无声者 can spawn in multiple parts of Coral Forest area.
Rare spawns on top of the coral reefs, to get it you can use
a couple of methods, easiest is to consume 深海珊瑚荚
which grows in the area and increases your jump height.
In most cases you'll also need a glider.
Has a chance to drop 喑声翔渊者 mount.

The 3d model that can be viewed is not the model that is in game. He is more of a blue color with grayish spikes, rather than black with red spikes

The rares who drop these mounts only yield loot for you once per day. I have created a macro to track whether they have been killed by you during this reset:

You can easily reach the rare using the toy X-52火箭头盔 + 地精滑翔器工具包 .. But don't fail, the toy has 5hrs CD.

Quick warning: Do not try to be nice and bring the rare to the ground for the people who can't figure out how to get up to the spawn. He WILL evade. While it is very nice to try, you will just lose your tag and, possibly, your loot as many will pull once reaching him.

Also, I was able to maneuver my way up with the Gnomish Gravity Well and my glider cloak as an engineer. When my glider was down, I used my slowfall and blink to slowly drift to the top of the coral, but this only worked part of the time. If you are unlucky, it will just fast blink you to the ground to start the Gnomish Gravity ascension over again.

Have killed him three times now in a 40 man raid and haven't seen it drop. Drop chance seems to be very low.

For hunters, climb up onto the roof of the horde place. At the top of the dome you'll want to turn around and disengage onto a ledge. You should then be able to turn right and climb up a small coral appendage. Once there youll be under a layer of the coral with soundless just above you. From there angle yourself where you can see a small ledge on the upper layer but is actually lower than youre current y axis. From there you can jump in the air and use a goblin glider by quickly turning right onto the ledge to reach soundless.

The item supplied for To Soar like a Ray, is super awesome for jumping to the top of the Coral Forest. Think you might even be able to jump to the surface of the ocean

Maybe...It is related to a very easy spawn condition like: 250 Rays killed on the server.
I mean who is even killing them. Everyone is just sitting there hoping for him to spawn and more information on wowhead. And maybe I just don't want to think that Blizz does an 2-8h Spawntime for a rare everybody is after.
Just imagine the accumultative timewaste.... It is frustrating. Years if not decades in form of waiting time will be spent into this rare. It is like a big F for the players.

.....some side information: I killed him now 4 times in a maxed out filled raid and nobody got the mount. I've been waiting from 0s (he was already spawned) to 6 hours straight. The shortest period I did on waiting was about +/- 2hours.

I think the spawn timer is an hour plus as I have seen him spawn after one hour from when he was killed so my guest is he has around a 1 to 8 hour spawn rate.

I wonder why they made it so different compared to the other rares. Make the respawn timer even longer and give it 100% drops, or make the timer shorter and keep the drop rate. Waiting up to 8 hours just to not get to it in time, or getting nothing is just not fair in my opinion. It looks like they somehow didn't think it through or they simply don't care.

Little information: Got the mount at 96 kills and I saw 7 mount drops in total.

There's a much easier route up, than the one shown in the video, to the western spawn point.

Start on the rock near the waterfall at

Jump to the middle of the top of the coral leaf
Turn right,
Jump/walk to the tip of the next part of the leaf, closest to Soundless's leaf
Use the Deepcoral Pod to jump further

While I obviously have no way to confirm this, I do believe they increased his spawn rate. Seen him only twice in the past week, while today, I have already seem him five times, which leads me to believe the spawn rate has been increased. Or I'm just incredibly lucky, who knows.

Since you can fly in this zone once you unlock flying, and the drop rate for the mount is apparently so small that in the 155 kills reported to wowhead so far, zero have had the mount drop... smartest thing for most players is probably to grind flying, then look for this guy. I am sure within a week or two, flying players will be nuking stuff like this anyway, before players who don;t have flying can get to it.

Yesterday i was in Fabious camping group, and some dude had luck, saw Soundless spawn near him. First time killing him, and he got the mount. So how rare is that drop actually :-D ?

So apparently Soundless can be tamed while in the middle of taking damage from an entire raid group. So, hunters, expect to never be invited to a group again.

For my farm experience (LFG farms), this mob will start spawning 2 hours or more after his death.

About the mount - rate drop very low, something between 0.2~0.5%, considering is personal loot you can see multiple drops.

