Telash Greywing is introduced in a Dracthyr-only questline which begins with Shades of Blue in The Azure Span.

The player character, Scalecommander Emberthal, and Telash Greywing are made aware of blue dragons residing in the Azure Span, and are wary given their long imprisonment in The Forbidden Reach at the hands of the Blue Dragonflight.

As the player character is introduced to Archmage Khadgar as part of the regular Dragonflight campaign, their companions sneak off to the Azure Archives, looking for information on whether the Blue Dragonflight of the modern day is still their enemy or may be their allies.

Some time later, Emberthal and Telash are noticed by the arcane simulacrum of Sindragosa while they are scouring the archive, who asks the player character to help introduce her to their companions and to aid the dragonkin in finding the knowledge they seek.

In the archive, four journals are read by the player character and their companions, memories of Malygos nearly twenty thousand years ago as he undertook research on stasis magic for an unknown reason before coming under pressure from Neltharion to use the magic to imprison the Dracthyr.

Memory of Malygos: My research into stasis magic continues apace. Neltharion's enquiries are relentless, though he will not say why.
Memory of Malygos: My brother is upset. Something about a calamity befalling his work? He grows ever more distant.
Memory of Malygos: Neltharion is beside himself. He says it's all falling apart. That it's too soon. That they need to be held. To be contained...
Memory of Malygos: It is done. His creations are in stasis. I have done my best to ensure they remain undisturbed.

Telash is beside himself upon hearing this. He does not believe that Neltharion was the one that comissioned their stasis, insisting that it was the wish of the blue dragonflight to lock the Dracthyr away, before running off determined to find what he believes is the truth. Emberthal, though concerned, believes that it is for the best to leave Telash as is.

Telash Greywing: I do not believe any of this. Lies... all lies! You wanted us locked away in cages.
Sindragosa: Young one, I assure you I had no idea. Nor did the rest of my flight.
Telash Greywing : Liar! You aren't even real. Merely a spell... yet another falsehood!
Telash Greywing: I'll find what you are hiding, illusion. And when I do, the world will know the truth!

<Telash Greywing runs out of the archive at this moment.>

Sindragosa: My beloved Malygos, why did you inflict such pain on so many?
Sindragosa: Forgive me, I was distracted. You wish to continue your research--allow me to unlock the rest of these tomes for you.

<If the player speaks to Scalecommander Emberthal afterwards.>

Scalecommander Emberthal: I worry about Telash, but he will find his own way.

Much as well must all find our own way.

I am going to stay here and talk with Sindragosa. There is so much more I wish to know. About Malygos. About ourselves...

Telash Greywing is not seen again until the events of The Azure Vault, where it is revealed he has joined the Sundered Flame and broken into the Vault.

He is still desperately searching for proof that the Blue Dragonflight is hiding their true intentions and past crimes, even onto his last breath. His final actions undo the stasis seal at the depths of the Vault, revealing a blue dragon sick with a painful arcane infection—Umbrelskul, whose pain is restarted after millenia when Telash breaks him out of stasis.

Furious at the blue dragonflight, Telash Greywing is determined to find the secrets that Sindragosa has been hiding in the Arcane Vault. Together with the Sundered Flame, he is certain he will discover more about the origins of the dracthyr... and incriminating evidence against the blue dragonflight.

Telash Greywing: Tear this place apart if you have to!
Telash Greywing: I will expose whatever secrets she locked away within these vaults!
Sindragosa: Telash must not break the final seal. The consequences would be dire... please hurry.

<Upon the death of Telash Greywing.>

Telash Greywing: She... lies...

<The stasis seal in the center of the vault breaks, releasing Umbrelskul from stasis.>

Sindragosa: We are too late... oh, oh no.
Umbrelskul: Mother!
