Can be procured from herbing, mining, or killing monsters. They are also world objects. A Large glowing column indicates you've found one, similar to the eggs at Celestial Ridge in Netherstorm. Finding these quite quickly. Haven't farmed much and hit friendly the first day.

Seems to have a very low drop chance about ~1% as I have killed about 600 mobs in the mines and got 5 or 6 so far.

The best place to farm these for me are in the mines. I clear back and forth from the flayers to the crazed murkblood guys. In the last hour I've found 7 eggs, 4 of those looted off the ground.

In my experience the best drop rate for these was off the rays. In the first two days I found one egg on the ground and 11 off the Rays. Since then farming mostly the mines I find more on the ground, and almost none off mobs. Either luck, or the Ray drop rate is considerably better due to lower spawn rates.

If mines are packed, give it a shot, the Motes of Mana are worth getting too.

Try looking for them on the Island as well as on the small floating Rocks around it. Those eggs also spawn in the Netherwing Fields and Dragonmaw Fortress - just seek them everywhere you have the disguise-buff. :)

These seem to spawn at certain locations, though I am not sure how long the respawn time is. I've seen one respawn behind the two elite drakes near the 'dock' where Netherwing Transporters land and fly off from, and it respawned in the same exact place. However, getting it required one person distracting the drakes because it was too close to them to open up without aggroing.

I've also seen them drop off the Nethermine Flayers more than once, though it's rather rare most of the time. I have also seen some spawn at different places in the cave, but finding them is tough since the mines are so camped most of the time.

Some other things to note:

1. Like Sasquatchiii said in another thread, if you're grouped you roll need/greed on the eggs if you come across one on a mob or 'open' a spawned egg up.

2. They DO stack, 20 per stack.

3. You only get the gold reward once on the FIRST turn in, and any eggs turned in after that just net you 250 rep.

4. You can turn in as many as you like in one day as the quest to turn them in IS NOT considered a daily quest.

5. A spawned egg is considered to be like a treasure chest in that you CANNOT open it up if you're in combat. You have to be OUT of combat to open it up and get the egg.

Like was said above, finding them in the open is a matter of right time/right place. If you find a spot in the open, it can respawn at the same spot. No idea on a timer on these things.

I managed to get about 7 or 8 my first day rep grinding...after that I been getting just a few a day. Most for me have been in the mine either spawned egg or mined. A few have come from mob drops. I got extremely luck once and got 2 eggs in a single ore vein.

I just spent the day farming for these ... got about 17 total in one day. Took a while but here's how I did it.

1) Start out in the mines. Get into the area with the ravagers and flayers and start killing mobs, hoping for a drop. Go all the way south to the miners and kill them too. Look for eggs along the way.

2) Drop down into the lower part of the mines, where the oozes and worms are. Kill some of them for possible eggs while looking along the walls for static spawns.

3) Run up onto the mining car rails and run out of the mines, keeping an eye out for eggs. Once out, hop on your mount and start scouring the islands along the fringes of the main island (Netherwing Ledge). I found many of my eggs out along these islands. Work your way counterclockwise around the island until you reach the NE corner of the island.

4) Fly north to the Dragonmaw Fortress and hunt for eggs here. They can be inside of the buildings as well as up along the walls, tucked behind the standing Dragonmaw Drakeriders. They can also be down on the ground but not nearly as often. I found a LOT of eggs here, as not many players bother flying out there to find the eggs.

5) Fly back to Netherwing Ledge and scour the islands with large crystal formations on them, to the north of the main island. Work counterclockwise, covering each island.

6) Once you reach the mines again, fly north along the runway looking for eggs, then re-enter the mines and pick up from Step 1.

Granted, it took me a number of hours to get all 17 eggs in one day but it meant I could get exalted tomorrow, instead of on Tuesday. I hope this works as well for you as it did for me.

It is possible to "farm" the eggs. They just have a very low droprate on all mobs on Netherwing Ledge, and spawn in the egg containers.

If you want to "farm" them, there are several ways.

First, the Overmine Flayers. They are close together, are usually left alone by players (unlike the Nethermine variant), and can be chained in quick succession without player intervention. This gives them the highest time:drop ratio of the netherwing ledge mobs.

Second, Nethering Rays. They are far apart from each other, but chances are you'll come across egg containers more frequently. They are the slowest way to farm eggs, but not by much, *and* they drop motes of mana aswell, which evens it out for some wishing to combine activities.

Third, Nethermine mobs. You can get into the flayer tunnels by jumping up into them, you don't need to go all the way down the railtracks to get there. Clean the tunnels going 'downhill', past the murkblood mobs, and jump down to Toranaku. From there, you can run up towards the railtracks and repeat the route - It visually covers the entire cave, and as the egg containers are most frequently found inside the mine, this way is the fastest to "farm" the eggs, but only if there are no or little other players around doing the same.

In any case, farming them is an arduous task at best. 2 eggs per hour only happens when you've very lucky in the mines with almost no other players around, 1 egg per 60-90 minutes is what you can usually count on. Still, farming eggs is by no means an effective way to grind rep, there are more profitable and useful things you can do since the mobs drop little else than coins and gray vendor trash when not on Netherwing quests.

You should only farm them if you're, say, 500-1250 rep away from the next rep level, if you're impatient it shouldn't take too much trouble farming the eggs for that 'rep-up'. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on it regardless.

You should find enough eggs throughout your daily grind to get you through to exalted in not too much time. Don't try to farm them unless you're really close to gaining a reputation level - Especially since other people need to kill those mobs for their dailies! It is very rude just to farm the mines when you've already finished them and when there are others who still need to finish their dailies.

Also, just fly around the Ledge once in a while, eggs can be found on strange places :)

I went from neutral to exalted in a week from farming eggs. I believe I've had better luck than Reii, so it could go either way, but if you really want rep, I wouldn't say it's a bad route to take.

My tactic:

Log on, check Dragonmaw Fortress for eggs (check behind perched drakes, in the whelpling corral, the open hut, stables, etc.). Head onto the ledge after checking the little surrounding islands and complete all daily quests (checking the fortress again after doing off-site quests, such as the Nagrand one). After that, I went back into the mine and killed Nethermine Bursters and Black Blood of Draenor mobs (neither of which are needed for any quests besides crystals, which you can get killing anything, so you don't have to worry about being rude as mentioned in a previous comment). When my bags filled up, I would exit the mine to repair and sell all my junk to Gug. I'd usually make about 30 gold an hour in trash, as well as half a dozen greens (give or take). In my week of farming, I also found three rare jewelcrafting recipes.

The bloods are particularly nice. You basically get two chances at an egg since the "sludge-covered objects" can also have an egg in them. Rare, yes, but it made me feel slightly more productive with my time! I got the majority of my eggs from these mobs.

If you're killing bloods and bursters, keep an eye out for eggs on that floor. I have seen eggs in most of the little corners (where the bursters path), near sets of crates, atop the end of the tracks, and to the left of the big dragon in his holding room.

Another alternative, if you're bored and feeling social, is to farm them with a friend. I am a frost mage and my husband is an affliction warlock and we pretty much went crazy slaughtering everything on that lower floor and in under 20 minutes, I got four eggs. The faster you kill, the better your chances.

Good times to farm (though this may vary by server) are during the workday, of course, but if you're free, check weekday evenings when a lot of people who are farming this rep are busy raiding.

Lastly, the benefit to farming these eggs instead of searching for them is to not have your heart broken when someone of the opposite faction inevitably gets to an egg before you do. And laughs.

i was really lucky yesterday i found 19 eggs in various places on the ledge ontop of the mountains very obvious and in cargo trolleys, so look every where for them. i have gone from neutral to revered in 3 days so the eggs help..plus there is a quest that is rare that drop off the black oozeling guys which gives u 850 rep worth grinding for.

its worth keep ing a couple of eggs in your bank becasue when u get to that last few hundread rep you can just turn them in..

