Ragnaros probably had to craft a new weapon after adventurers stole (or broke down) 萨弗拉斯，炎魔拉格纳罗斯之手.

*edit* If the crafted Sulfuras from MC was a replica because the actual Sulfuras is too large, then what is this weapon? A replica Ragnaros in Firelands has in his pockets by chance?
While the issue of size exists, I'd say the ingame method of obtaining the old Sulfuras (infusing a replica with the eye) is ingame only, lore-wise, it would be a reforged Sulfuras, made smaller, or forged from a shattered fragment. We also have to consider that Ragnaros, at least his avatar in Molten Core, and thus Sulfuras are not actually as large as in the game. Raid/city bosses, and other important NPCs are larger in the game than they should be.
To sum it: it was just a funny line that came to my mind, like it or don't :)

On an interesting sidenote for fury warriors, it is not unique (yet)

Apparently Ragnaros decided to put two gem slots in this weapon to make up for missing the eye.... I like that he's trying to stick with the times. The hammer looks pretty wicked, in my opinion, and the stats and damage are awesome. Unfortunately It just doesn't fill the nostalgia gap because it's epic and doesn't have a proc. And I seriously doubt Blizzard will make this legendary, but to me that's alright. It's looks pretty cool and the stats more than make up for the colorscheme of it's title.

The CoH and Equip spell should be changed like this (if it was a legendary for lvl85):

Chance on hit: Hurls a fiery ball that causes 9312 to 12451 Fire damage and an additional 1732 damage over 10 sec.

Seems like Blizzard has done the same with Sulfuras as they've done with Dragonwrath. Dragonwrath has hit, making it purely dps. Sulfuas has crit, meaning it's forbidded for Blood DKs. Sad enough, but I guess DPS will have yet to fight over this weapon...

How come it sells for less than the non heroic version? This is 36g 91s 3c, whereas the non hc sells for 46g 53s 96c. Problem with the data I presume. XD

Landale, if I you were saying it from PoV of hardcore farmers, then yes you are right. If I this weapon was a drop from starter bosses - also fine. But this if the top 2H weapon of 4.2 patch. Not like dedicated DPS would pass it to DK, only because they need mastery and screw crit, especially since crit is 3-2 compared to mastery on this weapon. If it had exp, or at the very least - hit, DKs could use both stats. Even then, tanks do not need to max their weapon damage, so this will anyway, logically obvious, go to DPS.
P.S.: Captain Hindsight downrates!

Edit: after checking stats on other TH weapons of 4.2 content...I've changed my mind. No matter how hard it will be, but this mace is the only BiS for Blood tanks. Axe? Decent mastery for casuals, but haste just kills it. Sword? Blue 60 stamina, good. But haste+crit? No, I will never offend a 2H dps by ninjaing this for damage>threat. Really, this mace is the only option. Even if you reforge the useless crit into some dodge, crit is still better than haste. Even if you ignore 20 str bonus, 120 socketed stamina is BiS stat for Blood DKs. Maybe I will get this on normal mode by the end of 4.2, but even then, I will sing KahneofEtigrigg's remix(below).
Edit2: Bloodgas, make sense. You have just said that every class needs an upgrade, so what? I do not force this mace to be given to Blood DKs, no. It is a DPS weapon, fair enough. It has a ton of crit, 2 red sockets, and seduces dps into putting 40 str gems into it. But what if it had 2 blue sockets? Just for a joke from Blizz. People would also socket 2x40, as they do in 80% of their gear now. Most, and simpliest benefit will only be there for DPS. But these 2 sockets can be used for 120 stamina, 80 mastery - stats that either type of Blood DK would really desire. Crit can be reforged - hell, why bears can reforge every single stat in dodge and we cant?(not serious, just mentioned) Any guild that has a Blood DK who is their MT or 2nd tank or simply someone they respect - would give them this mace, maybe after top prio dps, but still they wont ignore the fact that this mace IS a huge upgrade over same Skullstealer Greataxe. The socket says it all, now if haters can get over themselves, please.

Adventurers never took Sulfuras, the one that players got in Classic was actually a replica. The REAL Sulfuras is miles too big for any mortal to wield.

I shall correct you in one thing, if Sulfuras was indeed too big for any mortal to wield, well... In which page are we talking anyway? Oh, yes. This one.

Now, about the oldschool Sulfuras...

We didn't actually 'steal' Sulfuras, if I'm understanding things correctly. We used the normal process used by Twilight's Hammer cultists to create a Sulfuron Hammer, and then gave it a little extra edge by sticking the Eye of Sulfuras into it. It LOOKS like Rag's hammer, but it's really nothing more than a clever replica. The actual hammer of Ragnaros would've been too big to carry away.

Just to correct, I think it wouldn't be correct to label exactly as "Twilight Hammer Cultists". The best shot would be Dark Iron Dwarves. Both serve Ragnaros, but they aren't the same.

Ragnaros might have had to forge a new hammer, but I seriously doubt he would have had his servants just leave his old hammer lying around in Molten Core. It's quite possible they took it back to the Firelands for him, but I have no idea what he did to get another Eye of Sulfuras.

I'll get you an extract from the WoW RPG book, More Magic and Mayhem:

When a creature is slain by Sulfuras, its body is consumed by intense flame and effectively disintegrated, leaving behind only a pile of ash. The heat and pressure of this effect solidifies the ash into a hard, dark, crystal. This crystal is known as an Eye of Sulfuras and is used by Ragnaros' followers in ancient rituals or to craft special weapons such as sulfuron hammers.

Which means that, Ragnaros only have to kill someone using Sulfuras to craft another one.

This weapon is easily one of the best Strength weapons in the game so far.
Very handy for DK tanks too, all that Stam and Mastery makes it seem like a god of a weapon.

i must say i would perfer the skullstealer great axe over this maace cause the great axe has more haste causeing my runes to genrate much faster ill probaly reforge it for parry but other than that i would use either the axe or mace im a worgen blood death knight give me a decent 2 hander and ill keep the baddies of ya just dont #$%^& at me for being a blood dk

Managed to get this Mace on Heroic Ragnaros. One kill I got my Hawk mount, hit exalted, got this mace, my HC helm and Heroic ragnaros achievement. Quite the event full day. Looks amazing with my Full HC firelands xmorg in pandaria xpack too

Did a Firelands run with the guild tonight, they offered it me and I offered someone else to have it until they explained how rare it was to see drop.

Looks awesome with the Warrior firelands set, i look sexy now.

I have been extremely lucky lately. Have seen 3 drop the past month. Won both on my 2 other chars I didn't solo Firelands on. But after all, have raided Firelands since Cata and haven't seen a single one so it was about damn time. My advise if you can solo FL is to go 10man normal up to ragnaros and then switch to 25man for a bigger loot table. I don't know however if the Sulfuras is programmed as additional loot as mounts are, then it wouldn't matter, but I have never seen this drop in 10man normal difficulty. Good luck all you farmers out there for this EXTREMELY rare and nice weapon.

For warlocks with the glyph of felguard, you are allowed to use this item as one of the felguards weapons which is great if you were disappointed about the older versions of this weapon not being usable!

Is it me or have drop rate increased for this item? Over the period of last two month I looted 3 of those. While before Legion(since FL launched), I only ever saw 2-3 hammers drop in total.
