I feel like after such a huge accomplishment you should have some say in what your set will look like, or maybe some choices, because, personally, I think this set is pretty unattractive. I mean, the boots are amazing, but other than that...eh, it's just so chunky and...bleh.

The MoP (Hunter) Challenge Mode transmog set is going to be no longer available with the release of the Warlords of Draenor pre-launch event patch, or slightly before then.

The reasoning for removal of the sets is summarized by Bashiok from the forums:

The short of it is, Challenge Mode is based on it being a challenge with current mechanics and, lots of mechanics will be changing in the pre-expansion patch.

Remember this is awarded upon your last gold in a challenge mode. It goes directly into your bags.. I found this out a few days later when cleaning my bags out, after spending the 1000g to purchase it from challenger wuli.

Unlike the phoenix egg (which is awarded after completion of CM silver 9/9) 咆哮野兽的金色宝箱 is automatically given to you as soon as you complete 挑战征服者：黄金 in this chest, once clicked, you will receive ALL Howling Beast pieces to make up the Gold Mode hunter set. If your bags are full the postmaster will deliver it to you in a separate mail to the congratulatory mail sent by the Challengers' Armory (you get a 'yay' you did it mail for completing CM gold 9/9.) If your bags are not full and 100% it's not there log out and in and it'll be waiting for you in your bags.

I honestly feel like the only hunter who loves the sets of this expansion. Please believe me when I say the photos don't do it justice. As someone who initially saw photos and thought, yuck, trust me when I say wearing it in game is a whole different experience.

This hunter set is lovely. It's very earthy in colors but extremely detailed, as detailed as you're going to get right now. The base is green and brown leather which is stitched into a rich brown fur and accented with buckles, scales, leather straps and bands of studded metal. Wolves are the theme and wolf like decals with glowing red eyes are found on the gloves, boots and on the chest and then there is the shoulder. A giant mounted wolf head featuring soft fur with huge gleaming teeth breathing gold fire is tied with thick leather straps to one shoulder. The style of the helm, I feel, gives a nod to the retired cryptstalker helm and luckily for us the belt is not as... errr... giant-ugly-crouch-monster as other sets (which is a relief) and on the back you see the chest is a corset which is laced up in leather which is a great detail. Overall It's stunning and very fitting for us hunters. As for me it took me a long time to choose what hunter to get this on and I ended up with my undead, why? because the set looks fantastic with bones thrown into the mix (see my SS.) If like me you're choosing between two or more hunters to run this with I recommend using the 'view in 3D button' on this page Howling Beast Set and selecting your race/gender to see how it looks, even if your toon looks different the shape is the same and it'll give you a more clearer idea how it looks on each race/gender. And for those worgens out there worrying about the clash of dead wolf vs you don't be because this looks so badass on a worgen, especially a worgen male because the shoulders are so massive!

If you are unaware all CM gold transmog sets have a special aesthetic feature which 'procs' in combat &/or when using a certain emote (thinking of locks and /roar here.) With regards to the hunter when ever you take aim you helm procs a sniper laser effect and your shoulders ignite into golden fire, it's sexy. For weapons and cloaks there are a few options out there to complete this transmog set. I personally don't like using a cloak but I do know hunters who find : 蠢蛋披巾耐用斗篷混乱斗篷 and even 忿欲，雪怒之怒 to work with this set. As for weapons there are quite a few which match! I love this with 飞矢之歌赫米特的纪念猎枪 & 巫毒魔咒步枪 but I have spied the next few weapons on other hunters with this set and it looks good with 阿曼尼骨弩雷象角弩海妖的悲鸣巨大的折叠式冲击弓战利品收集者 & 专家长弓. So plenty of options out there for us to play with!

Edit: just looted 暗喉之弩 and it matches this set very well, so that's a crossbow option to add to the list.

TL;DR don't knock this set till you're wearing it.