Has any herbalist and miner tried collecting these from both netherdust bushes and nethercite deposits? I'm both, and I've only ever got eggs from the nethercite veins. At the moment I just chalk it up to strange luck, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of restriction on using more than one gathering profession.

yes the eggs do come out of herbs to, rate is low i have found about 3 or 4 out of bushes but have looted at least 150, you will find it better to look for eggs, since yesterday i was revered and started yesterday morning, found 31 eggs by that night thru loot and finding eggs in all different places, started again this morning at 9.30 now 2.30 just done daily's and found 17 more eggs... total of 48 eggs now exalted...taken 5 days....Warlocks a great way to search for them with out killing mobs use your eye of kilrogg saves heaps of time.

look every guys i will try to do a small map where they spawn but you have to check the area regular as spawn time are eractic, plus i have found that an egg may spawn in a spot for a few day and not again for a few day. But keep checking, plus if you wait awhile you will find you should be offred completed daily qsts again, so u can get the higher rep ones and leave the lower rep one i found this out yesterday, also if u have a restart and done all dailies check it when you log back in some times it resets some of the quests but you dont loose the rep or gold so u can do them agian. if you work at it you can do it i got neutral to exalted less than 5 days

The good thing is if you're one of the newer people working on netherwing faction you'll have less competition for the eggs as for anybody exalted has no use for them since they don't bring any gold with turnins.

Something really bizzare just happened to me as I was doing Netherwing Quests. I hadn't been able to find an Egg for a couple days now, and was getting frustrated about it. I was doing the 40 crystals quest in the mine when, lo and behold, I find an egg on the ground! I grab it, considering myself lucky.

But then...the next two guys I killed (Nethermine Flayers) BOTH dropped eggs! I got three in literally 2 minutes!

As a shaman, you can use your 'Far Sight' ability to look for eggs in the mine, so long as you are outside the mines when you use it. Just stand by the demon chick and cast inside the tunnel, recasting to move farther and farther in.

Just a little tip now that I think about it. It was a LOT easier for me to find eggs either really late at night (or very early in the morning, however you wish to say it). I found that if I was on like anywhere from 12:30am - 4am I could rack up quite a lot of eggs due to the fact other people were sleeping. So for those who are night owls like me, try going farming late at night.

Just from one run tonight (and my first since 3.0.2), but I spent about 15-20 minutes doing my normal dailies in the mine and had 3 of these drop just off of mobs.

Can anyone confirm that/if the drop rate on these has been buffed significantly? I haven't had one of these drop for me from a mob in about 2 weeks worth of dailies, so three in one night seems a bit extreme.

Another handy tip when looking for eggs in the fortress area... you can tell when an egg is in either balcony tower because the glow from the egg will come out of the roof and resemble smoke. Saves time having to land and readjust the camera and you can get to other spawns quicker that way if the towers are empty. Happy Hunting!

So after a few days of farming eggs, I have a few theories on how they spawn.

1) There is no cap on eggs in a day. You can get as many as you want. I literally picked up about 20 eggs yesterday, so if there's a cap, it's at least more than 20.

2) The respawn rate varies, so you can't really predict. However, I'd say it's at least an hour.

3) All eggs are on static spawn points (meaning they're in a fixed location). Therefore, I'd recommend downloading Gatherer to help you locate spawn points.

Finally, I have a theory on when the eggs respawn. All spawn points can be divided into 3 zones: Dragonmaw Fortress, Netherwing Ledge, and Netherwing Mines. It seems that there is about 2 - 3 eggs per zone. Once you extinguish the eggs in one zone, there's no more in that zone for a while (hour maybe?).

What can this mean? It means that there are about 6 eggs spawned in all 3 zones combined. When the eggs are picked up in their zone, they won't respawn again until later. Therefore, if you pick up 2 eggs in a zone, you may as well move on to another zone. If you can't find any eggs in all 3 zones, someone has probably already depleted the eggs. Do something else for an hour because you're wasting your time.

Finally, these drop off all Netherwing mobs and come off mining/herbalism nodes. The drop rate is only about 1%, but if you farm enough, you might be able to use this to your advantage.

Once again, it's a theory of mine and I make no guarantee that this is correct. If anyone can shed some insight into my theory, it'd help a lot.

Like what Mintyduck said above, killing the Black Blood of Draenor is a slow but good way to go. It's particularly helpful because they have a high drop rate of the Netherwing Crystals (at least, for me, they dropped much more frequently than off the Flayers suggested by the quest). So not only are you able to farm the crystals through the Bloods, but they may drop the Netherwing Egg, or the Netherwing Egg may also be contained within Sludge-Covered Object. And who knows? Maybe you'll find a couple Nethercite Ore in the Sludge-Covered Object as well.

I was lucky and found 5 Netherwing Eggs (Sorry for busting your theory, nhc150) within the mines in less than 20 minutes. I came back an hour later and only 1 egg had respawned within the mines. Perhaps this helps strengthen the theory that only one egg spawns every hour? (I had also checked the Fortress and most of the Ledge, and there were no other eggs that I could find).

Great stuff farming Netherwing rep now on 80
I always start in the cave doing those dailys, usually find around 2 eggs, go out do the others and then fly to dragonmaw fortress where I always find atleast 1, then take another round in the mine and find 1-2 more. So 5 eggs in around 50min, usually way some time before going into the mines again so they get time to spawn ^^

If you're a warlock, use Eye of Kilrogg to scan parts of the mine. Saves a lot of time not having to fight/shake off the mobs just to see if an egg has spawned.

Fresh of server restart, I found 2 in the fortress and 5 in the mine..

Something no one seems to mention is the purple smoke that comes out of the eggs, mines and herbs. Rather than looking around every corner, just look out for the purple smoke. Particularly handy in the mines, and for people who haven't seen one before.

right now i am revered and went from hated to revered in 5 days(i got the achevement today) and well i did the math with olny mineing i can get from revered to exaluted in 5 days(6 if you do not do the flight fights) so i decided to farm the eggs wile the chance is low just pull a entire room aoe everything loot mine serch the area and i shortened my 5-6days down to 3 so farming eggs is worth the time to bad i dident go neutral-revered that way

As of Patch 3.1, gettting this eggs is a joke. Everyone hangs out at Ulduar or at the Tournament. No one cares about the eggs, i've managed to get from neutral to revered in 4 days. So if you always wanted your Netherdrake, now it is the best chance to do so.

First off, I'm a Human Death Knight. For some reason I get 275 rep per hand in on these not 250. I'm assuming there's a reason for this but I haven't asked in case they fix a bug...

Secondly... If you farm these at the right time you can collect 15/20 in about 2 hours (assuming you're doing the dailies at the same time). I'm on The Sha'Tar server and if I hit the mine at 6:30 (about the time I get in off night shift...) I get 5 or 6 off the ground, 4/5 out of carts (once you've done that daily...) 2 or 3 from mining and 2 or 3 from killing mobs. DragonMaw Fortress drops a couple, the rocks between there and the island drop a couple, I've even found them in Dragonmaw Stronghold fairly regularly. The flayers on top of the mountain (working back down to ground level usually drop 2/3.) It's monotonous but I've got from Neutral to over half way through revered (towards Exalted) in 3 days with a combination of quests and farming.

It would appear that Netherwing Eggs spawn in much greater number and/or frequency since Patch 3.2 is live. From two 15 minutes mine runs, I have been getting ~7 eggs per run which is way above what it used to be before the patch. (It could be pure luck, of course, but I do not believe that.)

Well, as an 80 Blood/Unholy DK with Deadly/Furious gear, Black Ice and Frost Presence, I'm consistently getting about 1 egg per 3 (big) pulls; which is MUCH faster than my previous attempts at flying around looking for them on the ground.

My suggestion is to pull a whole bunch of them, AoE them down, and hopefully get an egg... I've been at it for 30 mins now and have 5 eggs, so I figured this was definitely worth mentioning for all you 80's out there that want that sexy Drake.

First of all sorry for my bad english:
Done it all the way to exalted in less than 48 hours in a medium populated server but saw only 10 or so people during that time doing those quests while I was there. Human racial helped a lot.

Oh and I can confirm that rule about being only 6 eggs at the same time is not true, I collected more than 8 in less than 20 minutes twice.
I had minning but after filling an entire bag of 32 slots with that inutile ores and not finding a single egg I stopped looking for them and just concentrate on eggs. They also drop from time to time if you kill mobs.

Yes the eggs spawn at certain places and you need to learn where as you follow a certain route. There's a great YouTube video where this guys shows you the spots. Search for "netherwing egg" on YouTube.