So I wrote an encouraging comment the other day but someone on site deleted it. Not sure why as it was encouraging so I’ll say same thing again, don’t give up. Every mount I received in game took many kills and hard work. I received Silent Glider after join a small Alliance group while the Horde was nuking Soundless. I was surprised by drop as I had killed Soundless four times a day for over two weeks now. If your persistent you will eventually get the mount. Don’t give up keep trying and good luck to all.

I was able to loot him twice today on the same character.

Can someone confirm if you can loot him multiple times a day?

Edit : From the information I got by asking around, you can loot it multiple times a day, BUT since he is not considered a rare when it's not the first kill of the day (no silver dragon or star on the mini map), you can't drop the mount. (That's to confirm too)

I tamed him today and he then respawned 30minutes after the tame. Not sure if it was a fluke or maybe blizzard have put in a hunter fail safe. I also didn't attack him at all, went straight for the tame and no one else was there to hit him either. I announced it both times. No one came to the first which is why I tamed him.

Ja und nein xxxx. Rares und fast alle Gegner/Bosse in WoW arbeiten inzwischen mit persönlichem Loot, diese Beute wird erst erstellt, wenn du den Gegner anklickst und versuchst zu looten. Geht dann dabei etwas schief landet es in deiner Post.

Wenn du den Gegner aber nie anklickst und nie probierst ihn zu looten, dann wird auch vom System nicht erwürfelt ob du das Reittier überhaupt gewonnen hättest, daher wird dir nichts zugeschickt. Selbst wir GMs können dann nichts machen, da wir nicht sehen können ob du etwas gewonnen hättest und was, wenn der Gegner nicht angeklickt wurde.

You are eligible for loot, if you actually try to click and loot. Only then the system is generating your personal loot. So if you never try to loot, the system is not gonna roll for the mount and you will never get it.

Es gibt verschiedene Lootregeln für Bosse Welten Drops etc.
Wenn es sich z.B. um einen Weltendrop handelt den nur 1 Spieler getaggt hat wird dieser das Mount des Drops erhalten, wenn es ein 100% Drop ist wenn es sich um eine Drop Chance in einer Instanz / Raid handelt wird der wichtigste Loot in der Regel erst generiert wenn man den Boss anklickt.
Selbst das man sich aber auch je nach Instanz/Boss unterscheiden.

There are different rules for rare/world-drops etc.
example 1: If only one player tagged a rare/boss/etc and there is a 100% chance for this rare item, the player is going to receive this drop.
example 2: Loot in an instance or raid is only generated the moment you are trying to click and loot.
Even this example differs from intance/Boss to instance/Boss.

Asked for the third time, specifically, are you able to get this mount per mail without trying to loot. Awaiting an answer.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone, that just because no one reported and confirmed something that is incredibly rare on a specific website, it does not mean it's impossible. There are a total of 17 soundless drops reported on wowhead, that's not enough data to make definitive statements. Also, GMs have confirmed that the mount should be delivered properly through mail. Sure, they might be wrong, but they also might not.

Gossip spreads quickly, and now there are people in soundless groups stating as fact, that you can't multi tag for loot. This is at best a hypothesis, that is in no way confirmed at all. If you want to be safe, sure, don't use multiple characters, but don't claim this statement to be 100% truth.

Many of us have so many of those alts, that it doesn't really hurt to multi-log because we wouldn't have time to make separate kills on every single character anyway. Myself I am camping Soundless while playing other games, I can usually do about 2-4 kills per day based on luck and time I have. If I can turns those 2-4 kills into 12 attempts, might as well just go ahead and do it. Doesn't cost me anything.

Hello hunters,

In response to skepticism about this mount dropping in the mailbox from tagging on multiple characters, I am a multiboxer with a lot of characters who also happens to work night shifts and had a lot of spare time, so I decided to try something out.

I managed to find Soundless alive on a dead server in the early hours of the morning 4 times (on seperate days), and each time I got him to lowish hp with a healer character in the group. I then logged 150 level 110+ characters, and each time invited the characters, tagged soundless, alt f4'd and logged the next characters. This resulted in just over 600 "kills" however I did have to kick the characters from the raid group most of the time.

I did not recieve the mount in the mailbox, however I did receive some green loot such as lootboxes and scrying stones. It should be noted that I don't have the mount already.

