This monster is a big level 102 worg (draenor wolf) with currently 10471Khp. He's surrounded by level 100 wolf who deals 100K to a level 100 arm warrior with 588 ilevel. He might interest a lot of people, since he drops a black wolf mount.

This guy is brutal. Thought I'd have a bit of fun with him and tried kiting him around on a rogue with burst of speed and Shuriken Toss. He moves fast but I was able to keep my distance even with 3 extra smaller wolves with him. He despawned instantly when I kited him past Stonefang Outpost on my first play, and again as I kited him around the area beneath Bladespire Fortress.
So he appears to have some sort of leashing.

He will 1 shot anyone, even tank's with cd's, just killed him in a raid of 35 ppl. Cleared the add's first, and nuked him. It help's alot if ppl use their garrison skill Call to arms. Those mobs use taunt. We got no loot tho :)

Nok-Karosh is one of 7 new rarespawns with associated mount drops. Nok-Karosh drops a single unbound (tradable) mount which teaches Garn Nighthowl. Warlords of Draenor adds 8 variations of wolf mounts, with this being an unarmored black version.

6 of these rarespawns have a 100% chance to reward their respective mounts for everyone that participates in the kill.

The 7th, 诺卡罗什, is unique in that only 1 夜嚎铁颚狼 drops from him. The mount is unbound, meaning it can be traded or sold on the auction house.

巨型灰牙野猪 is received from killing Gorok in 霜火岭.
血蹄公牛 is received from killing Nakk the Thunderer in 纳格兰.

his spawn is near a gy. myself and a raid of 90-92's managed to kill him eventually with pretty much every1 dying several times, tho there were periods of successful kiting. raid leader switched loot policy just before he dropped and ninja'd the mount; on behalf of every1 in that raid, i hope his death is painful and imminent.

As for respawning, sat farming him till the guy ninja looted it he spawned around 20 mins after each kill.
This was at 15/11/2014 before the realms went down so might change. Will update as soon as I find out.

Just killed it twice. It spawned again shortly after the first. Got 1 mount for the whole raid each time. It is BOE. The adds can be CCed before you pull the boss. The boss 1 shots their targets (even tanks) and should be kited and zerged. If adds are not CCed they kill players too. Did it easily with 25-30 people with a mix of level 92-100. Graveyard is right nearby for a quick run back.

This guy becomes super-easy with 15-20-ish people even in starter 600 gear if you pick up some deathknights. The more you invite the better. The wolf easily 2-bites a tank so let your DKs rotate their 亡者大军 to buy enough time to kill him without the usual ping-pong and die-runback tactic.

Use it before gets hotfixed.

Camped this mob for a little over three hours last night before servers went down. Respawn timer seems to be an average of 20 minutes with the high end being 30 minutes and the low end at 15 minutes going by the sample size that I have so far. As I write this, there are multiple pins up for his spawn on WoWHead, however I have only seen him spawn around the pin at 15.8, 41.0 so far, with other wolves labeled as Garn Nighthowl.

He seems to be kill-able with a group of 15-35 people, depending on how many level 100s the group has. If the group is full of 90s, I would suggest filling it completely. On the other side, I imagine that even with all fresh 100s, you'd only need about 10 people. Generally speaking, a group of 25 players seems to be the sweet spot in my experience. In my groups I have favored DPS over tank or healers, as he does one-shot nearly anything he hits, regardless of spec.

Currently, you must be grouped with the person that has the tap to be eligible for loot.

As for combat with this mob, I've had the most success by killing the Garn Nighthowl mobs that are walking around in the area that the group will be fighting in, first. These mobs also nearly one-shot any player they hit, so you will need to kite them. Unlike the boss, they can be slowed or stunned, however. If you pull any of the wolves that are sleeping with him, he will aggro as well, so in the groups that I have lead, I have had members us any CCs they have on them before pulling him. Any CCs that happen to break for any reason will cause these mobs to aggro once Nok-Karosh has been pulled. If this happens, your group will have to re-CC, or kill the adds before finishing the boss. Once again, he does one-shot, or nearly one-shot anyone he hits, so once you have the mobs CCed, you will have to kite him, or taunt him back and forth. The taunts from 亡者大军 and the Call to Arms Garrison ability do currently work on him.