And the respawn time is fast, around 5 minutes. Check who else is in the same zone (/who shadowmoon). If you see other 80s then they might most certainly be taking your eggs.

I spent today farming them, and got 17, got 3 on the surface, 4 in the mines, 5 mining drops, 4 in the stronghold, and 1 drop from a flayer... pretty easy to find once you get used to where they spawn, make sure to check behind the perched dragons in the towers, and i've gotten about ten from the stables/dragon hatchery/dilapidated hut on the trail up the mountain in the fortress.

I'e been farming these eggs for 3 days now, collecting 10 - 15 eggs a day. IDK if it's because of alow populated server or if it's just luck. Search the mine, check where the den mother is (the flayer) found 3 eggs just by her alone.

Got neutral to exalted in only 2 days on my 70 shaman back in BC by picking up tons of eggs, thought I'd give it another try now in WotLK with my warrior, but didn't see a single egg anywhere? Did they reduce the spawn rate on ground eggs and increase it on drops instead? Or did I just happen to come minutes after someone looted the lot?

Edit: Seems like I might be mistaken, just found 7 on the ground on the next lap some days later. *probably* wont do another marathon, but doing all those annoying grinding quests a 4th time just doesn't sound like fun ;> A treasure hunt sounds a little bit more interesting at least ^^

I guess I'm not as lucky as some. I started 3 days ago (doing an hour a day) on dailies for a netherdrake. I've had less than 10 eggs spawn in that time. I've had 2 from mobs, the rest I found in the mines. The nice thing is they are noticable from a distance, because of the "steam" coming from them.

Just finished with exalted status on Netherwing. Started around thursday or friday and finished at monday. So in short, you can get from hated to exalted in 4-5 days if you want, meaby even faster. Its really important to know exact spawn places, if you want to get exalted in days.

It really seems that the spawn rate of the eggs is really random, sometimes you get 8 eggs in 20min, sometimes just 1-2 in one hour.

I'll recommend looking for these in the flyer area in the mines. Last time I went there doing my dailies I returned to the surface with 6 eggs

The "Environment Detail" Slider under "video" in the game menu, is you're friend, give it lots of tasty data to eat, and like a sniffer lizard, it will point out eggs by allowing them to be seen farther away
Try not to drop them into a smoldering volcano crater and cook them, the netherwing don't like people eating their unhatched young.
Note: This tip is mostly for laggy'r players using slowish comps. as otherwise you'll likely have it turned up anyway

Another thing to note: the changes involving the trading of soulbound items dosen't apply to these. I found out the hard way when I grouped with someone for the dalies. He looted an egg, we both rolled, I won. When I tried to give it back to him, I got the "soulbound Items cannot be traded" message. He seemed bummed, so I gave him 50g in compensation.

Eggs can be found in high volume and can spawn literally anywhere. Over the course of 3 days I've found 11 eggs without any significant farming or change to my daily routine, each one no more than 5-10 minutes apart and all on the island. Just remember to check in corners and deeper areas of the mine, as the majority of eggs will be found as "chests". While you're outside of the mine, look on top of mountains and in crystal clusters. If you're a miner/herbalist, open up as many Nethercite Nodes or Netherdust Bushes as possible. Don't be afraid to fight a few mobs, at level 80 they can be dispatched quickly.

Obviously luck does have a large play in finding eggs, but even just a quick jog through all parts of the mine can yield some surprises.

I suspect there's some growing queue of eggs that builds up over 4 hours or so.

I showed up at around 4AM ST and started my dailies in the mines. I got eight eggs in one trip through the mines, 4-5 from spawn points, the rest from mobs. The spawn points were literally one after another by the flayers and murkbloods... clear a room, loot the eggs. Clear the next room, loot the eggs.

Turned it all in, then went to do the above ground quests. Tried the overmine nethers--killed them almost two times over: no drops. Though I got that severed hand quest at least. Found a couple eggs on the crystal islands. Went to Dragonmaw Fortress, found 2 more. Came back and turned em in. Perhaps 30 minutes have elapsed at this point with 12 eggs found. Decided to have two more runs through the mines and another 30+ minutes of flying around, only got a couple more drops from mine mobs. Got bored, logged.

So yes, that was 14+ eggs in an hour or so, mostly front loaded. Given that, I don't recommend farming for more than an hour at a time. Just show up at a weird hour, do a couple runs around, loot the eggs that are probably already spawned, kill some mobs, and then go about your business. Don't bother waiting for egg respawns.

Personally in my opinion the overmine flayers are the best place to farm these.They have a decent droprate and the hill where they are on has about 4 egg spawn points.

These eggs are pretty hard to find at first if you do not know the common locations for these eggs, there are some main places to check first:

1. in the mine itself, make a run through it completely check all side chambers and make sure you get a good look inside they tend to be hidden very well in some nooks all the way in the back. also pay attention to the mining carts, since you can only see the top spikes of the eggs when they are in one they tend to look like regular collectible mining carts. somthing i notice also is that you can see the eggs before you see the mining carts and that is confusing leading some people to walk around in circles looking for the egg they saw in the distance.

2. there are some chunks of land floating on the south side off netherwing ledge, i'd suggest checking those, so far i've found 1 each time i've checked them. there is a large chunk where a Npc called Okaos the Insane walks around in circles, with 2 clusters off crystal on (its hard to miss with this description) where i find most of my eggs on these chunks of land.

3. Dragonmaw Fortress has some eggs to offer as well. check all around this is a tough one since for some computers the general landscape is already visible from far, but the actual details (npc's, scenery and collectible spawns) only load and show once you get close! on slower computers this is worse so take this into account when looking here. i find that the only egg I've seen outside is on a cart right at the entrance (I'll upload a clear image off this egg as soon as i get one again), the rest were all inside the actual fortress further in the back of this stronghold. Other eggs were placed behind the dragonmaw drake-riders, generally the ones perched on a platform infront of a little hut behind him, they put the eggs inside this hut, so they aren't visible from far or close without an intentional look through!

thats all the info i have for now, I'll continue uploading clear and detailed images of each egg i find.

With the lull before the next expansion, and summer break for the kids in school, a lot of people seem to be going back and working on older content again. I myself decided today to work on Netherwing rep for the first time on one of my toons, since I played infrequently through TBC so it wasn't until after wrath launch that I got one of my toons 300 riding.

When I went there the first time today, there were a good 20 other people there grinding their rep. So I never managed a single egg after I opened up their rep and did the first batch of dailies. How easy getting the eggs will be will really depend on how populated your server is (mine is one of the original servers that were open when the game initially launched, so it's fairly high population) as well as the time of day you get out there.

Went back just after midnight server time and collected 8 eggs (2 on the ledge, 5 in the mine, 1 more on the ledge after about an hour), there were only two others out there, one not even working on their rep, the other was just killing stuff in the mine. Best time of the day to try and find them will likely be the wee hours of the morning, and this will probably hold true for most servers. Of course, this won't exactly be the most convenient time to rep grind for a lot of people.

For anyone else who was curious, as of 3.3.5 you can loot Netherwing Eggs from both the actual egg spawns and from dead mobs while you are in a raid group. If you're like me and worried that you can't farm them while waiting for ICC to form because for some reason they count as quest items or something, well, worry no longer.

Let's face it, these little buggers make your reputation grind shorter. They can also make your grind irritating. Unless you understand the mechanics of the eggs.

Miners and Herbalists gain a slight edge due to a 1% chance of receiving an Egg per node. If you can Mine (Nethercite) or Harvest (Netherdust) , I suggest you do so when you approach a node.

All creatures that are able to be killed in the area also have a 1% chance to drop an Egg.
Black Brood of Draenor may drop an Egg twice. Due to "Sludge Covered Object".

Eggs also spawn at static locations throughout;

Dragonmaw Fortress
Netherwing Ledge
Netherwing Mines

There may be up to 10 Eggs total, spawned at any given time. Tested spawn timers fluxuate between 10-30 minutes after the Egg was looted. Where the next Egg will spawn, is random throughout the static spawn points.

Gatherer (AddOn) is recommended to keep track of where you looted your eggs. (You can also upload all known looted positions to create a route).

