- 15 vs 15 each faction.
- There are 4 towers and 1 flag.
- Every two seconds, your faction gains 1 victory point for each tower you control. You can control any of the four towers at any time.
- To capture a tower, it's a game of king of the hill. The more people standing at the tower, the faster it caps to your faction.
- Any tower you control also lets your side control the graveyard located at that tower. If you control no towers, your graveyard will be the battleground start point.
- To capture the flag, you must take it to a tower your faction controls. Each flag cap is a bonus 100 victory points.
- First team to 2000 victory points wins!
Note: there are 2 towers on each side of the map, for each faction. However, you can control enemy towers and cap to their side if you want. Controlling all 4 hours gives an additional point, meaning 5 points every 2 seconds.
Got that from Warcraft Movies.

Take in consideration that the flag in Eye of the Storm isn't instant cap, It's like capping a flag in Arathi Basin. So you must provide cover for the teammate capping it. Once you have in your possesion it will show you carrying the flag to all players in the battleground.
After bringing it to a controlled tower and gain your points it will respawn back to its initial position.

This sounds like a pretty interesting BG. The map almost looks as big as AV? I really hope not because that is a lot of running. Does anyone know what the white flag in the middle is for?

The rewards are really nice and its a little better than instancing because you dont need to be attuned, i see people with green armor defeat tier 3 in this place and its not hard to imagine, its for the people who are the casual player and cant spend 6 hours raiding everyday.

Your map is reversed. Alliance should be on the north half and Horde on the south half.

Actually, I believe the figures are closer to these:
1 Tower - 1 point / tick
2 Towers - 2 points / tick
3 Towers - 5 points / tick
4 Towers - 10 points / tick
Ideally, 4 towers is great because the other team can't even score a flag.

I wish there was a place for this like there is for the other Battlegrounds, like Arathi Basin in the Arathi Highlands, Alterac Vally in the Alterac Mountains, and Warsong Gulch in Ashenvale Forest. This place should also have a starting point so that we can go there for maybe buying additional armor/weapon pieces and potions and bandages. It could be on the outskirts of Netherstorm or something, because that is what it seems to look like and you can obviously only get to it by a flying mount.
One understandable problem with this tho is the fact that all of the other points had caves which lead in to a place that you could not access without actually entering the BG. The problem is that in Netherstorm, we can obviously use flying mounts or forms to see the places without entering the BG.
Just a thought however =D

I don't understand why there are no faction PvP rewards for Eye of the Storm like the other 3 battlegrounds. Maybe at 70 there are enough rewards with the grand marshal / high warlord stuff but it would be nice to have more variety.

I am pretty certain that the more towers your faction holds the more points you get for a flag capture. I haven't been in Eye of the Storm recently, but I recall players asking the flag carrier to delay a flag cap until they had finished capturing an additional base. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Confirmed. You do get extra points for having more bases captured.

agreed if you can take 3 bases. you will win without ever caping a flag.
评论来自

unlike Arathi Basin, all you need to take a base is to have more people than the other people do at that base.
The flag capture works similar to the Towers in East Plaguelands.
eg: Alliance have 4 people at Mage Tower. Horde take 6 people, the "control" bar will slide toward horde.

I don't know if other people are having this problem with the EoTS community of people, but I find that a lot of them are either blind, or they have a problem with Defence. I've been in plenty of EoTS games where the Horde should have won, hands down. Yet because of a few people who think the Flag is godly on a 3 cap(someone needs to tell them...) There's anywhere from 5 - 10 players in the middle, killing 3 - 4 Alliance in the middle, and we are left to defend against the remaining forces of the Alliance that decimate us.
Also, I don't know if this helps you guys or not. But I find the Alliance generally tends to Zerg Rush Fel Reaver, and then camp flag if Horde can't get their stuff right.

