- if you wanna kill it too, and meet the criteria, go to the location and pull the thread (darkish) on the bottom-left side of the experiment table.
- as iLvl 152 Blood DK, his HP was around 188k.

So far these are the vendors listed that are using Grateful Offering as a currency. It seems most items are cosmetic or collectables. I find it odd that Night Fae has three vendors, but perhaps WoWhead's database is incomplete on this.

Is there a limit on these per day? I did the spawned rares in Ardenweald and Bastion but when I did Gieger in Maldraxxus I didn't receive any.

You can apparently loot these even if you're not part of the zone's Covenant.
I just looted 2 Grateful Offerings from the Night Fae event in Star Lake Amphiteatre even though I'm Necrolords. You just need someone else to summon the monster.

If you plan on farming these out well before you'll actually have the anima to spend them, this is how many you'll need per covenant.

Kyrian: 395 +50 per weapon off of Adjutant Galos, +10 per weapon off of Forgelite Neptira
Necrolord: 405 +50 per weapon off of Su Zettai, +10 per weapon off of Slayer Araya
Venthyr: 365 +50 per weapon off of Chachi the Artiste, +10 per weapon off of Gregor the Pallidblade

+35 for each Chronicle of Lost Memories

These become more available after you unlock tier 2 of your Anima Conductor. That unlocks several repeatable quests that reward 3 Grateful Offering each.

The Chronicle of Lost Memories is an item that can be purchased via your Covenant's Renown vendor.

WRONG, at least for Night Fae, on my main (which did most of their content), it's sold by the 'extra Rep NPC' (from Court of the Night) at the Hibernal Hollow, not Heart of the Forest.

Grateful Offering is a currency you can collect once you have unlocked the Anima Conductor in your covenant. The Anima Conductor is one of 4 options for using the anima you've dumped into your Sanctum Reservoir. The Sanctum upgrade options are shown as round icons on your Sanctum Reservoir screen. Choices include your follower command table, covenant transport network, the Anima Conductor and a covenant-specific set of activities. The Anima Conductor is a fountain-like structure that appears in your covenant hall once you've unlocked this feature. For 25 Reservoir Anima you can open a daily anima stream from your covenant hall to another location. Click on the Anima Conductor to see where you can direct anima. Once you've made a choice, an icon of an anima tower will be be highlighted and the anima stream will be illustrated on the map. (Later, you can create permanent anima streams.)

Click on the Anima Conductor and mouseover the anima tower icon at the destination you've picked. There will be a one sentence description of a special activity you can do in that area to receive 2 to 3 Grateful Offerings plus anima rewards to deposit in your Sanctum Reservoir:

a rare or a powerful rare (marked by a giant star on your zone map).
a treasure (marked by a very large treasure chest on your zone map).
a world quest. This will have a regular world quest marker (!), but mousing over the special WQ will show a Grateful Offering reward. The world quest may be some distance from where you are streaming anima.
a pair of daily quests. The blue daily markers (!) may show as a single marker on your zone map until you are close to the quest givers. Look near the anima streaming location and mouseover the quest marker to check for Grateful Offering rewards. These dailies can be more time consuming than usual.
an "enhancement" such as a bodyguard with limited health, a special passive ability or a buff that applies only in your covenant zone. Go to the location marked by a scroll on your zone map. Different NPCs at this location may each offer an enhancement choice. The enhancement option does not generate Grateful Offerings, but it may help you level. (Check to see if there is a covenant transport point near your covenant hall that takes you close to the location of the scroll. The transport point won't be on your zone map and it may not be noticeable at first.)

Check the Currency tab on your character pane to see your Grateful Offering balance. You can spend Grateful Offerings at your covenant vendor or other vendors - see the post above by lizymarie. Most transmogs sold by your covenant vendor cost Reservoir Anima plus Grateful Offerings.

Anima streams and the related quest/activity

I found that if I start an anima stream on one day and return to the Anima Conductor at an earlier time the next day, the same anima stream may still be active. This provides an opportunity to gain extra Grateful Offerings by doing the quest for that anima stream.

You can try different anima stream locations each day to see what the related quests/enhancements are like. (See the Guides listed below for the specifics for your covenant.) Each day that you select an anima stream location, you earn one anima point. The points are shown as anima balls in a progress bar on the Anima Conductor map. When you've earned 10 points, you decide which anima location you want to "reinforce". The quest/activity associated with that location becomes a permanent daily for you. Once you "reinforce" an anima stream location, you can't undo the choice. However, this is mainly a question of timing, since you will get to activate all 6 anima streams.

Try to activate an anima stream every day for 25 Reservoir Anima even if you don't have time to do the related quest. You'll get one anima point (ball) and you'll keep moving towards getting a permanent stream. (You don't have to complete the quest.)

Once you activate the Anima Conductor, you can receive Grateful Offerings by defeating an Anima Conductor rare in another covenant zone. (A member of that covenant will have to summon the rare.)