YouTube also has videos of player created routes and detailed flight paths.

Please understand that you may not get many due to competition or RNG. You may not loot eggs while in combat. (Use this to your advantage if you see an opposing Faction member running to an egg)

Keep your eye out for that famous swirly purple/black smoke. Happy Hunting!

After 30 minutes of farming broods in mines I had:

223 x netherwing crystal
3 x random greenies (disenchanted to arcane dust)
1 x blue (Ced's Carver)
2 x netherwing egg

32g 10s from vendor trash

Does anyone know if the eggs share any kind of spawn with the mining/herb nodes? On my server (and probably on most this late into Wotlk) there aren't very many people doing this anymore. (I've seen 10-15 alliance+horde combined over the past few days of egg hunting/doing dailies) But even when I have logged on early in the morning to scan for eggs, I'll find 2-3 tops but always tons of nethercite/bush nodes which I assume aren't being picked because they sit in the same spots all week. Which made me wonder, do mining/herb nodes hold up egg spawns at all or are they independent?

Yo peeps, First of I just wanna say, zomaygawd this is cakeeasy to do! Eggfarming realy is the way to go!
Got myself a lvl80 dk with Icc gear and desided i wanted a wickedlooking mount to go with it.
I asked some of my already exalted friends what they could tell me about their experience of repping with Netherwing, and I came across a troll hunter who did this whole grind in 4 days. though he didnt let himself get any sleep at all 4 days are pretty wicked. Cudos Max. Anyway i desided I wasnt realy that desperate so I asked him do show me his flightpath and mine run. So he did, and they are very much alike to the two youtube vids I will link below. Cudos to the song in the Flightpath movie, its Dave Matthews Band and the song is called Two steps, listened to the whole album meanwhile i farmed:)

From my experience, you have to combine this, cause there is a set number off eggs "up" at all time. what I did was do the flying part twice, then head over to the mine, and ofc do that twice. rince and repeat. Now the most important tip i can tell you all is that the eggs gives out alot of "smoke" and are realy realy easy to see. You generally cant miss one.

Im currently Revered and Ive only been at it for about a day.
So this is very very doable. All quests are soloable, atleast from a dk:)
A tip here is also to use Unholy presence in the mine. and also I had the On a pale horse talent with gives me 20% increase mountspeed. Helps alot:)

Ps. the revered quests requires you to be honored with either Aldor/scryer, didnt take long either to repfarm the aldor rep just north of Arch in Terrokar Forrest. The Cabalt orcs are lowlvls and you oneshot them pretty easy. And since im a human with the +10% rep gained it was supereasy.

TIP: the eggs spawn at random. you can get 1 egg in the mine at 2:00 and then get 3 at 4:00 and then 0 at 7:00. i got 2k into revered on my 2nd day. and basedo ff the like 40 eggs ive farmed, they
A: almost never were in the same exact spot.
B: there werent always eggs in the 3 areas (fortess, ledge, mine)

A lot of people doing this in the run up to Cataclysm. Almost impossible to find eggs with 10 other people running the route.

....however. I just logged in on patch day, first one here it seems. With no-one else to compete with, and being first after realm-up I found 11 eggs in 2 rounds of the entire area including caves. I think after I've handed in the dailies I may be exalted today. Woot!

So, advice: Get there at realm-up and grab those eggs!

there is an egg that spawns on one of the small islands just off the souther edge of the netherwing ledge, this small island is NOT solid, except for a tiny weeny portion where the egg is, dont be like me and think you've landed just to fall into nothingness.

Today is the Cataclysm launch, and because I don't own the expansion yet, I'm just cleaning up my BC factions. Today on Netherwing Ledge I found 10 Netherwing Eggs within 20 minutes. There may have even been more, but the 10th got me exalted. I seriously doubt that any of them could have been respawns since I found them all so quickly.
This doesn't really help anyone figure out the respawn rate, but I believe that this proves that as many as 10 can be up at one time, maybe more.

Yesterday i got from 4000/6000 friendly to 8947/21000 revered by doing all the daily´s + quests and i got 20+ eggs just by flying around the island. 3 eggs dropped from mobs and 3 from netherbushes. Eggs spawn often in the mine, the fortress and the ``mountain´´ tops on the ledge. Happy hunting :D

Eggs on the ground have a minimum respawn time of about 20-30 minutes, oftentimes more, and there can only be 5 up at one time (all areas, combined). Personal observation from farming eggs at 3am when no one else is in the zone.

its probably allready posted milion times but ill say once again,if you want quick 6 or mroa eggs in less than 20 mins go after 4pm or early morning,after that time ull be finding 1 egg per 20 min or more becaue people are coming online for dailies and farm :/

Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but it looks like the egg turn-ins work with the guild perk Mr. Popularity. I'm turning them in for 262 a pop, up from 250. Wish I was at level 12 now!

I cannot stress enough that you need to explore the mine, especially when you do not see any other level 85's around. Everyday while doing my dailies I run across 2-6 eggs in the mines. You need to do 2 dailies in there anyways, so explore the whole mine. At 85 you can walk by the mobs with little fear of aggro, and so what if you do pull some? You can mow them down. Be sure to check every little nook and cranny. With the new draw distancing in Cataclysm you should be able to view most spots without needing to go in them.

Following the amazing video guide, and exploring the dungeon completely typically gets me 6-10 eggs per run of dailies. You can always try for eggs again an hour later anyways!

After 4 days of farming with over 30 eggs a day I reached exalted. Definitely an easy rep to get, just a lot of effort required and some free time. Of course this is in cata and I'm unlucky if 2 people are my competition, however if you follow a basic pattern of scanning all areas every 1-2 hours, you will get about 3-7 every run around. Its a good thing to follow, so yeah, HAPPY REPPIN!

I believe that the "Mines" and "Netherwing Ledge" are both considered the same spawn zone, all three of the areas could share respawn timers, but I don't really have any evidence to prove that.

Just now I logged in at off-peak hours, 3:11am server time and ran through the mines, I found 4 eggs in 5 minutes. Then I headed over to the fortress and found 2, then did 2 laps of the crystal fields and found 0.

The eggs seem to respawn roughly every 30 minutes.

As a human you have diplomacy and that plus rank 1 of Mr. Popularity had made it range from 287 - 288 rep added per hand in of the eggs. Diplomacy gives you 10% which brings it up from 250 rep to 275 rep. I wonder how it would be with Diplomacy plus Rank 2 Mr. Popularity so now I am breaking my trusty dusty calculator out and I am doing the math in which I am going to get you in on how I am doing the math.

250 + 10% (25) = 275 + 10% (27.5) = 302.5
which with that. I would have to be thinking that like what my current status with the Rank 1 Mr Popularity which gains you 5% more rep would have this down below.
250 + 5% (12.5) = 262.5 + 10% (26.25) = 288.75

I have used the Microsoft Preloaded calculator program to come up with these figures.

first day I started I did the dailys and then farmed some eggs and im at about 6000/12000 so i think its an easy thing to do and i'v had proble 20-30 eggs in that one day so yeah, if its that easy after about 1-2hours of farming then who else cant do it? apart from those who are just unlucky getting them, but yeah, happy egg hunting

Getting eggs from mobs is just a royal pain. After 150+ enemies killed.... nothing.

It's a lot easier just to do the daily quests, and you're exalted in about a week.

Or maybe my luck is just terrible.

I found that farming these along with the ore and crystals goes fairly fast in the mines.
As an arms warrior i aggro all the flayers and workers in the mine while spamming demo shout and then once they are all rounded up i hit bladestorm. Wait a few minutes or so for all of them to respawn and repeat.

Doing this for about an hour i have picked up 5 eggs 80 ore and 377 crystals along with trash items to pay my repair.
Also keep an eye out for eggs that are on the ground , they will sparkle.

Three specific places you can find these (in addition to the many good suggestions already here): On the peak of a sharp hill next to the runway tower at the Dragonmaw Base Camp; at the base of the same hill, hidden in the crystals close to the bottom of the runway tower; and on the peak of a sharp hill next to the dock where the Dragonmaw transporters come and go.