Raid leaders, please be fair about loot. Group loot with everyone rolling need is the most fair system when it comes to mobs like this.
Once you've killed the boss, as you probably know, he will drop 夜嚎铁颚狼. As stated this mount is BoE currently. The WoWHead tooltip is displaying incorrectly at this time. The mount will drop every time and the player is eligible for loot regardless of how many times they have killed it in the past.

--Update--
The small wolves around Nok can be tamed and immediately released. They do not spawn until he spawns again.

-Personal feelings here. You'll find no more information about this mob or the mount in this post beyond this point-

Due to how fast he respawns and how easily he is killed, I feel as though this mount should not be BoE. Before I had started farming him on my server, there were no mounts on the auction house. Now, in my short time of farming him for my own mount, and one for my friends, there are multiples up. These mounts will start swamping the auction house as more people farm this mob and the group size required becomes smaller. This may very well be self-maintained by the server, however. Regardless, players please be respectful to others who may really want to learn this mount. If you're trying for a kill just to sell the mount, it would be greatly appreciated if you at least wait until a little later on to start camping to sell.
In case anyone's wondering, I have not obtained my own mount yet, but two friends have. We will continue to camp with each other until everyone's gotten their own mount. --We have gotten our mounts. Finishing off farming him right now for the rest of the group campers. :>

After around 2 hours of farming, 12 Ninja loots, 5 almost wins, and 1 time where someone else and I both rolled 97, yet I lost. I later ended up winning this beauty back to back.

After 6 groups of the mount being ninja looted with a last second ninja looter I couldn't believe it when Garm Nighthowl was put in my bags in a large group.

If you are wanting to get the mount I recommend finding a group on the group finder and getting summoned over. Kill the boss and hope for the best. If it doesn't drop then when you get back to your realm see if he is up. Just formm a new group and do it again. If it still doesn't drop then look on the group finder again.

During peak server times, you will be very lucky to find an honest raid leader. Make sure the raid leader explicitly says it's group loot, and make sure that should they ninja, you report. It's a bannable offense, and at the very least the ninja WILL lose their mount. Don't be that guy.

As for the actual fight, this boss is untankable as he hits for around 500k, which also makes healers somewhat obsolete. Our strategy - developed after 7 hours of reserve kills - was to CC all the wolf adds at his feet before the pull. Once Nok was pulled, a team of two hunters went in behind and tamed and abandoned all of the adds (after making sure they had empty pet slots so they could tame,) which caused them to despawn. This was much easier than keeping the CC up (which people would inevitably break,) for these adds that hit at 100k.

After that, it's a simple kite fight. Hunters are quite useful in this by using a combination of Misdirection, Distracting Shot, Deterrence, and Feign Death to keep Nok from hitting anyone, so our team of 13 always had at least 6 hunters.

And if you die, RUN BACK!

After spending about two days farming this guy for the mount I've noticed a few things to note.

诺卡罗什

Will one shot anyone
Has 10 minute - 25 minute respawn rate
Has 100% drop rate for 夜嚎铁颚狼 (Must be rolled for)
Will NOT spawn if mobs are killed near his spawn (We had another group trying to farm him and a aoe storm for the tag happened. We were there for about 45 minutes until we decided to back off. After about a minute 诺卡罗什 and all his adds spawned)
When farming him have your group around the rock near his spawn to prevent this issue from happening
Bring some DKs for 亡者大军 as the ghoul taunt DOES taunt the boss. (Hunter pet taunt also works)

NOK-KAROSH is not, i repeat NOT 100% drop for "everyone" that takes part in the kill - 3:49 am 11/17/14, killed along side a horde group killing it, it never coned green for me durring the kill, nor did it offer up any loot - so it either one of two things. The raid group ONLY gets the drop, OR it was because they were all horde...either case, this is NOT 100% drop for "everyone" period.

Just a heads up, He will NOT spawn if you're camping his spawn area. we waited 45 minutes for him to appear and nothing.... we all stepped back about 20 feet and he spawned.