This is the total number of Grateful Offering that you will require if you wish to collect everything* that is learnable for your respective Class/Covenant:
*Excluding Chronicle of Lost Memories as I'd assume you already have all of the legendaries through normal acquisition by the time you grind out all of the Grateful Offering you need for everything else.

Edit on 7th November 2021: Updated the table to include the extra Soulshapes/Crittershapes added in 9.1.5 for purchase by Night Fae characters. They total an additional 75 Grateful Offering required to purchase all of them.

Edit on 1st August 2021: Updated the table to reduce values on all relevant rows of the Night Fae and Necrolord columns (and Total column). I initially did these calculations prior to renown 39 being available, and I have just discovered that the mounts that were supposed to become available for each covenant to purchase at Renown 39 were just granted to all players upon reaching Renown 39 instead (yet still remain on the vendors, strangely). I've also discovered that I somehow missed the Renown 39 mounts for Kyrian and Venthyr in my initial calculations, so there are no changes to the values in those columns.

For reference, Night Fae require 40 less Grateful Offering than my initial calculations as Enchanted Shadeleaf Runestag is granted at Renown 39 instead of just becoming available for purchase; and Necrolord require 50 less Grateful Offering than my initial calculations as Armored Plaguerot Tauralus is granted at Renown 39 instead of just becoming available for purchase. Kyrian are granted Eternal Phalynx of Purity and Venthyr are granted Gravestone Battle Armor, but no reduction in Grateful Offering on the below table because of my error.

Easiest way to get everything if you're a completionist using the least number of alts is to use a Warrior to grind out the Plate and the majority of the weapons, a DH for the Leather and the Warglaives, a Mage/Priest/Warlock for the Cloth and the Wands, and a Shaman/Hunter for the Mail.

Night Fae have a small chance to loot Wild Glimmerfur Prowler off Valfir the Unrelenting which will save them 75 Grateful Offering if they get lucky.

Kyrian have a small chance to loot Phalynx of Humility out of Penitence of Purity which will save them 100 Grateful Offering if they get lucky.

Necrolord have a small chance to loot Armored Plaguerot Tauralus off Sabriel the Bonecleaver which will save them 100 Grateful Offering if they get lucky.

Venthyr have a small chance to loot Horrid Dredwing off Harika the Horrid which will save them 100 Grateful Offering if they get lucky.

For the Hardcore Completionists, Elwyn sells 2x 1-handed Maces which share the same appearance, and Mar'lan does also - I have counted those as 1x weapon on each vendor for the purpose of this calculation - if for some reason you wanted to collect each individual "Source", add an extra 60 Grateful Offering to the number in this table.

For the Hardcore Completionists, Adjutant Galos sells 2x 1-handed Axes, 2x 1-handed Swords, and 2x Daggers which share the same appearance as each other, and Forgelite Neptira does also - I have counted those as 1x weapon each on each vendor for the purpose of this calculation - if for some reason you wanted to collect each individual "Source", add an extra 180 Grateful Offering to the number in this table.

For the Hardcore Completionists, Su Zettai sells 2x 1-handed Axes which share the same appearance, and Slayer Araya does also - I have counted those as 1x weapon on each vendor for the purpose of this calculation - if for some reason you wanted to collect each individual "Source", add an extra 60 Grateful Offering to the number in this table.

For the Hardcore Completionists, Chachi the Artiste sells 2x 1-handed Swords, and 2x Staves which share the same appearance, and Gregor the Pallidblade does also - I have counted those as 1x weapon each on each vendor for the purpose of this calculation - if for some reason you wanted to collect each individual "Source", add an extra 120 Grateful Offering to the number in this table.

I just started trying to farm these.

I'm Kyrian. I can get the greatful offerings from the Kyrian events, but I'm not getting them from any other covenants events.

Are others seeing this as well?

Here is me killing Harika the Horrid and not getting any offerings from looting him.

Edit: So this appears to be dropping from some, but not all.

Edit 2: Went back the next day and had the same results. The rares in Ardenweald dropped the offerings. Rares elsewhere did not. It the drop chance wasn't 100% for certain rares when it's not your covenant, that would make since. But this seems consistently inconsistent enough that it seems like it's bugged to me.

Regardless of your covenant of choice, you can always get offerings from:

Night Fae theatre event
Valfir
Wingflayer the Cruel (Bastion rare near Necrotic Wake)

In other words, by being Necrolord or Venthyr you can get more offerings per day, as Venthyr and Necro anima conductor activities will only give offerings if you are in the respective covenant.

As a Venthyr/Necrolord the maximum Grateful Offering obtainable per day is an overall of 23.

Just got 8 of these from a Tribute of the Ambitious, which was a reward from Aiding Maldraxxus, so seems like that's new with 9.1.5.