In terms of mob drops, I had strange variation in luck during my six days of grinding. First three days, I had an egg drop every 30 to 40 mobs. The last three days, not a single mob drop. In any case, hunting for the eggs is far faster than mob-farming them.

when i was farming for eggs, the best times for egg hunting were just after i woke up and just before i went to sleep - gmt +0.

mines are the best place to search - one or two can be found in the place where you enter the mines, sitting around in either the carts or next to the orcs
near the crust bursters, expect to find two or three every few hours - i think the respawn time is only two and a half hours or less, minimum of half an hour
near the evil flayer type bugs, look in every nook, cranny and cart - you may see the eggs hidden anywhere
turn your graphics settings up a tiny bit, you need to be able to see the mist coming off the egg, it helps a lot!
loot everything. a quarter of the eggs i found must have been looted

the mines are the best place to look - you will find some eggs on the ledge, outside, but much less will be found than in an quick mines run (assuming there are three there, spawned, at any one time)

I've tried farming a few recently. I was wondering does anyone know how often they respawn? I've heard they respawn every hour on the hour. In which case only bother going after the hour has changed, but i don't know if this is true.

From my experience looking for spawn is best. I've picked up eggs from mining the ores in the region, and killing mobs, but both of those are rare.

I'm 1872 into revered. I can't remember if gathered any since I got revered. Is this a new thing where they can't be gathered after you get revered?

I did loot one off a dead crazed miner guy though.
Nothing I've read here has said you can't get them after a certain rep.

I just started the dailys you there for rep for the 6 mounts. i took me an hr to find 1 egg. it was in the mines. they need to up the spawn rate for these. If there is more people out there looking for the same u will have a very hard time getting on without having to fight for it. good hunting and remember the only good ally is a dead ally :P

It's been said on this page a bunch of times, but it has helped me TONS:

Look for the pillar of smoky purple light. It'll help you catch the ones that are tucked behind rocks and around corners and off the edges of platforms that you would miss otherwise. This has been some of the best advice put into these comments.

Allow me to start off by saying this, I have finally decided to farm the netherwing faction after 4.3 dropped. I have absolutely no competition on my server. I have come to the conclusion, as I have done this over a span of a few days, that I am able to find 10 eggs at a given time. Every time I search for eggs, I find 10. I always find 2 eggs at the fortress, 3 eggs on the island, and 5 eggs in the mine. The respawn does seem to be 1 hour. I was able to go from neutral to halfway through honored in 1 day doing all the quests and searching for eggs. If you have ever wanted a netherdrake, now is the time!

In 4.3, I think im the only one doing these dailies on my server!
Every day (especially in the mines) I find anywhere between 6-8 eggs on the group, plus an extra one or two from looting the mobs I need for the crystal quest.

A warning though, this quest can reveal symptoms of everythinglookslikeanegg-itus!

Important thing to mention. One of the spawn places is inside the carts inside the mine. This makes them easily mistaken with Nethermine Cargo.

Keep an eye on that, for you might miss it just because you overlooked an cargo cart.

I just now finished going from Hated to Exalted in less than 48 hours.

I am not trying to sound like a badass or anything, I am just letting you guys know that it is possible. It does require that you have no life for two days but if you want things without waiting (like me) then you can do it.

My strategy:

Every time you reach a new level of standing with Netherwing (friendly, honored etc) you get new quests that open up that give rep. So basically everytime I got new standing I would complete the quests for a little rep and then farm eggs for a bit to reach the new standing. Rinse and repeat.

I did this until I reached Revered, took around 15 hours total. And with the newly acquired Revered quests and dailies combined, it put me at around 4700/21000. After this I just farmed around 60 eggs to become exalted. (With the guild rep perk it makes turn-ins = 275 as opposed to the standard 250.

Farming:

When farming eggs I did the same thing every time. I started flying around the surface and checking all the spots, you can use gatherer which helps too I suppose. If no eggs showed up I would go back to the mines and do my run through there, killing, looting, and mining as I went.

In my opinion, the majority of the eggs come from spawns in the mines, then the surface. But the spawns can be horrible at times for both. Killing and looting seem to share around the same chances of eggs that mining or herb-ing do.

It's pretty simple, just a hardcore grind. I am lucky enough to be on break from college so...yeah.

Found 7 within the span of about 30-45 minutes.
An Additional 4 Eggs in an hour afterwards.
It's really luck based, in my opinion, as I farm these every day, and usually end up getting 1-2 during my dailies. Not to mention if you're the only person farming them, vs. a high pop server with Horde and Alliance farming at the same time. I have to say though, these things are possible to farm, and you just gotta search for them. A good way is to pick up all your dailies and search for the eggs while doing so. The eggs aren't difficult to spot but easily passed by, so watch for the egg and it's "aura" graphic.

Nethermine Ravager Dropped One as well, along with one from a Crazed Murkblood miner guy
The others were found throughout the mines, scattered obviously.

I was unable to loot these I was on my Vial of the Sands mount (Sandstone Drake) A simple change in mounts fixed it for me...Not guaranteeing it will fix yours but its worth a shot!

I farm them daily, but i try to do it at a stupid time in the morning (2am or so) so no one else has been around for a while usually.

There's almost always one on top of a crystal (79.80) co ords. and look ontop of the peak of mountains where the drake riders are, there's usually a couple up there.

The front room/s of the mine have three spawn points for the first egg, if there aren't any here or in the first room to the left(jump up there) i leave it for half hr or so, it's usually a good indicator that someone else has been there recently. They re-spawn pretty fast though. I think the bottom lvl or the mine also has 4 spawn points. And there are 7 spawn points for the floating islands with crystals. Always have a quick look outside the mines too in the clusters of crystals or in a open patch, there's usually one around there :)

A good 5-6 hours of farming the mobs today resulted in a grand total of 2 eggs. This isn't really viable in my opinion, as yesterday was the same and I wound up with about 6.

On the other hand I did bump into one guy who said he went for 3 hours and walked away with 20 so I guess I'm just hugely unlucky, but I have my doubts about whether or not he was telling the truth.

At level 85, it is quite easy to farm these little green things. Make sure to run through the mines a couple times. Every time I ran them, I got at least two eggs. Always check nooks and crannies. The balconies of the Dragonmaw fortress is also a good place to check. I went from friendly to revered in one day due to the combined rep of these and the various dailies and quests you get at each new rep level.

I can confirm there is a chance of an egg being mined from a nethercite ore node; I have gotten a few this way. It's a very low drop rate, though.

Each run through the mines net me 5-8 eggs every four hours. Most of them are found on the ground, but I also looted half a dozen or so from Nethercite Ore nodes and off Mob drops.

Thanks to all of the eggs, the 8 or so quests in the 2 available chains and the dailies, (I only have the mining gathering porofession, so I missed out on another 550 reputation points per day from the skinning and herbalism dailies) I was able to get exalted in 4 short days.

You can also find these eggs on mainland Shadowmoon Valley at Sanctum of the Stars. It's a good idea to look around in this area when you pick up the other daily Netherwing quest from there.

I've had the most luck finding these in the mines, without even really having to look too hard for them. Simply scouting around while doing the dailies today netted me 5 Netherwing Eggs.

Don't forget to check in carts and loot corpses!

I just did a quick egg run at all the spawns I know of.

I ended up with a total of 14 eggs within 15min so the "10 egg limit" is NOT true :)
So dont stop looking if you hit 10 eggs in a run.

Love me or hate me, I don't care. But here's an organized set of information that I could find, implement, and provide to you. So, please up the rating on this comment so that it goes to the top!

Here's a map of coordinates that I found and placed on for Netherwing Ledge and the Dragonmaw Camp (this map is MUCH cleaner than the one currently on wowhead). This map features ONLY open spawns of the eggs, not the drops from herbs, mines, or mobs.

I found those coordinates at Wow-tips.blogspot.com

And on that site page, I found a youtube video that showed all of the locations of the open egg spawns inside Dragonmaw Camp: Watch here

Keep in mind, I was unable to create a map of coordinates for the mines. So, that must be done manually, because there is no map for the mines on Wowhead, and there are coordinates for the mines on Wow-tips.blogspot.com (link above).

