cast Divine Protection just after he finished the cast. Now you'll want to heal through his damage using Word of Glory and Flash of Light interspersed with damaging attacks when your health is good (Judgement is particularly good as it grants you both a charge of Holy Power for WoG and Selfless Healer for FoL). It's very easy to keep yourself topped up during Divine Protection, you need to be more careful when DP ends as the damage is obviously much higher. Try and cast FoL with at least 1 stack of Selfless Healer to keep the mana cost and cast time manageable.

Then just rinse and repeat. Divine Protection CD will always be back up for the next haywire if you use Fist of Justice to stun it the first time. Can also use Devotion Aura every other time for a bit more damage reduction. Takes a while to kill him but it is a good strategy as I never needed to use LoH or bubble.

Solo'd this as a 518 Fury warrior. Ended up killing him with about 12k hps, mainly from my talent Second Wind and from Victory Rush. I recommend glyphing for victory rush so it heals 50% more although it is doable without. I killed 9 other mobs around the area for the victory rush potential, each of them healing me for about 100k. The trick for warriors is to only use Victory Rush when you are low on HP, around 15%, so you don't waste any potential heals from Second Wind.

ive killed this rare 3 times already and no companion :/ at least its a low respawn rate as far as i know...

finally dropped 4th time, respawn is low 45min to a hour, best way to kill him is bring him into the sea, wont pull any of the mobs

easy but long long and boring solo with my ilvl 481 blood death knight. no need to worry about patrolling adds joining the fight, and typical blood DK rotation never had me worried about dying throughout the entire encounter

I wasn't able to solo this on my fire mage as I couldn't get out of 40 years and reliably keep it away from me (maybe if I was frost), but I had a DK friend help and he clearly was able to solo it I just helped speed up the process.

Solo Guide for Rogues

Back up onto the cliffs around and pull with Throw. Once the construct is in melee range, pop Evasion, blow your offensive CDs and begin your rotation. Get a 5-CP Recuperate rolling in preparation for Haywire. Once Haywire has been cast, keep Feint up until Haywire falls off (as afterlife pointed out, it works on the damage from Haywire). To aid survivability, Shiv on cooldown. It is also possible to interrupt and delay the cast of Haywire with Gouge and Kidney Shot. By the time that the first Haywire is over, you shouldn't be too far below 50% health. Hit Preparation and hit Evasion again. Keep Recuperate up and continue using Shiv, and you should be at or nearly at full health by the time the next Haywire comes. Rinse and repeat.
Cloak of Shadows could be used to immune some of the first Haywire, and possibly the third (?) depending on how timing works, but you can survive just fine with Feint+Recuperate+Shiv.

It's a long fight (as a 500/505 ilvl assassination rogue, I had time to pop Vendetta twice), but using this strategy and with good knowledge of your rogue's toolbox, it's very doable without any extra help (i.e. consumables, etc.).

Solo Guide For Enhancement Shaman:

Just soloed as iLevel 475 with the following talents/glyphs:
Stone Bulwark
Earthgrab
Call of the Elements (unused)
Ancestral Swiftness
Ancestral Guidance
Elemental Blast
Glyph of Healing Storm
Glyph of Spirit Walk
Glyph of Feral Spirit

To skip to the important bits, there's two ways you can deal with Haywire.

A) Heal/tank through it with Feral Spirit/Healing Stream Totem/Ancestral Guidance/Stone Bulwark Totem/Shamanistic Rage/MW5 Healing Surges. Don't stack FS/AG--alternate between them. Stack HST/SBT/SR all you want though, they're on a short enough cooldown.

B) Kite with Frost Shock/Spirit Walk/Earthgrab Totem. Getting 40+ yards away from him will eliminate the damage completely.

Notes:

My attempt took a little under five minutes, but the roaming mob around him I killed respawned midfight, making it a little tricker. I had to blow Nitro Boosts to kite one Haywire (but that was my fault for misusing Spirit Walk).
If you need Heroism (I probably didn't, but I used it anyways), save it to stack with Wolves for more heals.
In case you get netted by a jerk mob, remember that Spirit Walk clears snares and roots.
If you drop low, don't forget about Ancestral Swiftness--as far as I could tell, it benefited from Glyph of Healing Storm as I had MW stacks at the time, but I can't say for sure. Regardless, an instant heal will help!
Talent-wise, I found I basically just had to have Stone Bulwark, Earthgrab, and Ancestral Swiftness or it was undoable. Anything in other tiers will probably work.
Frozen Power + Earthbind Totem will likely work in place of Earthgrab; Healing Tide Totem might work instead of AG, but I advise against it since it's only (kinda) flat healing and doesn't directly scale with how hard you hit.
Don't forget to try and interrupt Haywire with Capacitor Totem. It doesn't make a world of difference, but it can buy you a few extra seconds for DPS and CDs.
If you do pull a mob by accident, focus it and keep it hexed to make your life easier.

I solo'd him today as a Disc Priest, and he wasn't as difficult as I had feared he would be. I had some trouble at first with the other mobs nearby throwing nets at me, but I was able to kill them and moved the Construct towards the wall of rocks. I stood there the entire time and when the mobs respawned, they ran right past us and weren't aggro'd.

I just kept Power Word: Shield up, with Renew and Prayer of Mending as necessary. I also made good use of Archangel when he managed to whittle my health down to about halfway or so and used my Mindbender at every opportunity. I never moved to try and avoid his Haywire attack, just kept myself healed and threw everything I had at him. He didn't seem to hit very hard as long as my shield was up.

Tried to solo with my 504 Frost Dk and only got him to 5.6M. Also switched to blood presence to have more health. Hard fight if you can't get away from haywire. Any help killing him on a MDPS?

Shadow Priest, easy peasy.

Just do normal rotation, his attacks dont hurt that much.

When you see him casting Haywire just pop Void Tendrils and then your shield to get away quick and you can just turn around and attack him whilst being out of range of the haywire ability.

Just rinse and repeat til dead.

Found this guy wandering about and decided to have at him. My "questing" spec at 90 is Arms, and it didn't serve me as well as I hoped. I changed up my talents several times, no to avail. I switched to Protection, which landed the kill on the first try. Specifically, all you have to do is try and have a full rage bar when he uses Haywire. Use Shield Barrier, then Shield Slam to get some rage back. When Shield Barrier drops, pop it again, then use Revenge. By doing so, his Haywire was mostly absorbed. I ended the fight around half health (490k~ was my total), having not used Shield Wall, Enraged Regeneration, or a Health Potion.

Just solo'd as 90 Ret Pally, iL 511; Eternal Flame, Execution Sentence, Divine Purpose are good friends.

I was a little worried about his Haywire after reading comments here, because it seemed like it was going to do a lot of damage, but popping the occasional Eternal Flame and casting Execution Sentence on myself made the damage pretty negligible. His normal attacks don't hit for much more, so I could have gotten off Flash of Light if I'd needed it.

From where he pauses in his flailing on the west side of the beach, I pulled him up against the wall and didn't have to worry about adds, and just wailed on him until he fell over. Easy stuff. :3

I would say the drop rates on wowhead are skewed because it takes account for the other 9 classes that can't loot it when wowhead data is uploaded.

If it were warlocks only I would say the drop rate would be closer to the 4-5%.(due to weight of warlocks farming for tomes)

Killed him 4 times this morning, dropped Valor Points each time.

My shaman now has 180 Valor Points and no pet. Little advice for melee shamans: you can pop your earth ele and run out of range of the first Haywire, then just blow your CDs on the second. Always finish on full hp.

I've killed this guy twice so far as a hunter w/ pet on tenacity - no battle pet drop yet, although I did get a key for Troves of the Thunder King!

He stays in one place during the fight & is fairly easy as long as you avoid his Haywire & don't aggro random mobs in the area - and I have crap gear.

I like to fight him along the wall on the right as you're facing the water. There is one lizard guy at the water's edge that always respawns during the fight even if I kill him before. Just keep him Freezing Trapped throughout the fight & deal w/ him afterward.

1) Get down by the water along the right wall (as you're facing the water.) You can kill the lizard guy, but expect him to respawn.
2) Wait until the construct is getting near the wall & send pet in. Keep heals up on pet & start blasting the construct from furthest range possible.
3) As soon as he starts to cast Haywire, Disengage & wait a few seconds before getting back in range. I like to use this time to refresh Freezing Trap on the lizard guy.
4) When back in range, start healing pet & blasting away at construct again.
5) Rinse & repeat. It takes me a while to kill him, but it's simple if you follow this strategy.

I can solo him as a 90 druid with 497 feral gear, but I had to use bear form for the extra armor and HP. It's a long slog, but not difficult at all, you will rarely drop below 50% health and really don't need to use many special abilities, or potions. Just stun as often as possible with Bash when he starts casting Haywire. He'll still be able to cast it now and then, but you can easily repair the damage with multiple applications of Frenzied Regeneration. You should have plenty of rage at all times in the fight. Back him up on the rocks to avoid adds. There is one add that still pulled from there (the roaming one with the lizard pet), but just use Swipe and Thrash for a while (while still targeting the construct) and they will be gone easily, they won't do you any significant damage at level 90.

This is kind of a random thing to notice, but while i've been camping it to try and get the pet, i notice that before it spawns, the "Distressed Sunreaver Construct" that is usually half-buried in the ground near its spawn point breaks free and starts running down the beach. It's usually a few minutes before, but no more than five. I haven't actually timed it, though! Might update with more research since I'll be camping a while for the pet...

EDIT: as it turns out, the Distressed Sunreaver Construct just occasionally breaks free and starts running down the beach, independent of the Haywire spawn time.

I've been farming this guy on my warlock for almost a week and a half now. He takes ~50 minutes to respawn, so I set a timer for that length to log on and kill him (it works pretty well and he's usually there). I've done this about 5 or 6 times each night. I've killed him easily well over 40 times- and neither the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry nor the Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion have dropped for me yet.

It's a LITTLE bit frustrating.

Just a warning - today he dropped 1 Lesser Charm & 3 Elder Charms + nothing else. Nada. A close battle (1 potion) with my Feral but if I had lost, the repair bills seem to be escalating these days, so chance of big bill vs. chance of little treasure. Probably something they'll fix on 11/13.

Is there some unknown rule that you can only get real loot from him once a week or something? Cause I've killed him 6 times now and the only time I've gotten something other than Lesser Charms of Good Fortune is the first time I killed him.

Currently trying to get the pet, so far he re-spawns about every 45 mins or so.
First kill dropped a Ritual stone
Second just gold
Third 1 lesser charm and 7 elder charms

Will amend as needed if it helps others farming the pet

The re-spawn is around 45 minutes, add or take a few.

The swan timer for this is still about 40min and you get loot every time if your killing it more than once a day. I killed it about 3 times in a row (on one toon) before i got the pet.

Note: After this kill, I came back 40 minutes later. Then after waiting 35 minutes it did not spawn. I think it may have spawned before I returned.

This stupid ass pet costs 1500 gold so I'm not even going to bother with it anymore.

As mention in previous posts, you can loot more than one Shan'ze Ritual Stone a week by looting bosses with auto loot off and forcing the drops to be sent to your mailbox. This can be done an unlimited amount of times as long as you never physically loot a Shan'ze Ritual Stone from a rare or chest. Summonable bosses can also be looted mutiple times a week for those interested in farming the epic weapon drops for transmog.
