Profit... None will be made with this pattern should it stay like it is. Currently, this is the cheapest way for a tailor to get from 500 to 525. This means (assuming the pattern isn't a ridiculously low drop) that every tailor will be making 25 of these. The first tailors will make some bank. The slow ones will end up with 25 gnomish army knives in their bank.

The real question is why would a level 500 recipe use wool cloth and heavy leather?

My guess is that this was intended to be a lower-level vanity item, but they never got around to implementing it.

Although that wouldn't explain the buttons (which are pickpockets from lvl 84-85 mobs)

That would explain why the rivets sell for 10g rather than the 1k that people were claiming earlier in the expansion. They don't actually serve a purpose because this pattern and its resultant item (which is stunning, I must say, what what) will forever be on the to-do list at BHQ. >.<

My main is a tailor. I have a rogue alt. I've pickpocketed enough rivets for six hats. So, IF (and I mean IF) the pattern actually released I'll have five in AH as soon as I get the pattern. After I sell them I'll have... ONE...BILLION...DOLLARS!

The Rivets seem to be of Uncommon quality now on the PTR (4.3) according to Wowhead, fingers crossed they actually implement this recipe with 4.3!

According to a GM, this item is not currently available in the game.

We're unfortunately not able to give out game hints of any kind, but as for the Black Silk Vest and High Society Top Hat recipes, I'm afraid they may be currently un-used, even if the items are currently in the game files.