I am aware that I could have been unlucky and the mount may drop this way but it didn't, however there is a good chance that Silent Glider is "bugged" and can't drop via this method, and if people are hunting this mount it may be safer just to stay on one character for the kill. I hope this provided some useful information, and happy hunting!

I've prolly killed soundless about 40 times in total. Always heard the droprate was super terrible.

Got in a raid today but this time I used "symbol of Gral" from the nazj vendors.

Mount Dropped.

Is that why this weird toy is in game? Worth a shot as it only cost 75 manapearls I think.

More updates:

* Multi-tagging has been confirmed by multiple screenshots on certain Discord channels
* Class trials also worked (and presumably, still do) as of May 2020 - I personally witnessed two instances and there's screenshots, too
* The unluckiest people I've seen farming the mount required more than 2000 attempts to finally get it, so be prepared for a worst case scenario
* TL;DR: Use a community/Discord server that shares the kills, and prepare for a miserable few weeks... or months

If you're thinking of farming this mount, you should consider the following:

You cannot brute-force it, assuming the multi-tap "exploiting" people have described here doesn't work... which is what the available data suggests
In order to find it alive, you're forced to periodically check at unsightly times, refresh the group finder manually for hours, or passively camp for most of the day
There isn't just one, but SEVEN spawn points, so the likelihood of seeing it spawn is further reduced if you decide on camping
To add insult to injury, the drop rate is extremely low, and the spawn time extremely long... see other comments/wowhead data
Hunters can tame it from right under your nose, and this will absolutely happen every once in a while
Since it has incredibly low health, people will nuke it before you even get there, or without announcing it at all... and this will happen a lot more
Even if you play on a low-pop realm, there will be multiboxers/bots farming herbs 24/7 all over the Coral Forest, snatching many off-hour spawns

Unfortunately, there's some factors implying that if you ever want to have a realistic chance of getting this mount, you should obtain it now (during the expansions lifetime):

Right now, there's still a few groups in LFG for this rare, providing you with extra kills if you do want to check actively. Later there may be none
The zone isn't as heavily frequented, nor plagued with the full extent of CRZ, as it will be once it is officially legacy content, so you can get lucky during off-hours
Even if people start nuking it right away, which they will, you can still tag it. In future expansions it will be a proverbial oneshot, dramatically reducing your odds of success

So if you're a masochist, or - like me - you've decided to bite the bullet before it turns into even more of a "fun and engaging experience", what is the best way to go about it? Well, here's what I've found...

If you want as many attempts as possible and don't mind being ACTIVE:

Check in the early mornings, ideally on dead realms. You do have alts on those, purely for farming rare mounts, don't you? Oh well...
Search the LFG tool during the day, refresh periodically to see any groups that are listed for your faction and your current warmode setting

As you can see, that's a lot of effort. So perhaps you prefer something more PASSIVE:

Park an alt near the crossroads where the Carnivorous Lasher spawns. This covers 3/7 Soundless spawns, which is as good as it gets
Buy a second monitor if you don't already have one (a cheap/used one will do), or set up a laptop, then do something more productive while you wait

In case it isn't obvious, I am not at all a fan of this design. It appears that there really isn't a good way to go about it, so doing something else while passively accruing more attempts seems like the best bet to avoid burnout.

Update: At least on EU I strongly recommend joining a community/Discord that announces rares, which hopefully also exist in the other regions.

People in there will often wait quite a while to let many people join and also look out for groups, relieving you of the burden of checking the LFG tool all day long. It's a lot easier to find groups this way, hence I was able to get upwards of 10 kills a day instead of one or two when camping alone, while still doing something productive on my first monitor.

On my realm (Azjol-Nerub/Quel'Thalas EU) he spawns everyday around 6:00-6:30 am UTC +1. I always check if he's up before going to work. I usually list a group in custom, so if you're Ally on EU realms with wm off, check custom around this time ;)

It has indeed now been confirmed with proof, that multi-tagging works!

(Credit goes to the Lord of the Reins discord server for instructions and image proof):

1. Log a character
2. Join group
3: Attack once, make sure it doesn't miss
4. Leave group (super important)
5. Log out (Alt F4 is prob easiest)
And repeat that on as many alts as you can until it's dead.
When it's dead, loot the mailboxes of the characters that have participated and hope for the best.