Just got mine today,

The strategy we used was amazingly useful we had no tanks or heals for the first 2 kills, then we got a few tanks but we're on kill 5 now still no healers.

First off I'm a hunter

Have the group CC all the mobs except hte 4 in the back, then have a hunter tame and release them all. You can have multiple hunters doing this it doesnt really matter. I basically spent hte entire fight taming and releasing, then the one inbetween the two slopes would spawn mid fight. so I'd tame that. Typically I got to the boss after everything was tamed when he was about 30%.

If a cc breaks, make sure that everybody knows not to attack otherwise it will screw your group right up the ass. Instead have the hunter use glyph of solace, and burn the $%^& out of the add until he has aggro, disengage, Pop a trap stop attacking and then tame, release.

When the boss is not up (important, can be done without but it really helps) have the hunter tame everything in the area too. Super great way to do it. My group is so successful all the pople who have the mount stayed because we haven't wiped once in 5 kills.

I just got this mount like 30 mins ago.We used a raid of 20 players,3 tanks,few healers and rest dps..The mount is 100% drop but the problem is that you have to roll with the other players from the raid.You can farm it pretty easy if you can change the realm.

This was completely unintentional but I managed to kite this guy fairly well while in a group that was wiping on him and we ended up killing him. I actually was streaming at the time so I have video of it. It almost makes me wonder if it's possible to solo him by kiting. Check it out:

For those wondering about a nerf to the drop chance.

I have done a pretty thorough search and found nothing. I believe that this is just a false rumor used to lure in people for mount kills. Especially the groups that have ML and use the "list" loot method then disband after their friends get the mount.

There is no way Blizz would nerf the drop rate on of this boss but not the other mini-world bosses, especially when only 1 person gets this mount per kill.

Nok-Karosh 4 taunt strat. - No Deaths, no kiting, small group.

Frostfire Ridge
Two tanks on ledge at 15.81, 50.11 (Mark Red)
Two tanks on the ground at 15.58, 49.85 (Mark Blue)

After you cc the adds so that they are not pulled, have someone pull Nok up the ridge to where the tanks are. The puller wants to run to the tanks on the ground at blue. When Nok is about to blue, Red Tank 1 taunts and hits with a range spell, turning Nok around and forcing him to go around the ramp to run up it. It will take Nok about 8 seconds to reach red.

When nok is close, after about 5 seconds, Blue Tank 1 taunts and hits with range spells to get Nok to run back down. After about 5 seconds Red Tank 2 will taunt and hit with range spells. Again, after about 5 seconds Blue Tank 2 will taunt.

Rinse and repeat until Nok is dead.

I'd like to add an alternative idea to the "list" method used by the average group to determine who gets the mount.

How about keeping the list, but having open roll? For every kill you participate in and don't get the mount, you add 5 to your roll (even if it makes rolls higher than 100). That way, anyone can win at any time, but those who have stayed longer have a fair advantage.

As it is right now, people join, see their name at the bottom, get disheartened and leave.

Here is how to turn him into easy mode.
Req: least 2 death knights 4 hunters "with empty pet slots" and 2 more classes that can perform CC "polymorph, etc." and anything that can boost DPS, 11 people in total minimum or wiping is too easy.

1.CC 4 "adds" next to him and the 2 on the left a bit away.

2. Pull the boss and hunter proceed to tame the adds so they won't get in they way after the CC ends

3. Once DKs use "army of the dead" use DPS boosting abilities "time warp" and proceed to kill it

Frozenknight - Hellfire, 90 kills under the belt.

Invite a lot of death knights for 亡者大军 to tank boss. You can cc the smaller wolves with spells like 妖术, 致盲, 闷棍 and 恐惧 ect.

The coolest one I found out about was 精神控制. At first my plan was to just grab the wolf and run away as far as possible but once you get out like 40 yards it drops the spell. But while everyone is spazzing out running around dying all over the place i MC'd one of the wolves and right clicked on boss and started auto attacking with the wolf. It took aggro and the boss attacked it like 2-3 times before it died. So it gives your group some time to recover.

I don't know how many of you have tried when it comes to the new looting system to remove the amount of Ninja looters, but in the end most of the players in wow will just greed and steal the mount even if they had a chance to get it later on. When I did it with ML I had no problem, I am hearing most groups are failing due to ninjas now.

