This is the item they where talking about in the 5.1 Patch notes. Hitting Revered on one of your characters, using this item on any other will gain increased reputation. Very nice for those like myself with more than 1 character and don't particularly enjoy the grind of dailies.

Edit: Most likely to be sold by the Golden Lotus Quartermaster.

Once one character reaches revered with Golden Lotus, this item will be available from the Golden Lotus Quartermaster, and it will effect all characters on that account when used. This information is current as of 10-31-12.

I wonder whether your main character has also a reputation increase as it says this is for all characters on your account and when you hit revered you can still get exalted.

New Grand Commendation items in Mist of Pandaria:

Alliance.

Horde.

Neutral (Both Alliance and Horde).

These Faction items are available for patch 5.1 except the Sunreaver and Krin Tor ones that are available for patch 5.2, you must be Revered with each faction if you want to buy this item.

Will this mean for the battlenet account or just the account? Got two accounts linked to one. The achievements and pets are shared between the two. Hoping this will be as well.

this will be the single most important one of the badges to get
since the golden lotus unlock most of the other factions

i dont dislike doing daily's but this will make it a bit more interesting to get the other 90's to do the daily's aswell

金莲教大奖章 is sold by the 金莲教 Quartermaster, 宽仁的贾鲁, for 37g50 at revered, 35g at exalted with /// 42g50 at revered, 38g at exalted without . The Quartermaster is located in Vale of the Eternal Blossom, on the circular island in front of Mogu'shan Palace.

Grand Commendations becomes available for purchase at Revered reputation with a faction. The gain will affect that character's grind from Revered to Exalted as well as all future toons on that account (both factions, all realms, all battle.net accounts) for all rep levels, forever. The bonus stacks with both guild and human rep bonuses, doubling the amount of rep received after they are applied.

For example, a quest that gives a 250 base reputation gain (like this one) will give: 250 rep + 25 (guild) + 25 (human) = 300 rep * 2 (Grand Commendation) = 600 total rep

The item can be purchased and used more than once, but multiple uses will have no effect, so buyer beware. In order to see whether your account has a particular reputation bonus, open up the reputation tab of your character pane; reputations with the bonus will have a golden arrow on the right side of the reputation bar. Mousing over this golden arrow will reveal the text: "Bonus Reputation: Your account has unlocked bonus reputation gain with this faction." (updated for 5.2)

Appears to be a permanent bonus. I have gone 5 days and a weekly reset and still have this.

Works from as soon as you hit revered on ANY character and affects ALL characters. If you have multiple quests to hand in and hit revered while doing so, buy this BEFORE you hand in any more as subsequent quests will benefit from this.

For 50g base price, this is the biggest bargain in the game, especially as you will have rep discount applying by the time you can afford it. Hell, I'd be happy if it was 500g and didn't get discounted! I don't mind rep grinding, but I'm not gonna object if they make it easier after the first char, but not hand it to you on a silver platter. Also, kinda makes sense ... 'oh, you know such-and-such character? you must be all right ... but you still need to prove yourself to us a bit!'

Does "this account" refer to the Battle.net account, or is the rep bonus limited to each account within the larger Battle.net account?

Once one has purchased and used GCotGL or one of the other Reputation booster buffs and you visit the Quartermaster in the future, how do you know if you have already purchased it? I don't see anything that says "Already Known". Also, it doesn't seem to appear in the Spellbook or in your Rep stats. So far, I only know it if I do a daily and I see a bonus. Is there anyway to check when you are visiting a Quartermaster?

Does anyone know if the Grand Commendations apply to ALL characters on ALL servers or just the server the commendation was purchased on?

As we all know, Heirlooms are classed as 'Account Bound' yet can only be used on the server they were purchased. Is this the same?

(I play on two servers so if can avoid some of the grind that'd be awesome!) :)

silly question but toon 1 gets this uses it and toon 2 reaches revered can that toon buy this for toon 3 who then has has a 300% or 400% rep gain then for a another 100% for each Toon after that?

Sometime in Legion/BFA the gold arrow/icon showing your account had the commendation unlocked was removed. I am uncertain if this was intentional or an error, but I confirmed today (after much gold spent in vain) that my Exalted toon had indeed already purchased the Grand Commendation from the quartermaster for each of the Pandarian factions which sells the item. I removed all addons to confirm it wasn't a UI issue, but it is totally gone.

This commendation is still active (tested cross-faction on max and low-lv toons), it just doesn't show up for the player to see. Which is highly unfortunate given the tokens are re-purchasable and non-refundable. Re-purchasing and attempting to use the commendation causes a red error message to briefly flash in the center of the screen stating "Already commended by this faction". Players will thus need to keep manual track of these now in order to avoid losing gold.

I have left this same comment on the other Grand Commendation pages as well to help spread word of this situation.