If you're looking to camp this absolute beauty of a sheila, then two waypoints are all you need to cover all 7 spawn locations on the minimap:

/way 56.51 45.97
/way 61.6 53.64

Soundless will NOT spawn directly at either of these, rather, going between these two is the most efficient means of scouting all of its spawn points, on a fully zoomed-out minimap.

I'm calling BS on multi-tagging actually working for this mount. Here's why: the only picture so far that I've seen posted of the mount in the mail - if you look at the original, shows the raid chat log dialog which indicates to me that this person didn't actually tag and logout before the kill but was likely there for the kill (if they logged off and back, chat would have cleared). They were there for the kill, they just didn't loot the corpse before it despawned and waited for the mail....which is very different from just tagging and not actually being there for the kill. I think multitaggers are wasting their time.

I am not sure if any1 else noted it before but there are two discord groups which make the Soundless Farm a lot easier:

Both help a lot, by noticing you when there is a Soundless group in LFG. From my experience, the 1st one has more tags, but I am in both in case i cant find any grp from the 1st one.

The drop rate of this is way too low. I have recently joined 30 different 40 man groups to kill this and no one got the mount in those tries.

Edit: Lately there has been a lot of groups that people let everyone get to Soundless to tag him. After about 250 of these groups I finally got the mount! I have only seen it drop 2 times in all those groups.

Nice to see people trying to help everyone get a shot at the mount.

If a Soundless spawns in a kelp forest.. does it make a sound?

This is easily the smoothest ride in the game - it's just like driving a Prius!

No roar of an engine - or of the tiger you used to ride. It's perfect!

The opposite faction will never hear you coming. They'll never see you either, as the white belly of the mount perfectly camouflages you against the light sky, and if you fly it upside down at night the black back of the beast will still keep you hidden. The streamlined shape of the mount means even the most experienced Hunters can't track you on their minimap. This is a biological stealth bomber!

thought this was interesting I went googling world of Warcraft drop rate calculator and found one regarding another game. Realized that my thorn Soundless with a .5% is not about 200 kills, according to this calculator its closer to 500!
why downvote, math is math. please explain.

On the topic of mailed soundless mount

I recently came across a forum post (CHN) post, it proposed a theory for multi-tags, only the toons that are not removed from game (due to offline) are eligible to receive soundless mount via mail.

The OP tested this theory by multi-tag a mechagon rare - Malfunctioning Beastbot. On the first kill of the week it guarantees a drop "Azeroth Mini Pack: Bondo's Yard", a blue quality box. This box is only looted by the online toon, and recently and not removed by system the offline toons; those toons removed but tagged received only grey quality items.

This aligns with the proposed theory, also in line with recent observation that fewer reported receive this mount via mail (in comparison with actual loot from corpse), and this theory is also in line with observation that some multi tagged toon with wm on receives naz battle coins, while some does not.

This theory does not say soundless mount cannot be mailed, but the limitation is with the eligibility of receiving above grey/common quality loot after being removed by system for offline.

Trying to get this guy in SL is even more difficult than before. I'm in the discord group and the soundless announcements are few and far between. I've been camping for almost 6 hours today and nothing.

All this to say, if you do see him, PLEASE make a group, announce in general and do not burn him right away! Try to get as many people a chance at the mount as you can. I believe in mount karma!

Did some number crunching, collecting all kill data from the Lord of the Reins Discord (EU announcement section), where people post Soundless LFG groups, amount of people present, and how many mounts dropped. The data I gathered was after patch 9.1.5's seemingly upped drop rate. And now I have the numbers to confirm. Out of 1279 kills, 60 mounts dropped. Which converts to a 1 in 21.31 chance. Most likely 1 in 20, which is a 5% drop chance.

So there we have it. Since patch 9.1.5 hit the drop chance is buffed. Keep posting them Soundless groups in LFG! =D

In my experience, it feels like Silent Glider drop rate is increased in Shadowlands. I've done about 6-7 kills in 2 weeks and made a gp of 4-6 ppl everytime. Of those i saw one mount dropping 2 runs, and even 2 drop once. I suggest everyone give the grind a try now. Me ofc, is still mountless. Join a discord or two to make or join gps would help ppl too. Edit: Dropped to me after 5 hours of writing this! I'm officially done with this place!

