I have never had a problem with her holding threat as a DPS while she's tanking. Maybe a mob gets on initial aggro, but it's usually a quick cleanup or if you drag her through the ground effect she creates, it snaps to her right away. The heal is easy to manage to. I understand for some classes it being an issue but anyone with a spammable instant (Ice Lance) then it dies in 4 GCDs and usually takes her back to full without much thought. It's even better if it spawns in an already active AoE (Blizzard/Rain of Fire).
This article is so wrong , but its good that is so wrong , lets not give ideas for Blizz to know how OP she is actually as tank so they nerf her :D
Shes fine as a tank when shes dps lol. She never dies and does enough dmg to hold threat
Yeah this article is weird, author seems to have had a really different experience than most other players. Valeera as a tank deals a lot and the only true danger during delves are the two mobs that spawn from nemesis map. In fact the real "problem" of delves is that it's easier as a healer with a tank Valeera than as a dps with any role Valeera, it's quite counterintuitive.
She isn't terrible at all? She's actually really good as a tank? She had a couple bugs at the start but since 12.0.5 she's fine (while in combat, some of her weird pathing bugs don't affect her in combat)Are you just doing delves while being really undergeared and reckless?
Tell me you don't do delves without telling me you don't do delves. Holy moly, the author here needs to play the game.
I think you need to level up your Valeera. mine will straight up solo a tier 11 delve as tank spec all I have to do is point her at mobs. She is 100x better than Brann.
Writer absolutely misunderstands the Agony mechanic. (also a lot of players misunderstand, they think it drains her)Each time the clone is hit it heals Valeera, it only takes a total of 4 hits. It does not depend on amount of damage at all. it's just simply 4 hits of any kind. Easiest way to deal with it is to put a dot on it. The dot will tick 4 times and heal valeera 4 times while you're doing your regular business. set it and forget it. If your class doesn't have a reliable dot, aoe splash damage is ok (not always reliable), if no splash dmg, use a channel ability directly on it (ideally that ticks atleast 4 times). otherwise, you just have to hit it four separate times manually. I do nothing but 11's with her as a tank and me as a dps (on several classes), rarely a problem.
I'll leave you a free tip, good buddy: play the game before you write about the game. This entire article is full of misinformation, as if you knew absolutely nothing about the subject and relied entirely upon random internet chat boards for your sources before asking an AI bot to put together an article. It really is insane how far Wowhead has fallen, almost as if they were intentionally mirroring Blizzard's descent. If not for the community comments containing actually useful information on database entries, this entire site could be purged with zero loss to the world.
As Dev, Shadow, Arms, and Surv; I have had no issue with her holding aggro (I do tab a lot though). Getting her to get aggro on things on the other hand... I often have to drag enemies through her. She really likes to just shadowstep to something and just 1v1 it. Also the agonies only have 4 health. Each point has a 1-1.5 second cd on auto-harming itself. You do have to do a direct damage ability to trigger the self-damage. Though void ray on dh for some reason works. If you out damage the 25% ticks it does proc faster. If you're dps, tank valeera likes to sit at low health and not die. Some units hurt her more than others, I think its mostly magic damage that downs her. If you're healer spec, she takes a lot more damage. It's a jarring difference. She is worst than Brann first season he had tank. But way better (outside of aggro issues) than s3 brann tank.
Fixed title: All the reasons I'm Wrong About Valeera
I played ranger-classes like mage, shaman(ele), evoker and priest as dps with Valeera as tank. Since if her ghost pop and I shot "heal" her. It's good tank wihout problem, sometimes can annyoing if she pulled. I found guide from YT.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXxa3i5pmOI&t=422s
