Stealth decreases the range at which players and mobs can see you (and thus, react). Druids have an invisible "stealth skill" called Subtlety that doesn't appear on their character sheet and always increases by 5 for each level (thus at level 70 you have a base Subtlety skill of 350). All characters also have a Stealth Detection skill, which also doesn't appear on their character sheet and always increases by 5 for each level (thus at level 70 you have a base Stealth Detection skill of 350).

At equal levels of Subtlety and Stealth Detection, a stealthed character can be seen 5 yards away. Each 5 points of skill changes that range by 1 yard either way, up to a maximum of 10 yards and a minimum of 1 yard. So for example:

If a stealthed cat has a Subtlety of 350, a Stealth Detection of 340 could only see him 3 yards away
If a stealthed cat has a Subtlety of 350, a Stealth Detection of 365 could see him 8 yards away
If a stealthed cat has a Subtlety of 5, a Stealth Detection of 400 could see him 10 yards away

Keep in mind that Stealth Detection only works for your frontal 180 degree cone. A level 1 cat could sneak up on a level 70 human warlock with Perception popped, Hyper-Vision Goggles, a Catseye Elixir, and a Felhunter out, and still be undetected as long as the cat approached from behind.

Recently in patch 2.3.2 my friend got this enchant on an old cloak which he had just replaced, we are both NE rogues and we wanted to see the difference it made only to find that we could not tell a difference at all. Can anyone actually confirm, being a nightelf, that this cloak enchant stacks with shadowmeld + stealth, and also what the enchant actually does, seeing as I could see him from the same distance as he could see me while stealthed.

Probably lost on most but this perfect for taking a green cloak and making it into a faux cloak of elven kind.

Druids cannot shapeshift into any form what-so-ever at level 1.

This change went live. I just discovered this. It gives more dodge than cloak - dodge for ALL classes at all currently available levels (haven't checked 81-85). In addition it provides the most agility of any cloak enchant pre-bc. All melee dps, physical dps, and tanks should take this enchant on a heirloom cloak.

Sweet zombie Jesus, this is so best in slot for any kind of melee/tank class it's not even funny.

And there are going to be heirloom cloaks now too, so it's not just twinks any more.

Hell, I was making decent gold just from shifting the old version to rogues, but now...blimey, it's like Christmas!

Just had this put on the strength DPS heirloom cloak and mailed it to a fresh paladin I plan on leveling. At level 1, your base dodge is 7.15%. After putting the cloak on it jumped up to 20.99%. Pretty powerful for low levels, and even more so if you play a class that gets 2 AP per point of agility.

Easily the best enchant for your heirloom cloak for a rogue, hunter, feral druid, warrior or enhancement shaman. Simply amazing really.

Also very useful for any prot spec with the + 8 dodge

This enchant reaches its maximum potential when the character reaches level 55. This is probably one of the best enchants for an agility tank class prior to attaining your class mastery.

This is the best Agility cloak enchant for Heirlooms, until level 50 when Shadowlands cloak enchants activate.
It beats out BFA and Legion cloak enchants.
Odd, but cool. ;)