Scoring in EOTS:
Control:
1 tower= 1pt/2sec + 75 per flag
2 towers= 2pts/2sec + 85 per flag
3 towers= 5pts/2sec + 100 per flag
4 towers= 10pts/2sec + 500 per flag
There are many winning strategies, however, there are some basic concepts that need to be mentioned.
While there is a flag in this BG, it should moreso be considered one of the 5 'points' on the map. So think of this map like Arathi Basin, except there are 4 towers and a flag point. You need to control three points to win the game. So you can choose 2 towers and the flag point, or just 3 towers.
Very important point:
This battleground is designed so that if you only control one tower that you can
*NOT*
win by just repeatedly capping the flag. You can chain cap the flag and you will still lose. This was done to prevent a team from simply turtling all of their team at one tower and just running the flag back and forth. To make sure this point is driven home, let's do the math.
A team with 3 towers will net 5 points per 2 seconds. Since you need 2000 points to win, this means you will need 400 'ticks' of 2 seconds, or 800 seconds to win the game on towers alone. A team with 1 tower will net 1 point per 2 seconds. In those same 400 'ticks' of 2 seconds, this team will only net 400 points. So this would mean in the 800 seconds that it would take for the other team to win, this team with one tower would need to cap the flag 22 times in under 800 seconds. Since there is a 10 second cooldown after the flag is captured, this makes such a feat functionally impossible.
(If a team was skilled enough to come close to pulling it off, they would be better served putting their skill to work on getting more towers.)
What this means is that if a team only has one tower, they should abandon any attempt to get the flag, and instead work to get more towers. The other team will have an advantage here, but that's the point. If you have three towers, you have the advantage.
When both teams hold two towers, the game then boils down to which team can better control the center - or which team can take one of the opponents towers.
Teams that lose in this battleground usually encounter some or all of the following:
-Lack of communication
-A failure to defend points they hold
-Players who fight on the road when they are not winning
-Players who fight for the flag when they only have one tower
One should note that defense need not be bloated to be effective. One or two people is all you need on a tower so long as they can inform others of incoming enemies and delay them until help arrives. The key is for the rest of the team to respond to the threat. You can either defend the tower under attack, or you can assault an opponent's tower if that is more viable.

I'd have to agree with you, but the idea of it being a AB/WSG mix (As I usually describe it to my friends and they agree to an extent), it's more AB, focusing more on the Tower Caps, and the Flag receives a certain number of points corresponding to the number of Towers you posses. And unlike WSG you don't EVER need to touch the flag to be victorious in Eye. Although with the new achievement system and the 3-4 achievements revolving around said Flag, I'm sure everyone will be at least trying to get the 3 cap without dieing one.
I am a avid Eye player, and I'd like to consider myself pro, although I know I'm not...we can't be gods at everything, now can we?
Either way, I have found myself losing my voice on occasion as I yell at idiots(As I type on the comp, I sometimes say it to myself, just so happens I've done that ... 3 times in Eye) who camp the flag at a 3-1 tower ratio(Alliance Favor). I cannot stress the fact that the Tower is in fact the true way to win in Eye, and I hope you people agree, however with the addition of the flag(Cannot forget the flag). I believe it is there just to speed the game up and not make it another AB(So to speak).
However, this is just my input in the situation.

Thanks for the great input on victory points. It really drives home the need to control towers, rather than flag.
The typical beginning of this BG is each side gaining control of their respective towers, and one side winning the battle of the middle, i.e., flag. I think it's good to have a strong push to the flag at the beginning, while having teams of 3 or 4 each taking your side's towers. Having an initial flag cap gives your team a lead in points, making your opponents play catch up with their offense...and it's always easier to communicate on defense rather than offense.
Regarding flag-oriented achievements, it seems perfectly acceptable to inform your team of your intentions, and to allow fellow teammates to accomplish their individual goals without sacrificing victory. You'll get your turn.
Communication is always a problem, in any BG, especially when the communication usually comes in the form of attacks and insults...please don't distract me from the game by screaming "NOOB", etc., at whomever didn't do what you wanted them to. There's a learning curve in any BG, and everyone is at different points on that curve. Constructive criticism is good, provided the tone isn't insulting or demeaning....that just leads to more disorganization and poor communication. Can't tell you how many times I've "ignored" someone who wouldn't shut up, even when I agreed with them on principle.
If you've been 3-capped early, don't give up. If you're down 500 points, don't give up. That's what your opponents want. A team that's down that much can buckle down, organize, communicate, and come back to take the victory. I've been on both sides of that equation many times. Usually, however, people give up once they see it's not going to be an easy victory. If you lose, you lose, but at least do it standing up, rather than screwing your teammates!
Jehoiakim made some excellent points, providing us with the "four commandments" or EOTS, so I'm going to repeat what he offered....
"Teams that lose in this battleground usually encounter some or all of the following:
-Lack of communication
-A failure to defend points they hold
-Players who fight on the road when they are not winning
-Players who fight for the flag when they only have one tower"
That about sums it up.

strategy:
1)SPREAD!
-ten people killing one feral druid = losing towers
2) try to slow down enemies, provoke them to make groups
3)circle around the BG
-try to ride to enemy towers which are without defence (for example at the other side of their main army)
4) take flags or prevent enemies from taking them

As of 3.2, the time it requires to capture the center flag will be reduced to 8 seconds, down from 10 seconds.
Additionally, the game will end when one team reaches 1600 victory points, down from 2000.

Brackets are the following: 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69 70-74 75-79 80-84 85
By the time you gain access to this BG, you can queue up for Random BGs and gain the extra honor as like it was a Call to arms.

