The Oz event and the Romulo and Julianne event will start promptly after Barnes finishes his speech. Have your tanks and jobs assigned before talking to him for those events. Big Bad Wolf will *not* start when Barnes finishes speaking--it will start when you speak to the grandmother in disguise. You can take your time to explain the fight and show your guild's tank position and run path.

what my guild does is have one person volenteer to talk to the guy, and have everyone else go a safe distance (usually the entrance to the opera hall). the person that stayed will talk to the guy and start the event and die on the front area of the stage. that way you now know who you are fighting and can rez the person that died. we also make bets as to who it will be, biggest bet we have seen was 120g. i lost alot of money that night

the different bosses have different diffivultys. dpending on the raid the romulo and julianne is hardest and most gear dependant. the Wizard of oz is the less gear dependant, and the most skill based.
the wolf is most fun, since there will alvays be some dead meele after the fight, to laugh at. :P

Does anyone know for sure how the game chooses which opera event you get? My guild is getting kinda tired of doing Romeo and Juliette over and over again

I've been quite a few times in there and for the first 3 or 4 it was Romulo and Julianne, then the next time I went it was Big Bad Wolf so from what I can tell its totally random.

Oh and do NOT shoot the audience, one of our bright huntards did and they came and beat the snot out of us right as Julianne spawned.

When fighting in the Opera Event, you might want to be wary of having your healers/long range dps standing too close to the edge of the stage (right up next to the railings). There have been instances where the front row of the audience of spectral patrons come storming the stage, effectively wiping the raid.

There are several theories about how these can occur:

It might be possible for someone with a long-range attack/spell to accidently target one of the spectral patrons while tabbing to acquire their next target, if they're not paying too close attention to who they are firing at.

Another theory is that if a shaman plants a totem with a wide area of effect (such as searing totem) right next to the railing, it can aggro the audience.

Also, there is a theory that healers, if they are standing too close to the edge of the stage, can gain healing aggro from the audience. In one of the Opera wipes I personally experienced, the first player to be targetted by the spectral patrons and killed was the druid healing our main tank.

HOWTO - Romeo & Juliett.

Smash down Juliett to 10%, keep the tank and a mage or a rogue on him that doesnt attack. And then evrybody else on Romeo and then when there both at 10%, 5 stay on romeo and 5 go to Juliett, so you have to smash them down at the same time. otherwise they will ress eachother.

I've never actually had to fight R&J yet. Every time I've run this i always get Oz, except for once, i got BBW!

Hunter or a Rogue can see what the event is without starting it.
Red Riding hood wont start Rigth away. have donet his only one time and never got to be the red riding hood :(

As a level 80 Protection Paladin I was unable to solo Romeo and Julie(duo'd with a resto shaman though) and Big Bad Wolf.

However, at the third reset I got to try Crone, and I downed it on the first try.

The worst part is getting the girl down before the adds' abilities will get you down. I had to use every single cooldown I had, including a healing potion and Lay on Hands.

Once she is down it's actually pretty easy. Her damage is rather fast, -and- it's magic, so you can't avoid it. I recommend killing Roar first(he was at 50% when I killed her), as he'll fear you a lot. Once Roar is down, Tito should have died from the AoE, and Tinhead has got 8 stacks of the slowing(80% less movement speed). It's up to you wether you want to kite Strawman around to avoid Tinhead, but it's certainly not needed. They don't hit very hard.

Crone herself is a joke. Just kite her around to avoid the tornado. I used Seal of Corruption and Judgement of Light and didn't have to use any cooldowns for this phase, nor heal at any time.

Good luck to anyone who wish to try this, phase 1 is very intense.

If you manage to get this far without having killed Moroes, you get the following message when you try to talk to Barnes:

"About time the guild sent some new blood our way! Too bad you came all this way for nothing. We're not allowed to put on a show for our guests, can you believe it? Moroes has forbidden us from starting a new show, and my backers are going nuts! Something needs to be done about Moroes."

Solo'd Wizard of Oz as an 80 Blood DK

Used Tank gear/frost presence but DPs spec.

Didn't have much of a kill order, because I didn't remember the fight that well. But managed quite well. A lot of incoming damage at the start, use any cool downs you can and keep death striking as much as possible.

All in all it was quite easy.

The first 2 tries I used tank gear/dps spec but died by Romulo's posion

But since both of them have only 100k+ hp during the 3rd attempet I put on my dps gears and used every single cd including the army. Was very lucky when Julie was down, Romulo still had half hp and she didnt revive

Solod the Wizard of Oz as a PvP specced Affliction Warlock in PvE gear. (minus PvP trinket and corroded skeleton key)

The fight isn't that bad actually if you can get Dorothy down. I went full out on Dorothy until roar activated, then just feared him. Back to Dorothy. When Strawman started up I had my voidwalker pick him up and stayed on Dorothy. Once Tinman and Toto came out at about the same time, void grabbed tinman, Toto just hit me.

I was getting a little close, but once Dorothy died I gained control of the fight quite easily. Corruption+Haunt+DL on Toto for heals, HF pet while keeping roar feared. Once Toto was dead I just wore down strawman and Tinman, the nhad the void pick up Roar and killed him as well. Crone was a cakewalk.

Soloed RRH as DK in dps gear with a solo spec 4800gs. Died once, when he turns you into RRH just run along the walls he will not be able to hit you, even easier now that DS dont need diseases to heal you.