As of 9.1.5 you're supposed to get these from the daily Callings... however on my alts I'm not getting any from callings (and subsequently wasted my time doing these before realizing).
I have the renown 80 covenant swapping unlocked from my main, my alts are varying renown from 40-50 and I'm wondering why they can't earn grateful offerings from callings yet...

If you don't want to waste anima on your 2nd covenant upgrade but still need nenown from the daily, turn back to main covenant with lv3 anima conductor before you open the tribute chest and you will get full amount of Grateful Offering !

I found quite a good method for Grateful Offerings for those who have excess anima. (I imagine this has been posted before but I was too lazy to look for it)

Via the Stitchyard Necrolord Covenant at Revered buying boxes from Clyde. I purchased 15 for 15k Anima and obtained 106 Offerings.

LATE 9.2 Edit:

With the insane abundance of anima in Zereth Mortis the amount of Offerings now being rewarded through the anima dump into Clyde is huge. You can of course farm ZM with a different covenant and then transfer your anima! Happy hunting.

Credit goes to Exephia for discovering the converting of Reservoir Anima into Grateful Offering.

If you have a necrolord covenant character with a level 5 abomination stichyard building, simply go talk to Clyde.
Clyde will be offering the following boxes:
Undying Army Weapon Cache
Ascended Chest of Arms
Weapon Satchel of the Wild Hunt
Martial Tithe of the Court of Harvesters

Each box i tested multiple times with each yielding the same result of my main receiving 4-8 Grateful Offering for each covenant type box.
I do not know if you need to have done the same achievements such as Conducting Anima on that specific character buying the boxes or in other words got your anima conductor to level 3 for this to work.

Another thought of the Grateful Offering dropping from every single box i open might be due to me already having obtaining the weapon tmog from their respected loot tables and learned them.

If I understand correctly, each Cov's xmog is unique. So, if you want to collect all the xmog, you will have to run one of each armor class thru each Cov. Which means, if you have one of each class, you can put one Leather class in each Cov, but one of your Plate classes will have to switch to the fourth Cov after buying all the xmog at its first Cov, and both Mail classes will have to switch.

This does not appear to apply to Ensembles such as Ensemble: Sinful Inquisitor's Vestments; which, while Cov-specific, are acct-wide and can be worn by every armor class.

If I am misunderstanding, please let me know so I don't waste time switching Covs, lol.

Since this is not in the comments even if free swaping between covenants is a thing for 5 months already, I will write it now for people that want to farm offerings fast.

You can complete anima conductor's activities and get Grateful Offering on ALL 4 covenants EACH DAY.

Each covenant's activities assuming you have it's conductor at rank 3 gives you a total of 16x Grateful Offering (15 for Venthyr).

Completing them on all 4 covenants gives you (3x16)+15= 63x Grateful Offering
Also completing a calling that you accepted from a covenant with rank 3 conductor gives you at least 14x Grateful Offering... I'm not sure about the maximum but sometimes im getting 22 (maybe it can go higher)

Patterns Within Patterns weekly quest from Zereth Mortis now gives up to 18 Patterns Within Patterns (The amount you get depends on your anima conductor level. You don't have to pick the quest while you are on a covenant with a Rank 3 Conductor, you can swap just before turn in and get the full amount)

TOTAL AMOUNT OF Grateful Offering PER DAY = 77-85 ≈ 81 (+18 per week)

In case you don't have all 4 conductors at rank 3 (or you dont want to upgrade them all) you can calculate ur own daily amount by adding up each conductor's total rewards (for Venthyr calculate 1 less because the WQ and the 2 dailies give 2 offerings each instead of 3, however the Treasure and Enemy Champion give 3 offerings each instead of 2):
-Rank 1 = 4 (Treasure & Enemy Champion)
-Rank 2 = 13 (9 additional from WQ and 2 dailies)
-Rank 3 = 16 (3 additional from Powerfull Foe)

EDIT: Updated for 9.2.5 (With 9.2.5, we get double offerings from Callings and Patterns Within Patterns weekly quest now gives offerings aswell)

REMEMBER- although your Grateful Offerings from Daily Callings are doubled in 9.2.5, to get the full benefit you need to have your Anima Conductor maxed in that covenant. Otherwise you're missing out.

Not specifically mentioned yet, but given we're reaching the end of the expansion and collector mains will likely have everything they need from these, Offerings do not really have an efficient spillover item. The only real option are the cageable pets, Willowbreeze and Stemmins. As these require 250 pet charms too, not reliable. Get what you need, then you can drop the daily farming.

As of 11.0.2 it seems like Grateful Offerings are either removed from Warbound or are bugged so you don't see the option to transfer on both the sender and receiver.

This item is now warbound and can be transferred. Great way to get some new mogs.
My tip if you have some spare Reservoir Anima and want to buy some Grateful Offering then go to Au'Dara to buy Traveler's Anima Cache. Then go to an alt that has Necrolord covenant with a level 5 abomination stichyard building, simply go talk to Clyde. More guidance in the older comments.