My very first game here, I thunderstormed at least five people to their deaths, on one occasion, two at a time. The terrain is extremely treacherous in Eye of the Storm, make sure to never place yourself between an elemental shaman or fire mage and a sheer drop, or you will at the very least be removed from the fight.
A small organized group in the center with an elemental shaman can make would-be flag runners just give up trying. Thunderstorm disorganizes and separates enemy group members handily. Earthquake is also highly useful in this battleground to deter advancing melee or to disrupt ranged support. If the enemy probes your group tentatively, keep a Flame Shock on someone in their group and soften them up with Fire Novas.

Nifty Stopwatch
DOES work in battlegrounds, I tried it in
Eye of the Storm
today. HOWEVER if you want to use it while carrying the flag, word of advice use it after u pick up the flag (IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY DROP THE FLAG), however pick the flag up again (with no cast time/capturing time) and you will still keep the same sprint buff from using the trinket. Sprint away little gnome sprint away!
Warning:
- Flag will drop upon using trinket while carrying flag
- Buff remains and you can re-pick flag up and run with it
- Dont use trinket and then capture flag, as you just wasted most of the sprint buff thus making it useless (Capturing flag is approx 5 seconds)

Eye of the Storm
Objective
To acquire 1600 resources before your opponent. Resources are acquired in two ways: passively through holding towers and actively through capturing the flag from the middle to one of the towers you own.
Holding 1 tower earns your team 1 resource point per 2 seconds. Flags capped are worth 75 points.
Holding 2 towers earns your team 2 points per 2 seconds. Flag caps are worth 85 points.
Holding 3 towers earns your team 5 points per 2 seconds. Flag caps are worth 100 points.
Holding 4 towers earns your team 10 points per 2 seconds. Flag caps are worth 500 points.
It is mathematically impossible to win with only 1 tower, even if you run the flag the whole time. Your team will acquire around 90-105 points per 30 seconds (at best), but in that same 30 seconds your opponent with 3 towers will have earned 150 points.
Strategy
Knowing that holding only 1 tower guarantees a loss, a team must have 2 towers at all times as a minimum condition for victory. If your opponent knows this, their best response is to hold 2 towers also. So then what? Wait for 1600 seconds until the game is over? Which ever team capped towers first wins the game then. Is it better to stay put, attack a 3rd tower, or go for flag? Or some combination of all 3? Let’s think about that and let’s also think about what your opponent should be doing as a best response.
What happens if both sides stay put?
800 seconds elapses and whoever capped towers first is the winner.
What happens if your team stays put and your opponent knows you plan on staying put? Their best response is to leave no tower defense and go for the flag and/or a 3rd tower. So staying put isn’t an option, because even a moderately competent opponent will win every game.
What happens if you try and maintain 2 towers while going for flag?
You might think this is the best option. What is your opponent’s best response if he knows you’re going to go for the flag? His options are to fight you for the flag or attempt to cap one of your towers. If he goes for the flag, the winner of the flag will be the team which uses best tactics. If you have manpower going for the flag, and they attack a relatively weakly defended tower, they cap it leaving you with only 1 base – a position which will always lead to you losing.
What happens if you maintain 2 towers while going for a 3rd?
If you leave your opponent with only 1 tower, they cannot win even if they run the flag the whole time. So what is your opponent’s best response to you attacking a 3rd tower? They have a few options: defend the tower, go for flag, or try to push for one of your weakly defended bases. If they push for one of your towers, a game of round robin is likely to ensue with them losing the 3 towers they leave undefended and them capping the 1 weakly defended tower each time. So that strategy won’t work. What if your opponent runs the flag? If they run the flag, they’ll cap it, but with only 1 tower they cannot win. Your opponent’s last option is to fight in defense of the tower. Whoever uses the best tactics wins the tower.
Having played these scenarios out, it should be clear that a team should never attempt to capture the flag and they should always attempt to take a 3rd tower.
We have 3 towers, now what?
At this point, your opponent is in a bad position. They can cross a bridge and go for one of your towers and risk being 4-capped or they can attempt to take back their tower. At this point you need to be so efficient at killing your opponent that you drive them all the way back to their permaspawn on the rock. This will allow for an easy 4-cap. Your opponent’s best response is to wear you down through attrition (protect your healers) and beat you tactically or hope they can get a couple people past your line to cap a weakly defended tower.
Assume your opponent knows this strategy.
Go for 3 towers, go for a 4th tower, then spawncamp your opponent. Leave only as much tower defense as is reasonable which is determined by the likelihood of your opponent’s actions. If you know your opponent isn’t going to go for one of your towers, no defense needs to be there. If your opponent has stealth, you may need to leave behind 2 or more per tower. If there’s a big rush coming to your tower, you should meet them with a superior force. If your opponent goes for flag, capitalize on their mistake.

To get out of the purple orb a little earlier take a Noggenfogger Elixir and drink it until you get the buff that reduces your size.
Then all you do is mount up at the back of the orb and jump while canceling your buff.
I know doing this is a bit cheesy but it's best to let you all know, in case those dirty Alliance do it!
