I didn't get the mount from killing this npc, but I did get the Darkshore Sentinel battle pet.

Athil Newfire can be located at 40.65, 73.33 in the Darkshore Battlefront. This NPC has the chance to drop the Umber Nightsaber mount. (This is the NPC for the Horde to kill. The Alliance Version is Moxo the Beheader, located at 62,42 - on the path up to Shatterspear Vale.

There are 5 mounts in the Darkshore warfront area that drop from rares.

Blackpaw drops from Blackpaw when the Horde controls the zone and Agathe Wyrmwood when the Alliance is in control of the zone.

Kaldorei Nightsaber drops from Shadowclaw when the Horde controls the zone and Croz Bloodrage when the Alliance is in control of the zone.

Captured Umber Nightsaber drops from Athil Dewfire when the Horde controls the zone and Moxo the Beheader when the Alliance controls the zone.

Ashenvale Chimera drops from Alashanir regardless who controls the zone.

Frightened Kodo drops from Frightened Kodo regardless who controls the zone.

So my first kill I didn't loot a mount or pet, respawn isn't very long but 6 following kills didn't yield any loot. Could be a daily or weekly loot. Repeat kills do count for the 0/12 rare kills quest.

She can drop pet AND mount on same kill. Felt pretty lucky when that happened! The Darkshore Sentinel is adorable, and the Umber Nightsaber is a cool-looking mount, rare look for a horde mount.

As Horde, I was unable to find Athil Dewfire while the Burninator Mark V was up, and it was friendly so it couldn't be killed. Either they swap places when it is Horde/Alliance controlled or it was moved to a different spot while the Burninator Mark V was active.

Today 12/29/18 I have camped his spawn for over 5 minutes and not seen him pop up. Zone is Horde controlled and have never had this issue in the past. Not sure if it's a bug or if it shares spawn with something else that is currently alive. Will report more if I can figure out what's up.

Why does she ride the tan nightsabre yet drop the dark brown one?

I've killed her 6 or 7 times and not once have I gotten a single drop of loot? Everyone else seems to be getting at least the pet within 2-3 kills but I haven't gotten a single thing. Does anyone know why this is?
