This information is correct, Although the rate upon which you can receive this item is low. Out of 20 times i have /kiss the revealer's (Both sexes) I only received this item 2 times.

When you cast it on yourself or an ally, it'll be a buff. But when you cast it on an enemy, it'll be a debuff.

Also, these have a duration, of (I think) 10 days.

I saved maybe 100 of these in my mail and bounced them back and forth for the past year.
Now when I try to take them from th mail i disconnect and reset back to where was 2-3 minutes before and the stack of flakes I tried to remove have disappeared fom the mail.
Happened with tricky treats as well. So beware not sure if it will happen with this years flakes.
Sidenote just before I did this I pulled out the recipe to make the winter boots from the mail and after reset I still had one in my bag and a new reset one in mail. 12s 50c gain for me!

In case anyone was wondering, the use of these on someone does break stealth. Tried it out just now with a rogue, so no sneak behind someone, hit them with it, then expect to walk away as easily if you're in PvP.

No sneaking into Org or Stormwind, sorry. :P

This year Handful of Snowflakes can NOT be sent by mail. Hence, you can't rely on alts to get the appropriate number to complete the achievement.

I had some trouble working out where the Winter Reveler's were, so I'm gonna post this here to help some more people who also didn't know where the hell they were.
They are (race) commoners found in inns. They look exactly the same. You should see a sprig of misteltoe above the doorway where they stand. Target one of them, and /kiss. You will then receive either mistletoe, holly or a handful of snowflakes. Make sure you have enough room in your bags or you cant receive the item. You get a debuff that stops you receiving items from kissing them from another hour, even if you received no items because your bags were full.

Recently I've been /kissing the revelers under the misltoe in both Org, and in Dalaran, and haven't been receiving anything. I'm wondering if anyone knows why this is, or is having the same problem. I've gotten two stacks of 5 before, and am one away from having Let it snow! And my bags are empty. Just curious :)

The handful of snowflakes are conjured items, this is the reason why you can't set them into the guildbank. Just try with some mage food, it won't work. You will get the message: "You cannot store conjured items in the guildbank". It is the same with the handful of snowfalkes.

To get the snowflakes you have to /kiss a winter reveler. There is a lot of places to find these, I kissed them in Ironforge. If you would like to find the winter revelers in ironforge just go to the second house to the left when you enter Ironforge. Not the reagent shop (Barim's reagents) but the tavern (stonefire tavern). There is some Christmas decorations over the door so it shouldn't be to hard to spot. When you enter the tavern you should spot them preety early.

You need the snowflakes for the achievement let it snow You will need 10 of them to complete the achievement, and it is 1/3 Chance to get them when you /kiss the winter reveler. Yes, you need let it snow for the tittle/achievement merrymaker. The achievement let it snow gives 10 achievement points, and merrymaker gives 10 achievement points.

I have kissed the Reveler's about 10 times now all together, And I haven't received the handful of Snowflakes ONCE. I'm starting to think that blizzard changed this.

I've only gotten mistletoe so far this year. Still need the merrymaker achievement with this toon, so I am hoping it is just random bad luck and not broken.

Remember, you only get snowflakes (or misletoe or holly) if you kiss a winter reveler who is under the mistletoe. So if any revelers who are outside wont be standing under mistletoe and therefore wont give you anything. Generally, the revelers who are in the inn are the ones standing under mistletoe.

Reveler's Can be Found in the Dalaran and Stormwind Inns. Snowflakes, Mistletoe's, and Holly cannot be mailed.

Sadly, Winter Revelers do not populate every inn / hearth point. They are in the Horde / Alliance inns in Dalaran and the Aldor / Scryer inns in Shattrath. In Orgrimmar, they are (only) in the Valley of Honor inn and the Valley of Strength inn.

Did the drop rate for this get significantly lowered? I've only got a Handful once, & for three days I've been trying to get them again to finish the Let It Snow achievement, & therefore get the Merrymaker achievement, but I keep getting mistletoe & holly like crazy. :( I've tried different inns as well to see if perhaps another inn might increase my odds, but nothing, & it's starting to get me down.

I just need to peg 4 people to get the achievement. Just four, & Merrymaker is done. :(

These items cannot be mailed or put on the Auction House.

HOWEVER! you can trade them, so you can't mail them to your alts, but you can trade them to someone else who then proceeds to trade them to your alts, just in case you're having really bad luck and want a little help tipping the scales by rolling extra alts. (They also cannot be stored in Guild Banks)

Why does winter veil have to end 6am, lost it for that reason. Look at when it ends if u are late, u can end up having to wait a whole year

Unfortunately, getting yourself killed does not get rid of the 1 hour Mistletoe debuff you get from kissing the Winter Revelers. Bummer.