Also, if none of the above information is useful to you, or is not good enough for you, or perhaps you're a complete visual person (like me), then I found a great youtube video that shows ALL of the locations of possible spawns for Netherwing Ledge and Dragonmaw Camp - it's 5min 37sec, and has a good route to constantly rinse and repeat with! If your UI bugs out and shows friendly mobs as enemies, do NOT continue farming until you've relogged or done whatever you need to fix that problem. You will not be able to loot the open world eggs, and mobs will not drop them.

If anyone finds that they can't loot these, despite having done the quest, try leaving the subzone (losing your disguise) and returning. Logging out will not fix the problem.

Utterly panicked when I finally found another egg after 20 minutes searching only to find no interaction cogwheel, and an official forum search netted me this result. Here's hoping it saves someone some hassle!

Those eggs can be found during several of the activities we must do while questing for Netherwing rep.
I have found them while mining, there are reports of them in the herbalist's bushes, I have also found them as loot in mobs or inside the Sludge-Covered Objects dropped by the Black Bloods of Draenor.
To farm for the egss my suggestion is to keep questing, mining, collecting herbs, etc at the Netherwing Ledge, and keep an eye open for them in EVERY nook and cranny in the mines (I even found one inside one of the carts), and near those giant crystal formations in the Ledge.
To see them at a distance is pretty hard, but here is a tip: there is aa mist, much like a vapor columnm, rising from the eggs (I believe this is what Schroey refered to as a "Large Glowing Column"). Its identical to the vapor rising from Nethercite Deposits and Netherdust Bushes, except that those two have bluish vapor rising, and the eggs have a purplish vapor.
BTW, as of MAY212 there is no way to mount a macro to far for those.

Many ppl have experienced glitches in looting the eggs and farming the Netherdust pollen. When unable to loot either, after leaving the area many times, only to come back to find eggs gone, =(, I tried using my Burghy Blackheart's Handsome Hat as I'm not a druid. It worked! I can only assume anything that will change your form, like an Iron Boot flask or an Orb of the Sin'dorei would work as well. I didn't have time to read through all the comments, so if this has been said before, I apologize for repeating.

Keep an eye out in the Mine Carts when you're running around in the mine, after nearly missing one because it looked like a cart of ore, I started mousing over all the mine carts looking for the gear tool, lol. Same thing goes for the ore, I don't mine so I usually ignore ore veins, but again, almost missed an egg because it was hiding next to an ore.

I got more eggs as drops while I was killing the Nethermine Flayers and Ravagers than I found on the ground. I attribute this mainly to the fact that my gathering skill is skinning, so I was stocking up the Flayer Hides for the daily quest. I personally never saw one drop from the black oozes, I am not disputing that people have gotten them as a drop from the ooze, just saying that personally my drop rate was tremendously better on the Flayers and Ravagers.

I have found quite a few on top of the many small hills in Netherwing Ledge. Wouldn't hurt to look up once in a while :)
I am on a dead server currently because its the end of cata and DS is quite boring > so everytime i visit Netherwing Ledge i find from 5-8eggs everytime. Take a quick ride through Dragonmaw Fort then through Netherwing then go in the mines and out > which i tend to not stop at the entrance and die by falling :P I usually do this every hour and a half to ensure the eggs have been respawned . Its a good way to farm rep for your mount if u want it Asap.
Oh i forgot to mention > dailies play a big part lol

I had incredible luck today, as i was close to exalted i entered the mines to find some eggs, as soon as i entered the nethermine area, i saw one egg, then i killed a mob next to it at that one also dropped a egg, then i decided to mine a node not far away, and what do you know it also dropped a egg, then i found another egg in a cart! i love this place!

As of patch 5.0.4, low level zones now have cross realm interactions. Meaning people from every server will be farming for the same eggs making it much more difficult. I've even logged on around 2am local time and found over a dozen people there still farming. Best of luck to all who are attempting to grind this faster by repeated quest turn-ins.

Ever since the Cross-Realm Zones were introduced, most players will find it much more difficult to obtain these eggs on their own (such as an egg on top of a hill). I found it much easier to simply kill the sludge mobs in the mines since they respawn very quickly, while mining nethercite (Note that this little portion is miner-specific) which has a chance to drop eggs as well, and while grinding there is a chance for eggs to spawn in that area. Just a tip for anyone patch 5.0.5+

I don't know if this is RNG, but on 2 days of doing the dailies i got 4 eggs (2 each day, just killing the quest mobs) from the Ravagers / Flayers. I think their droprate is increased.

EDIT: Im killing extra ravagers / flayers now trying to farm them, just got my 3rd egg in +- 40 mobs.
EDIT: 4th egg at +-110 kills, if this still is RNG i don't know what is going on.
EDIT: 5th egg at +-130 kills.
EDIT: 6th egg at +- 160 kills
EDIT: Im exalted now got 2 more eggs in half an hour. (+2 i found outside the mine)

I'm exalted now, but i found it pretty fast. I started at +-17/21k rep 2 hours ago. This means that i farmed about 4k rep in 2 hours (without the daily quest rep). If you fly around looking for eggs every half an hour and then go in the mine and stay there killing the mobs. I averaged 5/6 eggs per hour. Doesn't seem fast maybe but i was so fed up with going there everyday that i just went for it. This is probably faster than killing the sludges.

When doing the 虚空矿洞剥石者的外皮 there is a possibility of getting egg drops. However I myself got three eggs out of the, say, 50 I killed so I wouldn't exactly say killing flayers is worth it if you're doing it only for the eggs.

Kill everything in the mines. I average about 5 a day on drops alone. Tonight I was lucky and walked out with 7 eggs (5 drops, 2 found).

If I do manage to find an egg some where, I consider myself lucky since they're almost impossible to find out.

I was told it's a grind to get exalted w/Netherwing so I started finally a day or 2 ago & so far, i've found that farming the eggs realllllly late, like from 2am-6am is the best time. Even then, I saw maybe 1 or 2 ppl farming along w/me.

I started at the dock where u kill the mounted orcs for the relics quest, then headed for my loop around the ledges & the floating rocks, then went to the fortress, then into the mines & killed EVERYTHING. Sooner or later the mobs dropped the egg. I'm revered now so about 2-3 stacks of 20 eggs will get me exalted.

It's gonna be a VERY long night. *Sighhhhhh*

EDIT: I got exalted last night. And my last egg was found from sludge so don't throw those away! It could contain an egg! Good luck everyone!

As of patch 5.3, Netherspite (nether drake boss in Karazhan) drops 2-3 Netherwing eggs.

It seems to be an undocumented change, so not certain if its merely a bug and if it will be fixxed or not.
However, it seems to ALWAYS drop these eggs at this moment.
SO I sudgest for anyone who wana get netherwing rep, to check it out :)

Just wanted to share my experience while farming for these today.
First off, I can confirm that they are completely RNG based. I managed to have three eggs drop from three different mobs right after one another.
Secondly, while traveling around on Netherwing Ledge, be sure to look around your surroundings carefully. They can spawn anywhere on the floating isle, and can be hard to notice sometime.

Also, not sure if this is just a coincidence, but when I was killing the mobs in big groups (5+) the drop chance seemed to be lower, resulting in no or one drop per pack. When I killed them in singular numbers, more of them seemed to drop an egg.

After about 1hour of farming (at 5.am), I was left with 10 eggs and a happy smile.

Addon "Gatherer" although makes searching eggs easier, but better learn the route and spawns of the eggs, its not difficult. I raised reputation Neutral-Exalted in 3 days. I reccomend to get the dragon for anyone, coz Netherdrake is the most attractive mount in the game, on my oppinion ofc.

Getting these with crz is hard with all the competition so the best way to farm these is by realm hopping. (Make a Starter account and levels 1 on low pop servers, lett them invite the egghunter so you go to their realm.)

Your own realm >Dragonmaw Fortress - Netherwing Ledge - mines > Jump to another realm and repeat in reverse.
I got the most eggs in the mines & the fortress.

And don't forget to kill Netherspite in Karazhan.

A few tips and my personal guide for farming the eggs!

*The eggs do not sparkle like a traditional collectable, but instead they produce a purple smoke*

Try to log in at non-peak times if you are on a populated realm!

*Netherspite in Kara now drops eggs, i've got anywhere from 1-3 eggs from him per run, well worth it if you need the extra rep!*

1) Do all available quests and dailies. Every bit of rep counts; make sure you're looking out for eggs while doing them.

