I noticed the buff given says "1 day" is that all this is good for, it buffs you for a day then its gone forever?

The following are buffs that apply to missions that fall within a specific circular zone on the naval map. These buffs are applied in the marked area on the map once a particular prerequisite naval mission is completed, thus "unlocking" the buff.
Note that a naval mission that unlocks an area buff may be on a completely different part of the map than the buff itself.
**The buff only applies to missions that are started AFTER the buff is unlocked! Missions already in progress in the buff zone do not receive the buff.**
A list follows of the various area buffs that can be obtained, as well as the missions to unlock them.
