Not like it really matters, but Savage Gladiator Chain, was much better at the time. If you want to know the old stats they were:

Savage Gladiator Chain

Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 2%.

Versus

Breastplate of Heroism

Equip: Improves your chance to hit by 1%.

1 Agility for a warrior was .05% crit so it ends up being 8 Strength, and 1% hit versus 2.05% crit. However Savage Gladiator Chain was a much less known item, and I bet not many people were farming the Arena all day.

I wish they would have kept this quest in the game. It wasn't really about the gear. It was about completing a massive long quest chain that took you all over the world in a variety of challenging - but doable - tasks. One of the best memories of vanilla wow.

This dungeon set doesn't seem to have the set bonus inactive. Maybe it's an oversight or since it's no longer obtainable they just didn't bother?
