Lol. I feel like everyone figured out Zoval was once the arbiter within like 3 minutes of seeing him.Dude has a big hole in his chest....Arbiter is just a construct with a ball floating in plain view right there conveniently in the same place...This cinematic did nothing for me, and I was pretty forgiving as it was. Was expecting Wrathion to run in and be all like "hey guys Azeroth is exploding and stuff."
I loved it. We are united now and ready for what is to come.
The fact that Steve Danuser still has a job is mind-boggling to me, you could literally talk some random off the street and that person could probably write a better story. It's so incredibly dumb how incompetent people can get away with ruining things for way too long.
this might be worse than the nzoth final cinematic
I guess it was... okay. So Zovaal is afraid of some other force. That is some motivation to him. And it's not a bad idea itself, but the way it is presented just in the last cinematic of this adoon seems as if writers came up with it on the last second. All this time he only screamed "ALL WILL SERVE ME", making him look pretty two-dimensional and boring villain (with pretty nice design though). If only it was presented earlier -- maybe through Torghast or Primas, there are actually ways to show us the bad guy motivation even without the need of talking to him – then maybe Zovaal would've been a better character. It's okay to present him as Sargeras 2.0, but that Sargeras from Chronicles who had motivation about "I'd rather see this universe burn than surrender it to the Void slavey", and not that early Sargeras who had motivation "I'm evil because I turned to a demon-titan".It would've been much better if it would be like he learned of the Void during his time as the Arbiter and was so terrified of it, especially if not even Shadowlands are safe (there are secondary easy-to-miss questline in Bastion about how the Void attacked this area), but instead of burning everything, like Sargeras, Zovaal would've came up with his own plan of submitting everyone in order to defeat the Void. The Void was always a big bad magic power that threatened everything, so its okay if Death wanted to get rid of it too.But unfortunately he only managed to yell about serving and only now we learn about why he wanted to submit everything. And its really wasted potential. Too bad.And yeah, the cinematic itself is kinda boring, they better "serve" (sorry) as method of pulling out emotions rather than explaining what was supposed to be explained earlier.
disappointed is the very very light word to describe my feel after this cinematic, whole writing team should be fired in bfa
I love how the end of the cinematic tells you "its closed, pretend shadowlands didnt happen"
Did they just pull a King Logan from Fable 3."I did what I had to do because there is something far more evil out there"This story has already been done. Talk about copypasta
Thanks. I hate it.
So, Order was trying to save us from Fel - Titans/SargerasFel was trying to save us from the Shadow - Burning Legion/Old GodsShadow was trying to save us from Death - N'zoth/The JailerWhat was Death trying to save us from?Light? Life? Something else?We might find it out on the 19th of April.Or not.
its fine, nothing two exciting. It ends the expansion story, the pre fight cinematic was more interesting.
Two years from now, Shadowlands will barely register as a blip on anyone's radar. A failed expansion with an entirely forgettable storyline and pointless antagonist. No lead into the next chapter, no impact from his actions (or defeat) to carry forward. What a monumental, colossal failure of writing.
I wonder how far in advance Blizzard had the whole "The Arbiter is created by fusing a soul with an empty robot" reveal planned, and if they know how many Spamton jokes they're inviting with it now.
They just took Lich king pre swadowpoop lore and copy pasted to Joval kekw only thing that makes sense is that Y'Shaarj will proly come back in next expand the big bad after is probably the crooked serpent(leviathan/void thing) that Il'gynoth talked about,a line from a tbc dungeon boss that his master are from the outside this was about the old gods prior to void lords stuff. They just take old lore and try to stretch it out on new stuff just pathetic at this point
Jesus, compare the writing of WoW today to what Bungie is achieving with Destiny and its night and day. The Witch Queen campaign and the new raid was 1 million times better than this.
Sylvanas? I'm glad f**ng Pelagos didn't turn up..
So he tried to fight something even bigger, something big is coming, its so big that none have heard out from here ever, he carried that for himself, none heard him or listened coz he didnt tell... and...?
Denathrius and his talking sword were honestly the best thing from this expansion lorewise
