You want to save this necklace as it is one of the two you need to trade in for a mount, as hinted to by the flavour text. You will need both 血仇飓风之眼 and 泰洛斯的俘获核心 which you can trade in with 塔图基亚卡 in return for 伊斯卡拉商人的奥獭. You can find this npc in Iskaara.

If you had one or both of these items before, but sold them, you can use the item restoration tool to retrieve them.

Can you wear this and use it later for the mount or do you need to keep it fresh in your bags until you get both?

New season is up, maybe Blizzard will make these somehow BoA, as I have two on two different characters, and the other item three times on other characters.
