According to MMO Champion, this book contains five recipes that will stay orange since cooking skill 1 to 300, so you don't have to farm lowbie creatures to get your cooking high anymore.
While it is good for alts, there should be some kind of "requires cooking skill 300 to buy" but being bound to account so you have to do the skilling up process at least once.

These recipes stay orange for forever, it makes it stupidly easy to level an alt's cooking. Try doing the quests on an alt, levelling their cooking as you go, and you should end up with enough "spares" to cover a couple of sets of the dailies, as well as achieving max level cooking with minimal pain.

Sold by
Wilmina Holbeck
. I found here outside SW at 34,51 near the usual holiday camp location. She was standing on some hay bales near the mass of other alliance, so if you are having trouble finding her, she is probably under the pile of mammoths. >.<

This is sold by the vendors near the tables during Pilgrim's Landing for 1 silver. It has 5 recipes in it that you'll need to cook for the 5 holiday dailies, they need from between 1 and 280 cooking skill to cook.

Does anyone else find it odd that the recipes do not drop 100% of the time? Does this mean you may have to buy multiple cookbooks? Not that its a huge waste of money or anything...

Cranberry Chutney
in your bags, but don't cook them now.
26.) Go to Darnassus
27.) Turn in the
Cranberry Chutney
and accept the
They're Ravenous in Darnassus

quest (you should still have the 5 Spice Bread Stuffing and 5 Pumpkin Pie from earlier) and accept the
Candied Sweet Potatoes
quest
28.) Accept the

quest and turn it in right away (you should still have about 80 Pumpkin Pie in your bags from before).
29.) Buy mats to cook 100

30.) Cook
Candied Sweet Potato
until you reach 280 Cooking skill
31.) Learn the

recipe that you got from the Bountiful Cookbook, but don't cook them yet.
32.) Go to Stormwind
33.) Turn in the
Candied Sweet Potatoes
quest and accept the
Slow-Roasted Turkey
quest
34.) Cook enough
Slow-Roasted Turkey
to complete and turn in the Can't Get Enough Turkey quest.
35.) You should now be at 300 cooking skill (Grats!).
36.) If you are at least level 35, talk to the cooking trainer in that area (
Stephen Ryback
, Old Town, Stormwind ) to learn
Master Cooking
skill; otherwise, skip this step
37.) Turn in the
We're Out of Cranberry Chutney Again? (daily)
quest
38.) Turn in the
She Says Potato (daily)
quest which should earn you the
Pilgrim's Progress
achievement.
39.) Cook a minimum of 5
Slow-Roasted Turkey
40.) Go to Darnassus and turn in the
Slow-Roasted Turkey
quest which will get you a
Turkey Caller
that will call a
Lonely Turkey
(you can kill the Lonely Turkey and get a Wild Turkey that can be cooked, but killing the Loney Turkey will NOT count as a kill for The Turkinator achievement.)
41.) If you are at least level 70, you can start doing the
Daily Cooking quest in Shattrath City
. These dailies are a good way to get more recipes, additional cooking mats (without having to kill stuff), and a few special recipes like the recipe for Stormchops or Chocolate Cake. The Shattrath City daily cooking quests have a minimum requirement of level 70 and 275 Cooking skill.
42.) Once you get to 350 Cooking skill (also need a minimum of level 65 and access to the NPC in Dalaran) you can start doing the
WotLK Daily Cooking quests

If you are just leveling, you don't need to make 100 spice bread stuffings right off the bat. You can level from 1 to 40 just on spice bread and get to around 75-80 on the spice bread you already made. Additionally, if you've been mooching around the capitals, doing the dailies, you'll need fewer of these.
BTW, it's a great way to level cooking well past character level. I have a level 30 druid alt who has Northrend level cooking. I looked at her armory and it says she passed 450. That seems odd to me, but I do recall a LOT of turkey hunting.
This year's crop of alts* are going to get to sweet potato level and then rely on the usual capital dailies for further leveling. If I never hunt another turkey again, it'll be too soon.
(* - I'm so OCD that I'm actually spreadsheeting these guys three weeks ahead of the event for my newer 'toons.)

If I buy the cookbook and don't use all the recipies yet, shall it still exist after Pilgrim's event is done? The recipes themselves say "Requires the event", but what about the cookbook?
(And yes, I'm aware that it is easy to use the recipes during the event, that is not relevant to my question now.)

The rough number of ingredients to get from 1 - 430 in cooking, using this book, are as follows:
70 Simple Flour
70 Mild Spices
240 Autumnal Herbs
340 Honey
70 Pumpkins
70 Cranberries
70 Sweet Potatoes
100 Turkeys
(please note that in some cases this will be higher or lower dependent upon RNG and that in most cases the numbers stated here will be slightly higher than what you personally will actually need, however it should also be noted that although these items are not soulbound, due to them having a limited duration, one cannot send them to alts, so anyone seeking to have one character do all the leg work for their alts will unfortunately be unable to do so)
