I checked for science if the sunlight combo would work against Elementals: It doesn't.

I feel this is vague. Yes, I understand that elementals are exempt from weather effects. However, the wording is ambiguous.

Take "Darkness" for example, which makes pets be considered "Blind" for its duration.

If a move said "Does blah blah if the weather is darkness" it should work against an elemental, in my opinion -- because whether the elemental is exempt from the weather condition or not, the weather is still darkness. On the other hand, if it said "Does blah blah against blinded pets," THEN the elemental should be exempt from it.

Basically, my complaint about the ambiguity is, simply: it should state somehow implicitly that the opponent must actually be affected by the weather effect in question, and not simply that such a weather effect needs to exist.

Similarly styled battle pet abilities that deal flat damage (base 50) exactly between the two variations of this with no setup but give a 2 turn recharge period, and have a 5 round cooldown:
