Ray of frost shouldn't exist

As one of many, many frost mages who like having a permanent water elemental but who took Lonely Winter anyway because it was clearly the better DPS choice for raiding and M+, I am saddened by its removal both for PvE and especially its utility in PvP.Ion's claim that frost mages wanted to be "pure ranged casters" was demonstrated by their talent choices was a gross misreading of the situation. We took Lonely Winter because not doing so largely harmed our PvE performance. Most of us didn't want to be turrets either, yet we took that accursed Rune of Power as pretty much an unfortunately necessary choice to at least be somewhat closer to mediocre DPS ranking rather than the bottom of the barrel. (Oh great, just dropped my Rune of Power now let me Shimmer on out of these mechanics.)Two thumbs up for dumping Rune of Power but I want my water elemental back, without it being a DPS loss.
sure hope bdk can get this kind of rework, bonestorm, blood drinker, consumption, and mark of blood never see gameplay right now, feels bad

I don't care about max DPS. I just want to be a filthy casual and have my water elemental back. <\3
Gonna remain as a casual and ignore the 3 active talents. I liked frost because it was simple. I could output consistent and decent damage while always take the lowest amount of unavoidable dmg in a group because I can afford to have keybinds for defensives. No way am I going to plug 3 more buttons into my rotation.