2) When all are done, this is the route I take on my farm. I start in the mine, and I jump up the wall on the left to the flayers first. KILL EVERYTHING. Trust me, it is worth it. One time I came out of the mine with 8 eggs, 7 OF THEM were from drops. Sometimes RNG likes you.

3) Follow the flayers down to the crazed miner section just above the spectral dragon. Make sure you're looking in all the side caves and in the mine carts along this section for eggs.

4) Jump down next to the dragon and and follow the mine up into the section full of the Black blood. Again, kill everything!

5) Make your way out of the mine.

For people who have TomTom, these are the coordinates of all the eggs I have found inside the mine. (Copy and paste into a macro for easy coords OR get the Paste addon, which is very useful.)

7) Make your way to Dragonmaw Fortress. ALWAYS CHECK HERE! Most of the eggs I have found on the ground have been here! They can spawn in the hallways behind the drakeriders, on the cart, in the stables, in the holding pen, and inside various buildings.

8) Head back to the north-east side of the main ledge, by the dock thing. Again, fly clockwise backtowards the mine, zig-zagging from the floating islands, to the main island.

9) Enter the mines and repeat.

I really hope this helps people, as I myself found this a very frustrating grind at times. Good luck getting one of the most beautiful mounts in the game :)

I can confirm that seems to be back in vogue to farm eggs in the mine.
Every time I try to collect some I find 5-6 people to farm these.
So I found a way to find more each visit...
You can get invited in a party by a friend (or your girlfriend as in my case)
that resides on a server with low population. You will see appear eggs like magic!

I cringed hard when reading some of the horror stories in the comments here, like:
"I just spent the day farming for these ... got about 17 total in one day"
"In the last hour I've found 7 eggs"
"2 eggs per hour only happens when you've very lucky"

Before going on, I should mention I'm playing on a private Cataclysm server, so some things may be different. However, the server is Blizzlike and I didn't notice any difference in drop rates or spawn times for any mobs or items in all the time I've been playing there, so I'm pretty confident it's the same on retail(or at least, was the same on retail Cataclysm). The only thing that may be a factor is the amount of competition you have, especially since the cross-realm zone thing being implemented on retail.

The best way to farm these, in my experience, is just to go for the ones that spawn in the open on Netherwing Ledge(outside, ignore the mines). Get an addon like GatherMate or Gatherer to keep track of where the nodes are when you loot them. There are a total of 17 places they can spawn, and the respawn rate is 25-30 minutes. Each egg has its own respawn timer, so if you loot an egg you can count on it spawning in the same place 25-30 minutes later.

After I found all the spawn spots, I created a route for them using the Routes addon, and just kept picking them all up as soon as they respawned. Do the entire route for 17 eggs, wait 25-30 minutes, rinse and repeat. I got from no rep to exalted in a few hours.

the garrison trader groups on the group finder have been a god send for finding eggs tbh, if there's too many people on your server egg hunting or you're not having any luck finding them just hop into some groups til you find some

If you, like me, haven't got much knowledge of 卡拉赞 and are in doubt if you should go there for the 3x extra eggs per week;
It takes about ~10/15 minutes to run to 虚空幽龙 and the Chess Event doesn't need to be completed.
So I suggest going there for an easy 750 extra reputation once a week.

Anyone else have the problem of dfinding certain eggs but not being able to click them? it happens to me sometimes and im 100% its an egg..

Getting off your mount and standing on the egg and relogging made the egg clickable. hope this helps

Extreme difficulty in finding these things anymore doesn't appear to be from changing drop rate. It's the competition. I got frustrated after egg farming for a week and finding exactly 3 the whole time, started checking out the other players.

Blizz has apparently set up Outland on separate servers and grouped whole lot of realms together. Saw at least 20 different normal PvE realms represented, including 3 full ones (Stormrage, Area 52, Zul'jin) and 3 more high population (Thrall, Aerie Peak, Whisperwind). Means even if you find a buddy to invite you to their low pop realm, good chance you'll still be facing same players looking for eggs. This isn't just Netherwing area, goes for all of Outland.

Proudmoore (high pop) must be in a different group. Identifed 20 different realms that my Proudmoore mage saw and the other 19 all medium population. Appears that competition should be a lot lighter if you were lucky enough to be in that group. Didn't check any PvP or RP realms, assume Blizz has done same sort of grouping on them.

(Edit) Now up to 48 realms I've seen sharing Outland stuff. Place is crazy.

I've been doing the Netherwing dailies for 5 days now. Today was the first day I've actually found an egg, as opposed to having them drop as loot from mobs. This brings my grand total to:

::drumroll please::

4 eggs. 3 dropped from mobs, 1 found in the mines. The lack of eggs makes this a very long rep grind.

Hey guys,

You all gave good ideas how to farm these eggs! I've just started my quest searching for them two days ago. My personal experience is that early morning (6:00 AM or earlier) is the best time to go and farm those beauties, I got 10 in 1,5 hours. Weekends have a bit of a mission impossible feel to them due to the higher number of players in the area, although at evenings after 21:00 PM seems a good idea to give it a few more tries, especially on raid days.

So I would usually find anything in between 0-2 eggs on my daily routine farming the rep. THE ONE DAY where I only need 992 to hit exalted, I find !6! EGGS IN THE CAVE ALONE. Thanks Blizzard.

EDIT: FYI It was a monday morning at 11am server time. So no competition.

I started this rep grind on Sunday. Thanks to the anniversary buffs + pilgrims bounty event(+23% to all rep), I'm now 7000 or so rep away from being exalted. One more set of dailies and about 10 eggs and I'll have the coveted Netherwing drake. I went from hated to revered in less than 8 hours of play time.

Eggs seem to be on a pretty fast respawn rate. Last night, I did my egg farming route, then the dailies, then another round of the route and ended up with 16 eggs before I did my turn in's. Definitely a lot faster to do this now than it was in the past.

Thanks to the great information provided in these comments, I was able to achieve exalted status faster than expected. I play less often than some people, so for me, that meant doing the dailies, plus 1-2 hours of egg hunting per night for a week. (Tuesday to Tuesday, so I capitalized on Netherspite in Karazhan twice for a total of four eggs - 3 on the first kill and 1 egg the second trip.) In this type of grind, those 4 eggs are huge for the cause! Although some of this is previously touched on with other comments, the goal is just to feedback something as current as possible. Some other things that help:

- Use a high level druid if you have one. Of course the flight perks and faster movement speed make them a prime farming class for most anything. If you do not, then recommend using any class you have with faster movement speed to most efficiently move through the mine.

* Of note, having a fast runner like a druid allows you to outrun competitors to get eggs that will spawn throughout the mine, particularly when you need to sprint with Stampeding Roar and Dash. Also - take plenty of potions to increase run speed. No doubt your competitors are tired of grinding too and are racing you to those eggs, so make it happen first!

- Like previous comments - kill everything you see in the mine, and of course kill the other mobs known to drop eggs outside the mine. The vast majority of the eggs I got, were specifically from the ravagers and flayers in the mine. More than half in total eggs. 15 of 22 eggs on my last egg run were from flayers/ravagers.

- Configure your toon to repeatedly spam whatever long range attack you can cast as fast as possible. This allows you to take down flayers/ravagers/miners most efficiently. It matters when you can clear a chamber in the mine in a few seconds, particularly when you have competition.

- Loot everything you kill! This cannot be overstated. As you repeatedly run up and down the mine it of course drags on and gets old fast. Twice, that ravager that was "out of the way" on my run path dropped an egg.

****Areas that had the highest egg drop rates for me:

- While farming in the Dragonmaw Fortress on the mainland, ensure that your trail has you check inside the towers where the drakes are resting. I found a large volume of eggs inside those towers, just behind the drakes themselves. Once I started counting, I got 12 eggs from those towers alone.

Within to mines, the bridge located at (71, 84) and the Flayer on top of the bridge that always hangs out with the Black Blood of Draenor at the end of that bridge, produced several eggs. Once I started keeping track, I counted 10 eggs from that specific flayer, and 5 eggs that were on that bridge. As you make your mine runs, I strongly recommend ALWAYS sweeping by that area, and killing that flayer. I don't know why the drop rate on that flayer was significantly higher (other than just great RNG luck) than any other mob I encountered.