Like others have said i also have the feeling the droprate has increased after BFA.
I have been making groups to kill soundless on a RP realm and have seen 1-3 mounts drop in pretty much every group of 10-15 people i have made.

Be careful with low pop realms. If no one is zoning in, the zone shuts down. Get the addon NPC time to see how long npcs, like guards, are up. If its less than 2 hours do not bother. Ran into this for TLPD as well. Mount dropping rares wont even start to spawn until a 2 hr up time. But if you leave the zone will shut down again, if no one zones in. I think it shuts down 15-30 mins unoccupied. I'm on my 9th attempt, and I don't even want to see the rarity counter go to 10. Massive time sink...why do I enjoy this crap lol

TLDR: if you want easy kills --> level 50+ character + war mode + chromie time + some max level players you can invite (or be a tank and ready for a long fight)

As someone who got their Silent Glider mount today (May 14 2024) I strongly, strongly recommend you do this on a level 50 character in Chromie Time with war mode enabled and join one of the mount discord servers (ie. Lord of the Reins and/or Secret Finding).

Chromie Time is an absolute blessing for this...horrid rare. Soundless has an approximate 2 to 8 hour spawn timer, multiple spawn locations, a relatively low drop rate, is still highly sought after for its rarity, and dies very quickly.

Chromie time (the special leveler phase) fixes some of these issues. By design, Nazjatar (Naz) is not meant for people to level in which makes it a ghost town in the chromie time. It also adjusts the scaling so Soundless will take a minute or two to kill with a few people.

However, war mode is an absolute must. For those not aware, Naz is one of many zones which effectively goes into sleep mode if no one is present for more than 15 minutes. Everything despawns until the next player wanders in. Soundless is treated as if he just died when the zone "wakes up", forcing you to wait a minimum of 2 hours to even see him. You can use the addon NPC Time to see this information.

Chromie time without war mode is subject to this rule and is treated as it's own bubble. 99% of the time you go to Naz without war mode and chromie time, you will be working with a fresh zone and Soundless will never be up. However, the war mode phase shares its inactivity checker with non chromie time. This means that regular max level players going to Naz in war mode for commendations will keep the chromie time phase active.

With this unique interaction between non chromie and chromie war modes, it creates the following environment:

1) Naz is devoid of players because you're in Chromie time.
2) Naz is almost always in an active state with war mode enabled because of its shared inactivity checker with the non war mode phase.

These two conditions almost always has Soundless up barring competition with other players aware of this chromie time trick.

Downside of all of this? Well Soundless isn't soloable as a DPS at level 50. You will need other players, ideally max levels who will destroy soundless for you. This is where joining one of the mount discords will help you find players.

So once you have your level 50-59** character set up in Naz with chromie time and war mode, you just simply do a lap checking all the spawn points a few times a day until you see Soundless up. When you see it, put a notice in the mount discords, create a custom group, and people will usually join. You can sync party members (not a raid group) who are level 50+ to chromie time by clicking on the button on the bottom right of the map window. Just make sure to sync when all players are in Naz as they may lose portal access if you sync before they arrive due to quest phasing.

With this method, you can say goodbye to sitting in Naz for 2-8 hours straight hoping someone doesn't do a drive by of Soundless when you're AFK for five seconds.

**The level cap for chromie will likely be in increased in future expansions. In DF it was 60.

got the mount in 44 tries split between the end of Dragonflight and The War Within

the drop rate is definitely higher than back then in BfA and i can also confirm those few comments saying that the respawn is 2-4hrs now

if you wait for more than that, you probably missed it!

i suggest to check both war mode on and war mode off... if you have multiple characters, you can park one in nazjatar for each mode

i would also add that the best place to wait is between the 2 corals on the left side of the map... so that you can cover 5 out of 7 spawn points with the scanner. make some flights every now and then toward the bottom 2 corals cause the scanner CANT reach those!

Just going to rant here because I am so f*cking sick of this b*llsh*t timer reset crap. I was switching between a WM and non-WM alt because the zone had been up for an hour. I was switching every 15mins to ensure the zones stayed fresh and after nearly three hours of waiting, I found Soundless on my WM alt, but for some reason the zone reset on my non-WM alt, even though I was under the f*cking 15min timer I was using. I lost three hours of waiting and still didn't get the mount.

Blizz can go to hell.