I've downed Nok-Karosh 76 times (yes it's sad that I have no life :'c) and I've learned that Nok spawns between 9-21 minutes and will most likely one shot you :P

My strategy to down Nok-Karosh: (Not sure if alliance have call to arms or not )

1. Get a hunter to tame and release all the Garn Nighthowls surrounding Nok except for the 1 at his rear and the one next to it.
2. Make sure everyone in the raid has Call to Arms up and that the 2 wolves that can't be tamed are cc'ed.
3. Ready Check, kick people that are afk so they can't win something they don't deserve :P
4. Pull Nok-Karosh away from the den and everyone to pop Call to Arms / lust straight away.
5. Burst
6. Is he dead yet? If not then continue to burst.
7. Oh so you're dead? :c Run back. "But I don't want to run back? :L" Too bad. Run.
8. He should be dead in less than a minute from pull if you have a group of around 12 level 100's
9. Good luck on the mount :D

Tips:
- Ask the leader if the loot is group loot : this is to prevent ninjaring and if they do ninja after saying it's group loot they can be banned and the mount WILL be removed.
- Around 15 level 100's in the group
- If you're farming Nok-Karosh you should really go do something else as you wait for him to spawn so you won't waste your time just sitting on the snow freezing your gluteus maximus

I had a really fantastic group tonight. We had minimal ninja-ing and got a really good strategy down. We had like 3-4 hunters so we would tame/abandon all the ones around him except for the two that pulled Nok. We would the CC those last two, someone would pull Nok, and then a couple of hunters would stay back and tame the last two CCed ones. Then those last hunters would join the fight.
We had to wait a little longer for him to spawn because we got rid of the mobs surrounding him, but it was well worth it. We only had a few people die each round.
Also having DKs to pop army with the taunt was really helpful.

Seems there are a lot of groups using hunters to tame and release. In our group, we found that having a priest MC and attack Nok then let the MC'd die and then feather away and spectral guise worked so much better.

Alittle food for thought for any other groups trying Nok out there.

Nok can be 2 or 3 manned with a team of hunters if you do it right, first you have to neutralize the wolves protection them i find the best way to do this is to let loose a concussive shot and tame them before they are on top of you.

have one member stand up on that stone spire just east of the wolves area another stand below, then have a third hit him and run for his live up to the others. distraction shot him to get his attention, have your friend distracting shot him before he can touch you. by doing this he will never actually get you just keep taunting him away from your friend before he can eat them and he will be continuously running around trying to figure out who to get.

For those thinking they want to kite kill this wolf here are a few things to note. As a Guardian druid with 126% movement speed and using Faerie Swarm that does 50% reduced movement speed Nok was still easily able to overtake me and 1 shot me. It was not saying immune to the slow from Faerie Swarm so I assume that worked but Nok is still faster than 126% speed at 50% reduction.

Ahem, I got Nok-Karosh from the Ping-Pong Method just a few days ago, I was quite proud to duo-solo this guy. Hey, at least its better than spending 20k gold to get this mount.

So I got around 15 people from different realms, Once we killed it we'd go to another realm for instant spawn, should work with 3 realms at least. Also master looter doesn't work, it will be rolled despite of Loot Spec.

Not many people seem to be talking about this, but Nok has a new ability called 疾跑. This means it is a lot harder to duo-kill him, and nearly impossible to solo him. This was added in patch 6.2 i believe, and since then, prices on ArgentDawn(eu) have increased heavilly.

He still only drops one mount but is harder to solo or duo due to the sprint ability. The roll is now auto greed with no other options it seems. Farmed him with a raid tonight. We just kept dropping raid, checking our servers and reforming once someone fount him. We found it easiest to CC or have hunters tame as many of the three adds in front of him each time. Having a DK with Army of the Dead didn't hurt either. It was set on group loot each time. None of tried Master Loot.