- The only other consistent drop region for me, was the floating rock field south of the Ledge, particularly the floating rocks (with crystal formations on them) that were directly south of the mine entrances. (I counted five eggs from there).

- Just like previously stated, the better times to farm were late at night. On my Central time zone server, anything after 10:30 pm was great.

All you have to do is put the macro onto your action bar and click it once. When you directly mouseover a Netherwing Egg (including in your inventory), the sound will trigger. It will continue to do this until your UI is reloaded (this includes replacing one macro with another to change the sound; both sounds will play until the UI is reloaded).

I highly recommend to do this on a low-pop server, and even there at night times. This way you can get exalted in about 3 days.
I have farmed them twice and I would guess the respawn time on at least 2 hours, probably more.
But since there is about a hundred spawns in total, you can find them quick by times.
Usually the first hour I get about 20 eggs. After the first hour it gets less and less.

It's not listed here on wowhead but you can actually get netherwing eggs from the sludge-covered objects that you loot from the Black Blood of Draenor in the Netherwing Mines! I was surprised when i got one when i was farming the mines because from looking at the 'contained in' tab in wowhead the sludge covered object was not there and i thought opening them were always going to give me vendor trash or daily quest profession turn-ins as i farmed them enough to thought i would have got one from opening them by now but halfway into revered i got one from these sludge-covered objects so definitely open them and think of them as another chance of netherwing eggs which i previously didnt.

If you came here wondering why you could open the egg but you could not loot it's contents it's because you;re in a group. Drop your group and you can pick them up just fine.

It is listed that some of the mobs have a 1% chance of dropping these eggs, but i still recommend farming from them, especially near the top of the mountain. I got 4 in less than 15 minutes from the mobs there.

A lot of the information here is really good for solo farming eggs, but times have changed and hands down the fastest way to farm them now is with a group killing the enemies on the island. My group killed Overmine Flayers on the hill just east of the town. They have a linked respawn rate and any high level can 1 shot them. Unlike the Nethermine Flayers, these enemies aren't used in any quest so competition here is pretty low usually. Spread your group over the range of the hill and just go crazy killing and looting. We ended up consistently getting about 40-50 eggs per hour, turning a multiple week rep grind into a multiple hour one.

The Black Bloods and Nethermine Flayers are also good options if there is competition on the hill, but your bags will fill with trash loot faster and its a longer run to vendor mount up.

What in the world is the respawn timer on these eggs? A few years ago, I felt like I could find a couple any time I searched the island. Now... it's impossible. I've searched all week, like an hour a day, at different times of the day, and have not found a single egg. It's impossible.

I am finding that eggs are no longer spawning at all with Warmode on. Can anyone confirm? I have done my best to see if anyone is in the area and there is no way someone is. With Warmode off they do spawn but a lot slower than they used to. I submitted a bug report in game.

These eggs seem to only spawn when you've been in the zone for at least an hour. could be 90 minutes. not exactly sure. I usually finish all my daily's before they spawn. i had one good day where i found like 10 eggs in the mines. i get usually 1 or 2 egg drops from NPCs while completing my dailies. i guess if you have the time, just park your toon for an hour and then go egg hunting! I'd recommend doing the dailies outside the mines first and then finish with the mine dailies because that will give you a longer time in the zone, and a better chance of eggs spawning and the eggs are very easy to spot in the mines!

Not sure if helpful/appropriate but I just looted 1 Netherwing egg from old instance of Kharazan. Can't tell you exactly which mob as I was killing everything on my way and mass looting but just noticed it in my bag after running it.

Sharing my Experience:

- DO NOT fly around hunting for eggs for hours at a time, you will burn yourself out.
- DO All daily quests, they should take no longer than 30-40 minutes a day.
- When doing the quests keep your eye on the eggs around you(They look like circular rocks with blue spikes).
- Download addon - Netherwing eggs to know where the eggs can spawn.
- Kill all mobs inside the cave. Each mob has a 1% drop chance for the egg.
- Check every corner of the caves (I did it at 7am, and regularly got 1-5 eggs a day).
- Save your eggs until Darkmoon Faire. Get the whee buff by riding the carousel and then turn in the eggs. Free 10% rep increase on the eggs.

My way is not for everybody, but it worked for me. Took me about 2.5 weeks to get to exalted.

During the 50% Rep Week, turning in one egg awards 375 rep. Considering how difficult these things are to find,
as well as how long it takes to farm them, it's so pathetically menial compared to other BC factions, with turn-ins
that award 750 or at least 500+ rep.

I'm not so keen to add a egg total estimation tool for reaching exalted because rep gains can vary for many reasons and I know I'll leave somehting out and/or I'll fail to take account of addhoc seasonal boosts in a timely manner and such.

To turn in these 灵翼龙卵s for the first time, you have to complete a long introductory quest chain in the 影月谷 (TBC):

Prerequisite introductory quests

Find 莫德奈 in the 影月谷. He normally travels between the 2 crystals around 61, 58.
Speak to him, accept, and complete the quest 友善.
Accept 寻找奈尔萨拉库 and search for 奈尔萨拉库. I found him flying high above the Dragonmaw Fortress betwen 68,61 and 63, 56.
Accept 奈尔萨拉库的故事 and speak to him again to listen to the tale, so to complete the quest.
Accept 攻击龙喉要塞, and kill the orcs to complete the quest.
Accept 前往灵翼浮岛！, and travel to the Ledge island to collect Nethervine crystals from the red vines, so to complete the quest.
Accept 奈尔萨拉库之力, and free the enslaved drakes to complete the quest.
Accept 卡瑞纳库, and speak to 卡瑞纳库 to complete the quest.
Accept 疲惫的祖鲁希德, kill Zuluhed, loot the key, and free 卡瑞纳库 to complete the quest.
Accept 灵翼之盟, and ride 卡瑞纳库莫德奈 to complete the quest.
Complete 灵翼血誓.
Accept 为伊利达雷效力, and travel to 莫格霍尔大王 to complete the quest.
You can optionally accept 会见工头 from Mor'ghor if you are interested in the storyline. But even if you don't accept this quest, you can already turn in the eggs for reputation.

Turning in the eggs to Yarzill

Walk out of the hut, and go to 雇佣兵亚兹尔 right outside at 66,86.
Complete 你的伙伴.
Accept 寻找灵翼龙卵, so you can turn in your first 灵翼龙卵.
Speak to 雇佣兵亚兹尔 again, and select 所有的龙卵 to turn in every remaining 灵翼龙卵.

Hooray! For all your future lucky egg finds, you can come to 雇佣兵亚兹尔 to turn them in in the same way.

Did Blizzard change the smoke graphics the eggs give off? I remember they used to have a narrow but tall column of smoke that was very noticeable, but it seems they now have a small cloud around them that's far less noticeable.

Having War Mode ON, I found at least 9-10 eggs every time I ventured out. I highly recommend it.

After reaching Exalted, flying to Shattrath with the final quest took longer than gathering 6546864 eggs.

As somebody who's been farming the eggs, you'll find the majority of the world-spawn ones in the mines, but don't neglect the floating islands or the fortress on the main island of Shadowmoon Valley - without getting any eggs from drops or herbalism, you can regularly find at least 6 eggs in one scour of the entire mine, if not more.

I am very late to trying to gather these to get the mount. But, in case it helps someone else, this is where I have most often found them:

I have absolutely found the most eggs by looting the Netherdust Bushes
Twice I have found one in Dragonmaw Fortress in the center of where the Enslaved Netherwing Whelps are kept
Twice I found one where the Barash the Den Mother spawns
Twice one dropped from an Overmine Flayer in the area where Barash the Den Mother and Arvoar the Rapacious spawn
Thrice I found one in a mine cart at the very entrance of the mine, in the area where you first encounter the Black Blood of Draenor blobs
Thrice I have found them in the mine in the areas where the Nethermine Flayers are
One randomly spawned for me on the platform where the Dragonmaw Transporters take off and land

As of the day I am writing this, I get 400 reputation for every egg I turn in, but I also think I have some reputation buffs right now due to WoW's 20th anniversary so I am not sure it is always that high for these eggs.
