Has this been up on live yet? I have been playing every day and haven't seen it. Wondering if it could be one of those things where you have to kill similar mobs to force it to spawn? This is the only rare on the achievement list I haven't seen yet.

Spawns now starting today, Friday. When you pull, keep it facing the wall because it does a furious charge, which can make it reset. maybe this can be fixed. boss keeps resetting.

Like any boss that charges, you can find yourself on a frustrating tether and reset loop. This is especially true if multiple pet classes are engaged who won't give thought to what direction their pet is engaging him from.

NO idea what the spawn mechanism behinf this one is. Been campin the area for three days now and did not spawn. Anyone got a hint? Also see no groups containing this rare.

Spawning today March 4th on Bloodscalp-US around 11:10 AST when I logged in. Definitely has set days he spawns, been trying to find him forever!

This adds more evidence that this rare is only up on Fridays.

Despite spawning on Fridays for NA realms (going by other comments) this rare seems to only appear on Oceanic realms on Saturday. I camped the area all Friday (Melbourne time) and didn't see it once, but have now seen it twice today (12/03).

There was roughly 30-40 mins between spawns.

Edit: He spawned at 1pm on Sunday too. He may be up Sat & Sun for Oceanic as opposed to Fri & Sat for NA.

Chitali just spawned right around 11:35pm EST on an NA realm. My rare tracking addon had not seen the rare for 7 days, so I’m just echoing what others have said. Seems to be a Friday thing. I haven’t been on all day, so that was my first actual sighting as I was not hunting him when he was last spawning a week ago.

Blizz really likes to p1ss off people.
Put a rare on a seemingly long respawn timer, plus the fact that it seemingly has the same respawn rules as Hadeon (won't spawn at all on some days), and then you make the rare have such a short 'reset-leash' with a very long 'charge', that only the smarter pet class people (warlocks and hunters, mainly), will turn off their pet's taunt, specially if there are/come proper tanks into the fray, and specially those who know how to tank it (facing it towards a 'wall') to prevent the reset.

And this b4st3rd seems to have a very short CD on that long Charge.

With Dragonflight now the current expansion, I was happily able to tame this creature. A few tips:

Make sure your hunter has unlocked Zereth Mortis and is at least level 61.
The rare does not spawn every day, so check front page of Wowhead under the SL tab to see if it's available.
Try waiting for Chitali to spawn when there is less chance of competition, such as late at night or before most people would arrive home from work.
Goes without saying, but I'll mention it anyway -- camp at the spawn point. Chitali is one of the ZM rares who'll light up on the zone map.
Don't summon Pocopoc! The lil' annoyance will interrupt your taming and is non-interactible while it's in combat, so dismiss it first.
Chitali will almost immediately start off with his charge ability, so after getting his attention move out of the way first and then attempt to tame.