Just a fun fact, on my 697ilvl blood DK with Bone Shield active he hit me for 421,080.
Do not approach him with the "I'm a tank, I can solo just about anything, I'll just whittle his HP down slowly while self healing." >.>

Easy Guide:

Need
3 People (4 or 5 is also good) with different servers
2 Hunters (be mindful of your pets)
1-2 Dps (have a Taunt spell)

1. Have Hunter tame wolves near Boss
2. Hunter then pulls Nak up the right hill where a walk-up ledge is
3. other Hunter stands upon that ledge while pulling Hunter stands to the left of ledge at the bottom back a ways
4. Both Hunters will "ping-pong" taunt to make Boss run around like feral deranged ferret
5. DPS will use ranged spells to help with downing Boss.
Rinse and repeat!

Noteworthy - As stated above, have the DPS taunt in case one of the Hunters dies. YOU NEED TO COORDINATE WITH THE LAST HUNTER! If you have a Speed Boost spell use it once when have aggro on the Boss. This helps the dead Hunter revive himself and make their way back to their spot to continue the loop.

Once you're done, leave party/raid and each member check their server to see if the Boss is there. Then regroup. Repeat.

It is nice to make sure everyone has equal amount of mounts. So don't leave if you have 2 but everyone else has 1.

All in all I got 3 mounts, and probably downed him 9-11x with this method

Hey, you ! You want Nok-Karosh's mount ? You'd like to do it alone so you don't have to rand for it ? You're not a Hunter with half an hour to spend kiting on a mountain ? You don't have a DK that can actually tank it ?

No problem ! You only need a (high geared) Mage and 15 seconds !

First of all, preparation. You will need a N.U.K.U.L.A.R. Target Painter and the garrison buff Shamanstone: Buffeting Galefury
You will also need a fully upgraded Nithramus, the All-Seer, an Arcane Spec with Evanesce, Cold Snap, Rune of Power and Prismatic Crystal talented, around 85% Mastery buffed, and the two following macros :

Macro 1 (burst)

/cast Arcane Power
/use Draenic Intellect Potion
/cast Time Warp
/cast Berserk

Macro 2 (survival)

/cast Evanesce
/cast Cold Snap

On to execution :

Cast Rune of Power
Use Nithramus
Immediately after, place NUKULAR between the 2 small wolved immediately in front of Nok
When the NUKULAR is halfway through, cast Prismatic Crystal, use macro 1, and nuke your crystal
Pray for Buffeting Galefury proc, else it's almost impossible
Use Macro 2 just before Nok reaches you. The macro will instantly reset Evanesce cooldown, DO NOT SPAM THE MACRO
Use Macro 2 a second time when Evanesce has faded.
Loot.

The changes to the way mob tag credit is granted in 7.0 have impacted the mount drops from Nok-Karosh. The mount is now personal loot and is never rolled for, but it's only available to five people.

Now when a raid kills Nok, only the first five raid members to actually tag the wolf will see a mount drop. Everyone else in the raid will actually see Nok become grey, as it's someone else's tag. Those first five players though are guaranteed the mount when Nok dies.

This is sort of bad since the raid fights within itself to get on that short loot list, but I suppose Nok-Karosh is intended to be a 5 man group fight? If so I understand the limitation, but it's rough on people that join raid groups now to get a shot at the mount. It's nice that there are five mounts dropped per kill though.

Was something changed about him? I just killed him for the first time ever, a group was created using a pre-made groups finder. The wolf was gray-named entire time for me, no loot. Only 4 people out of 10 in the party got the mount. What's the deal here?

Solo this wolf now as a level 110 Protection Warrior (ilvl 800).

The wolf still hits quite hard and quite fast.
As a Prot War, keep Ignore Pain up at all times and shieldblock. Be sure to keep the Garn Nighthowl's on a low HP. As you kill one of them, your Victory Rush will be active. I needed a minimum of 3 Victory Rushes activatuon in order under solo him.

The mount sells for around 4000g on my server. The mount keeps on dropping, even if you have collected it already.

NOTE: I believe that this price will go done as soon as more people will farm this mount to just sell it on the AH.

Respawn time: +/- 30min

Now drops the mount for each party member, not restricted to one person. Just tested with a friend, both got one. Soloed as an 846 ret pally as well. Sold two for 8k each, crazy gold mine until people realize how simple it is to get.