You can only obtain items from Winter Revelers once an hour. Upon getting an item you get a Mistletoe debuff that lasts 60 minutes, preventing you from receiving more items until it is gone.

12 Mistletoes in a row on one character. Logged on to all my alts, 7 more mistletoes. Finally got my Snowflakes thanks to my friend.

Re: "Where do I get the Mistletoe?; Snow Flakes?; Holly?" - You target any Winter Reveler in any Inn, and /kiss them. In addition to kiss noises, brief music, and flying hearts graphics, you will receive a stack of five of either 槲寄生, or 新鲜的冬青树, or 一捧雪花 (assuming you have room in your bags.) There is roughly an equal chance for these to drop, and you can try again every hour.

You get a one hour debuff preventing the items from dropping again for an hour. The debuff works in real time, not play time on that toon, so if you switch toons or take a break, you can /kiss the Winter Reveler again an hour later.

The revelers are always in pairs, a male and a female, for your psychological convenience. Most Inns have them. The labels on the Winter Reveler npcs are <race> <gender> Winter Reveler, not just Winter Reveler. The drop is not affected by which one you choose to kiss, nor which Inn you use.

You can even target the other faction's Winter Revelers. I tested this in Dalaran; I stood my Belf Mage at the door of the Alliance Inn and kissed one of the Revelers standing way inside. (The Winter Reveler was neutral, your faction's are friendly.) I got 一捧雪花, so it works.

All three items that drop are used for Feast of Winter Veil achievements:

槲寄生
(one stack) Horde 节日情谊
(two stacks) Alliance 节日情谊
Excess Mistletoe does not disappear after The Feast of Winter Veil ends, and can be used to apply a spirit buff, useful on healers. This buff does not interfere with other buffs.

新鲜的冬青树
(one stack) 奥格瑞拉，铃儿响叮当
You need either 新鲜的冬青树 or 砍下来的圣诞树. Use the 新鲜的冬青树 first, since it disappears after The Feast of Winter Veil ends.
Excess Fresh Holly disappears after The Feast of Winter Veil ends (this being the primary difference between Fresh Holly and Preserved Holly). Since Fresh Holly is also soulbound, you might as well use it up.

一捧雪花
(at least two stacks) 雪花纷飞
You can do this with two stacks if you make no mistakes.
Excess Handfuls of Snowflakes disappear after The Feast of Winter Veil ends. They are not soulbound, but as temporary items, cannot be auctioned, mailed, nor put in your guild bank. They can be handed to another player.

I just got a couple handfuls very quickly. I simply asked my guildmates that were in Org to come blow a kiss and trade with me. This item can still be traded but can't be mailed or sold on the AH.

I must have bad luck (or bad kisses). I've kissed at least 15 revelers, and received nothing but mistletoe and holly -- no snowflakes at all, and I really wanted to finish "Let It Snow" this year.

On This Christmas Achievement 雪花纷飞 You have 2 steps:

1. Get 一捧雪花 from Winter Reveler use /kiss on Her ( i done it in Dalaran WOTLK 43 63 as well She can give you 2 other items 新鲜的冬青树 or 槲寄生 ). You can get maximum 5 but you need 10 You will need to come and try in next hour to get 5 more.

2. Use 一捧雪花 on each of the race/class combinations listed below:

- Orc Death Knight
- Tauren Shaman
- Undead Rogue
- Gnome Mage
- Blood Elf Warlock
- Human Warrior
- Night Elf Druid
- Troll Hunter
- Dwarf Paladin
- Draenei Priest

I done it in Oribos as well You can do it in Dalaran but i think now in Oribos is much more players ( In future will be a City from new update ).

The absolute BEST place to do Let It Snow right now is outside the Mage Tower on the Broken Shore since everyone and their mother is trying to get those sweet new recolored armor sets. I flew around Org, Dalaran, and ran around Oribos only to find maybe one combination needed for the achievement. The second I landed at the Mage Tower I immediately saw like 5 of the ones I needed. Hang around long enough and you're just BOUND to find them all.

As a Nightborne Mage I had no clue how to finda gnome Mage, until I realised, if you step into the Winter Wondervolt next to the flightmaster you turn into a Gnome... easy win :D

They aren't soul bound, however, for those interested in mailing these to your alts don't bother as you can't mail items with a limited duration.

The Handful of Snowflakes can be obtained by /kiss one of the revelers that are standing under some mistletoe. The revelers can be found inside the inn’s! I read somewhere that the snowflakes are a 1 in 3 chance drop rate, it dropped on the third go for me! It may drop other items like Fresh Holly. And you can only try this once an hour as you get the ‘Mistletoe’ buff - once that clears you can try the kissing again!

Kind of annoying you have to go through that process twice as you only get 5 snowflakes, and there are 10 different race/class combos to get!