Hello all you soloers, Vriesus the feral druid here, back to soloing with 4.0.1 having arrived. I'd just like to poke in and, without meaning to vaunt myself too much, I have finally completed the entirety of Karazhan as feral (previously, the only unkilled boss was RnJ, no other exceptions). Just letting you all know it's possible... Gear average 260ish.

Oz should be no problem, get some extra burst in cat while Dorothy's the only one up, swap to bear if too many of them are up and the CC is getting to you. Oh, and fiery weapon totally affects scarecrow, but you shouldn't need it.

Big Bad Wolf... I think I already wrote something on this, but the general idea is to run in a wide circle. I have not killed him since 3.3.5ish, but the strategy remains - hit him while you're not in Red Ridding form, run in a very wide circle when you get shapeshifted. Certain attributes, such as the passive bear damage reduction, potions, and cat dash are still useable while in Red Ridding form.

Romulo and Julianne: Finally freaking killed them! HA! Take THAT! Anyways, keep a focus on Julianne. Even if you're bad like me and don't have a /tar focus macro, you can still use focus to see the cast coming and switch appropriately. I personally did this fight in mostly cat form, utilizing lifebloom and insta-HT to keep me up, while bleeding the duo. If you must, use bear form. Oh, you will have to dispel poison - if they get around the 5-6 stack mark, you will not be able to heal yourself and dispel them fast enough, and you'll likely die. 1-2 is no big deal, but once they hit that critical mass, you're toast. If you're a pally, I may recommend you either do this as ret, or be a blood elf, since the heals may appear more often that your Avenger's Shield cooldown.

That's it! The rest of Kara has all been done by ferals, DK's, and pallies, it's totally possible! Good luck on doing it yourself.

lv 85 hunter, had quite a bit of difficulty with solo'ing R&J, until i figured out a nice technique: blast romulo down as far as you can without killing him, then quickly switch to jullietta. once you have her down, switch back and kick the last bit of life from romulo. hope this helps!

After you complete the Opera Event, it will be possible to use the side entrance to Kara, but you must open a door on the inside. Very soon after you start down the Broken Stair, the door will be on your left.

Using a turtle as the "Go-To" tenacity pet, I find it easy to solo (duo really) all of the old content as an appropriately-spec'ed Marksmanship Hunter.

I advise the use of Glyph of Mending and Glyph of Misdirection as two critical Major Glyphs, the other choices are yours to make.

As has been previously mentioned, the Opera Event is indeed a pushover.

Romulo and Julianne:
Misdirect your (tenacity) pet and kill Julianne, then Misdirect your pet and kill Romulo, and finally Misdirect your pet one more time, kill Shakespeare's duet (at the same time) and win!

Even though Barnes is <The Stage Manager>, the way he talked reminded me more of a circus ringmaster, so I did some research of the name Barnes in connection to circuses.

About a century ago, Al G. Barnes owned a large (growing to 5 rings) animal act based circus, the Al G. Barnes Circus. He apparently had an amazing way with animals and was quite a showman, but he had a lot of trouble with wives and girlfriends and ex-wives and neighbors and lawsuits and such. In 1929 he sold the circus to a corporation that already owned four other circuses. The corporation was bought later in the year by John Ringling, who was the last surviving Ringling brother and the owner of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Al G. Barnes Circus continued to tour as a separate circus for several more years. The Great Depression hurt attendance, though, so the other circuses bought by Ringling were closed or merged into the Al G. Barnes Circus. After the 1938 season, it was shut down, too. It finished under the impressive name: Al G. Barnes and Sells-Floto Combined Circus Presenting Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Stupendous New Features. (RBBB had ended its own tour early that year, so some of its acts and equipment were used to augment the Al G. Barns Circus.)

Several other circuses have included "Barnes" in their name, but usually just as a marketing gimmick. The small Beers - Barnes Circus was actually created and run by people with those names, but most (e.g., Barnes Bros., Barnes & Bailey) weren't. One of them, the Carson & Barnes Circus is the largest American circus to still tour and set up and perform "under the Big Top." (RBBB switched to arena performances decades ago.) There were also a couple of circuses with "Al G. " in the name, apparently for similar reasons. (To be fair, Barnes's true surname was Stonehouse; Barnes was his mother's maiden name.)

The WoW developers might well have heard of Al G. Barnes, particularly since he established the winter quarters for his circus in southern California. One location had a zoo featuring the animals that the circus didn't take with them. Barnes even got the area incorporated as "Barnes City," with his brother as mayor, for a while.

In keeping with NPC Barnes ending his speeches with "On with the show," note the poem here. The train wreck mentioned in the poem occurred a year or so after the Al G. Barnes Circus was bought out.

TL;DR: Julianne shows up first, with no one else around. Kill her, Romulo shows up. Kill him, they both rez, and then you can kill both of them.

I never did Kara as a group - only ever been soloing it. I've only ever gotten Red Riding Hood before. A tale of Forbidden Love shows up, and all I can remember is that you're supposed to kill both Rom and Jul within something like 10sec of each other. Well, that shouldn't be hard at L95. Except that all I have on stage is Julianne. Come here looking, no info I can find, and hey, wait, she's actually hurting me. So I killed her, figuring I have to come back next week anyway, and Romulo shows up. Kill him as fast as I can, and suddenly they're both up. Down them both and nothing happens, for about 30 seconds, and suddenly the door swings open.

Got 试炼火焰长裤 and 绝望. Not bad for a fury warrior.
