Unlike the other Mole mounts, this one is based on the Star Nosed Mole. They have 22 appendages on their nose and are native to northern North America.

As soon as all five levers have been successfully activated at the same time, a message appears in the chat indicating that something is starting to rain in a nearby lake. The rare then appears in the western zone. It takes a while for the enemy to appear, so even the most distant players have enough time to fly to the combat area. He can drop Regurgitated Mole Reins. You can also loot it if you are not 80.

The mole machine on the shore next to the spawn point despawns when the lurker dies, probably an indicator that the levers are up when it's there?

Here's a screenshot of me looting it, on a level 70 character, that hasn't even touched the campaign or any quests.

So yeah, it's possible to get it that way. Just park your alts there, the kills are fairly quick, however be prepared for a farm. It's not a high droprate by any means.

Dropped on my 11th attempt. I am highly suspiscous that drop chance is much higher if you pull a lever. It was first time I made a group and pulled a lever. In previous groups it was similar case for some other folks.

Hey everybody, I dropped that Mount today and someone offered me a million gold for it, obviously i sold it :D
Now I'm a bit afraid im not gonna be able loot it again for myself, so does anybody know if u can loot this mount multiple times? (respectively if you can loot mounts from rares multiple times in gerenal?) -> i mean why would i be able to trade it of i cant get it multiple times, but wanna make sure :>

To offer some realism here: I got this on my 111th attempt. Around 100th attempt I announced where I was at, and two people in raid said they were at their 200th and 240th attempt - all 3 of us without mount drop at that point. Boss did eventually drop on ~30th attempt of the day on a lev70 char, so no reason to think it's not dropping because you're doing using lev70s, or you've done it too many times that day.

Based on seeing mount drop probably few hundred times, I believe in the 2% offered here. Most I saw per kill was 4 few times, basically always there were 2-3 drops in full raids, never 0.

Just don't fall in disbelief that this is something you can just go grab later when you have time in handful attempts. Right now is the optimal time as you can find groups pop up every 5 minutes. It won't continue like this when raid releases, and in 11.1+ you probably have to create your own group most of the time. In 12.0+ you'll be relying on discord channels to have your 2% chances. Earlier the better, as there's no guarantee you won't be one of us to whom this takes 100+ attempts.

First time I killed this which was a few minutes ago it dropped me the mount guess its was pure chance for me. Sad thing was tho that so many people were there to help spawn and kill it but no one bothered to post it in chat. Lucky I got there when it was near full HP and was able to alert a handful more people to tag it who would of been unaware which is quite the odd thing with chat in the last 3 expansions its gone to dead silence unless I bring up a topic or ask a question or I am announcing rares etc to help people. Otherwise nothing is ever said and its rather annoying to see. Just glad I don't have to repeat kill this rare for the mount now.

Can 100% confirm that you can get it on characters that have previously looted it. I received it for the second time today on my main. Just want to clarify for all the people asking if it can be looted twice on the same character :) Best of luck to everyone!

It appears that participating in lever activation might increase your chances of getting the mount.
Both I and another person who received the mount were involved in activating the levers. However, it's unclear if this is a confirmed factor or just a coincidence!