1 week after legion launch, my hubby and i killed Nok-Karosh, he is blood dk, and im resto drood. it was easy. we were in party (not raid group) and (with personal loot) we both got the mount on the first kill. So it doesent look like the drop chance has changed to worse, either.

Soloed it as a dh tank today at 110 and ilvl 849 fight was quite easy. Mount dropped as normal.

I just killed it as a ilvl 800 Protection Paladin (solo), not without some difficulties. Done in 3 steps:

1. Killed a few wolfs around it and set up a pull back path (this is so that its ability "Call the pack" doesn't attract any wolf).
2. Pulled it and killed its adds (two wolfs). This is the hardest part, a good cooldown and heal management is necessary. I managed to kill the adds but died shortly afterwards.
3. Pulled it again (it didn't get any new add after I've killed the original ones), and moved backwards (see 1.). Nothing special here but keep an eye to your surrounding, move away if a wolf is getting too close. "Call of the pack" also increases its attack speed, use your cooldowns during it.

It respawns fairly quickly (15~30mn from my observations) and the mount can be traded / sold.

My brother who’s a 110 Ret pally with over a million health tried to solo her(and all her adds) for mount but died after 3-4 hits. Just adding my little story.

Came back from a 7 year hiatus and being an alliance hunter going for an all wolf theme (mount, pet, armour..) was really ecstatic when I got this last night. Been watching vids and reading up tips on how to solo him (ledge tactic) and still see if it was still viable. My brother went with me as he also wanted the mount, but there was already a group of 5 already camping him. Messaged one of them to ask if we could have a go at him after they’ve had their turn, we just wanted the mount real bad, and they said ok. Nok spawns a few mins later and they nuke the hell out of her(I assume) and the adds, she went down in less than 10secs. Their group makeup was 3 110 (Prot warrior, Brewmaster monk and a rogue, not sure which spec) a 104 fury warrior I believe and a 100 DK. I even saw a N.U.K.U.L.A.R. Launch at 1 point. Our turn came up next, and they said they will help (yay! They were indeed farming it). I pull Nok, lagged(of all times), got 1 shotted, ran back and she was already dead and Me and my brother got the mount, happy days!

I don’t know what else changed, but I definitely pulled him first, they let me, but the other group said all of them got the loot too on that turn. So basically, 2 groups, every member of which got mount. Was it because even though I tagged first, they still did the most damage to it that they got it? Anyway, after much gratitude, I left after that (I did tell them we were just there to get the mount and not farm, and didn’t really think a 100 hunter in greens can do much to help anyway, not that they needed it ;p), riding my nighthowl! :D This was on Dragonblight early this morning at about 645am server time. The 5 were from different realms, so if you’re reading this, you know who you are, a very very big thank you to all of you! Certainly made my day :D Hope there’s info there that can help peeps who still want the mount or just plain want to farm her!

nothing special with a 110 blood dk in dps gear. pulled him with 4 adds, didnt even scratch me.

Solo'd him in just 15 or so seconds. Easy to kill just his adds suck. Feign death was my BFF and as was Disengage.
858 ilvl. Tank pet. However, the adds do not like to listen to the tank. -sigh-

Hello. This is Matsen, your fam. Be careful about soloing this guy. Unless you are like at least ilvl 840 or higher, he could kill you at 110. i tried soloing him once at 110. I was like 800 something back then. i died and had to group up with somebody. im now 888, but i dont have time to go test a solo fight.

I soloed him with no issue as an 888 BM Hunter using a turtle tank. Did not even need to CC or kill wolves around him. No real skill or strategy required. Yay wolves!

All the comments here made me wary. However, due to level difference, you can easily solo this at lvl 110, most attacks will miss (naturally). I was receiving hits in the range of 3-12k from all sources during the fight. (although they rarely hit at all) as a Demon Hunter

got 2 kills in a 30 minute(approx.) wait inbetween kills. Got my mount, then waited for respawn so a quester nearby could get it as well.

As of Aug 2018, it's still a faction tag at spawn. Still a pretty short timer.

The easiest way to get there is to go to stormshield and then take the flight path to "Throne of element in north central Nagrand 72.53, 26.11 This will get you very close. From there he's just NW across the water.
